Abstract

This article explains the concept of wages in Islamic perspective. In fact, most workers are not rewarded as equally as their achievement. This can trigger a conflict between workers and employers. By contrast, most entrepreneurs faced with unstable economic conditions. In that position, the workers often become victims of the employers to accept wages that are not feasible. This condition causes the peak the workers go to street for demonstration or strike. The role of government; therefore, is needed in setting minimum wage standards. Injustice can cause confusion for workers and strike. Its impact can affect economic sectors. For these reasons, Islam offers a solution to the problem of wages and the interests of both parties without violating the rights of both.

Abstract

Governmental is very important for a community of nations, because the government guarantee an orderly system of life will be realized. In Islam, it is widely known the term “al-siyasah al-syar’iyyah” (religious politics) and formal leadership are so-called caliphate, sultan, Imamat, and uli al-amr. The Qur’an does not specify a particular form and style of government for Muslims; therefore, they have the freedom to choose the form of government. The Qur'an only contains the basic values of ethics and political morality as a foundation of a state or a nation. Government (khalifah), in carrying out development tasks should refer to its functions and duties as the khalifah. That is the responsibility of realizing the benefit for the people based on four basic principles: honesty, justice, discipline, and consultation (democracy).

Abstract

Islam revealed to the world has a universal mission as the liberator of mankind from ignorance and powerlessness to build the happiness. To face the challenge of globalization, religion should be interpreted into five programs: first, the need to develop more than a social structural interpretation of individual interpretation as to understand the specific provisions in the Qur'an. Second is to change the way from subjective into objective way of thinking. Third is to shift the normative Islam to theoretical. Fourth, make the ideas evolved historically. Fifth, make specific formulations and empirical formulation of general revelation.

Abstract

This writing tries to show the importance of contextual understanding on hadith in order to response Islam Nusantara discourse. It is library research which takes contextual understanding on hadith and Islam Nusantara as its variables of research. The research result shown that contextual meaning is an approach which done, as an effort to analyze the meaning of hadith. it is done when there is inconsistency between the situation on a society or a certain time of decade. The hadith said that the leader should be taken from Quraisy tribe or the hadith about a nation will never find its prosperous when the leadership is given to woman are two examples which will get difficulties when it will be applied in Indonesia, as long as it is still understood textually. However, both do not find clashes when it is understood contextually. Therefore, all the Islam scientific are demanded to be ready in responding the actual problems on society life, especially in Indonesia archipelago, in order to reflect the elasticity of Islam teaching principle and method on mu’amalah and social relation issues.

Abstract

Continuity in the development of art, especially Hindu art Indonesia reached a new tradition at the time of the power of the king who converted to Islam, in which the development of Islamic art in Indonesia based on the palace of the king. In this cultural arts center arts fostered and developed based on a long artistic tradition with new values ​​that Islam breath. Symbolic and aesthetic elements in the building of Islam in Indonesia, is a reflection of culture in a region of breath. Big or small the role of local culture, weighing whether or not the work of pre-Islamic art, that's what color the Islamic art forms including architecture realization. The concept of Islam, i.e. every creature possessed of art values ​​have to be connected with a wealth of beauty and greatness of Allah Swt. Thus, in Islamic art has a legal status (syar'i) are governed by certain religious teachings of Islam, both contained in the Qur'an, Hadith, and the opinions of the ulama.

Abstract

The dialog between local culture and religion cannot be separated with the history of religious communities in Indonesia. This article is aimed to describe a form of dialogue between local culture and religion among Muslims of Hatuhaha community in the Central Moluccas. It is particularly to understand forms of dialogue between local culture and religion, specifically Islam in Indonesia. This article is based on a field research in the Haruku island of Central Moluccas in 2009 by using qualitative method. It has been found that, firstly, there has a constructive dialogue between Islam as a religion and local culture since the religion was accepted as a “new ideology” within island communities in Indonesia. Secondly, there are three models of dialogue between the religion and local culture, i.e. “domination”, “accommodation”, and “contextual”.

Abstract

This article examines the method of interpretation of Bint al-sya-i by studying his book Tafsir al-Tafsir al-Bayâniy li al-Qur'an al-Karim. It has been found that the method applied by al-sya-i' was patterned literature i.e. literary exegesis which is designed to be inter-interpretation of the Quranic text which methodologically, can be considered modern. The method used a thematic approach (maudu'i) in interpreting the Koran and stressed the need for interpretation of philology, based on the chronological text and the use of Arabic semantics. This thematic approach was a response to the classical method of interpretation of the Qur'an by contemporary experts. It is then applied by al-Syathi in his commentary that contains fourteen chapters started Makkiyah entitled “al-Tafsi r li al-Bayan al-Qur'an al-Karim.”

Abstract

Relation between ‘Nusantara Islam’ and Islamic education in contemporary Indonesia is a pivotal issue. It is because of many fundamental reasons, such as, historical, social, political, cultural, religious and educational perspectives. In this context, this article focuses on the relationship and the contribution of Nusantara Islam in Indonesian Islamic educational context from time to time in all aspects. The research in this paper is qualitative with descriptive analytical approach and documentary method. The general objective of this study is to find out what and how the history of Nusantara Islam in the country? What and how the history of Islamic education in Indonesia? How is the relationship between Nusantara Islam and Islamic education in contemporary Indonesia? The results showed that, first and foremost, is the history of Nusantara Islam is a portrait of a very complex history, which extends from the Aceh to Papua and elsewhere in Indonesia. Second, the history of Indonesian Islamic education is the discussion about institution, content of materials and objectives of Islamic-based education from time to time. Third, the relationship between Nusantara Islam and Islamic education in contemporary Indonesia has a strong “bond” with each other. Ultimately, the relationship is so closely linked to the development and progress of the nationhood.

Abstract

The history of writing and science of hadith have passed a series of very long phase. This paper examines one of the hadith books, i.e. Hadith al-Jami 'al-Azhar Hadith an-Nabi by the Imam Anwar al-Manawi. This paper shows that al-Manawi is an eminent scholar who collected the prophet Muhammad’s tradition in his book al-Jami 'fi al-Azhar al-Hadith al-Nabi al-Anwar and wrote by using various methods and systematical arrangement of traditions based on alphabetical arrangement. This can be seen in indexes (fuhras) book chapters from each book al-Jami fi al-al-hadits al-Anwar of the Prophet. The theme also varied, such as monotheism, worship, morals and law. In this book al Manawi also mentioned about quality of the Prophet’s traditions, both valid hadith, good (hasan) hadith, or false traditions (dhaif).

Abstract

Globalization with its threat that continously plaguing Bali, currently a province of Indonesia in its capacity as an island with natural and cultural uniqueness. This study aims to find out, how big a threat that plagued contemporary Bali, and the role of embarrassment (jengah) in the face. The study founds that embarrassment (jengah) with the transformation of the values they contain contribute positively in the face of threat and is able to guarantee the future sustainability of Bali with its uniqueness. By transforming the values of embarrasment (jengah), Bali provincial government managed to improve their good governance and the nationalism of its apparatus, capable of providing a positive impact in the swift efforts to deter threats to the uniqueness of Bali.
