Abstract

Post tin mining pond in Bangka Island has been used as a tourism place, fishing, fish ponds, and agricultural areas that can reduce water. The purpose of this study is to evaluate quality of water post tin miningpond which is used as a tourist place based on physics, chemical and biotic indices of Diatoms as bioindicator. Sample water and Diatoms were take at 3post tin miningpond (Itam, Pedindang, and Jangkang 2) and natural swamp (Rawa)  as reference site. Sampling each pond and swamp wasdone in three stations as replications and then be observed physics-chemical quality of water (pH, water temperature, turbidity, conductivity, COD, and phosphate) and also the Trophic Diatom Index (TDI) and Pollution Tolerant Value (% PTV) from Diatom as indicator of trophic status and organic pollution. The results of the study showed that all of the ponds and natural swamp had low pH range from 4.32-6.34. Turbidity of Itam and Pedindang higher (22-24 NTU) than Jangkang 2 and swamp (3.13-9.13 NTU). Jangkang 2 had the highest conductivity value (115,10 μS.cm-1) and swamp the lowest (10.64 μS.cm-1).  The value of COD and total phosphate in all location still fullfilled government standard (COD < 20 mg.L-1 and total phosphate < 0.2 mg.L-1). Water quality in tin mining ponds lower than natural swamps based on Diatom as bioindicator. All of the ponds were categorized as moderately polluted based on Shannon Wiener Diversity index of Diatom (H=1.2-1.6), however swamp have lightly polluted (H=2.6). Trophic status of water in post tin mining pondsbased on Trophic Diatom Index (TDI) included in the eutrophic while in swamp categorized as mesoeutrophic. Based on percentage pollution tolerant value (%PTV), the water in Itam and Pedindang included in heavily organic pollution and water in Jangkang 2 and also swamp have moderately organic pollution. Keywords: Bangka,Diatom, post tin mining pond, tourism, water quality.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the pattern of movement of domestic tourists within one country, in this case, in Indonesia. Although many scholars had been addressed by tourism in their research, both international and domestic tourism, there was a limited study that examined the spatial pattern of domestic tourism, especially in developing countries. Therefore, this study intended to do so. This study employed a descriptive analysis of the new data set gathered from the Study of Domestic Tourism Market 2017. The result of this study showed that, although visitors can travel either inside one province or to many other provinces in Indonesia, however, the majority of visitors prefer to travel within one province, which might be related to several factors such as cost and transportation facilities. The data also showed evidence of inequality, especially when comparing Java and Non-Java Provinces. One of the reasons for those disparities can be explained by the fact that people living in Java tend to travel only to other provinces around Java Islands. Another reason is that the level of economic development differs from Java and the outer islands. Transportation access has also affected the disparities since all provinces in Java get benefited from the sophisticated and interconnected transportation systems. On the contrary, Non-Java Provinces are hindered by the limited access to transportation modes or by the expensive transportation cost. A big difference in the average income per capita between Java and Non-Java residents also contributed to the inequality in the number of tourists among the provinces. The individual with high income, of course, has more opportunity to do traveling to many places and to visit attractive sites. Keywords: developing country, domestic tourism, economic development, regional disparities.

Abstract

Taman Beach as one of the superior tourist destinations in Pacitan has now begun to develop. The development of Taman Beach tourism object is inseparable from the efforts which are initiated by the Group of Turtle Rescue Society for Tourism “Taman Ria”which develops turtle conservation activities through the concept of community-based ecotourism. Local people have also developed tourist attractions such as flying fox and swimming pools to attract tourists to visit it and a portion of the tourism incomes for the funding of turtle conservation activities. However, in the development process, there are problems such as the low level of community participation and the lack of management of tourist object that is integrated with the local community. This study aims to analyze the role and level of community participation in supporting the development of community-based ecotourism in the Taman Beach area. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Quantitative data analysis using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) approach. Data collection is done by using questionnaires and observations in the field. The variables studied included the dimensions of planning, management, monitoring, and supervision. The results of the study indicate that the involvement of local communities in the development of ecotourism does not support sustainability, with an average sustainability index value of 46.864. The level of community participation according to Arnstein's participatory ladder from the aspect of planning and management aspects has reached the level of placement participation in the tokenism category (accepting the provisions). Whereas from the aspect of monitoring and controlling has reached the level of consultation participation in the tokenism category (accepting the provisions). The results of the analysis show that policy strategies are needed to increase community participation through increasing community roles and responsibilities in planning, management, monitoring, and controlling. Keywords: community based, ecotourism, multidimensional scaling

The theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used to analyze the study subjects, namely domestic Muslim tourists when they intended to select and recommend halal tourist destinations. It revealed that when domestic Muslim tourists intended to select and recommend halal tourist destinations, they influenced by Behavior Control. Attitude and Subjective norm did not influence the intention to select and recommend halal tourist destinations. Moreover, there was an adverse relationship between Attitude and Subjective Norm in the intention. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe community involvement in the development of Kragilan Top Selfie Pinusan tourist destinations (TSPK) and explain the role of Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) in developing TSPK tourist destinations. This study uses the concept of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) as an analytical framework. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with parties related to TSPK tourist destinations. The results of the study indicate that community participation in the process of developing the TSPK was encouraged by the local community namely Pokdarwis (tourism-aware group). Pokdarwis, in this case, plays a role in the division of labor; financial management; and managing cleanliness. Pokdarwis conducts division of labor to encourage community participation. The forms of community participation in TSPK include workforce and the contribution of ideas in developing TSPK. Next, the existence of TSPK also empowers the economy of the people in Kragilan Hamlet. Pokdarwis also empowers the community to manage the environment around the destination. Then TSPK shows that the CBT model that is different from CBT in general, in TSPK empowerment is carried out independently by Pokdarwis. Only after Pokdarwis initiated this empowerment and brought economic benefits, the government (Gunung Merbabu National Park Office) took part in helping TSPK management. Keywords: Community Based Tourism (CBT); Community Engagement; Participation; Top Selfie Pinusan Kragilan (TSPK).
