Abstract

This research was conducted by conceptual understanding of student had low and unwilling to ask questions and rarely hold a discussion. This was an experimental research which used random the subject design. The population of the research was all of the first year students of SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan registered in academic year 2013/2014. As the sample, the students in class VII1 was taken as the experimental group, and those in class VII3 was chosen as the control group. The instrument of the research was an essay post-test whose reliability was . The data gotten was analyzed by using MINITAB. The resultf of data analysis showed that was 0,041 wich was smaller than . Thus, it was concluded that the use of chained-greeting and questions technique could improve the conceptual understanding student mathematics the better than the use of convensional learning in the first year of SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

This study was motivated by an understanding of mathematical concept students are still low and the students do not understand about the subject matter because it does not want to learn at home , resulting in a low student math learning outcomes. This type of research is experimental research design randomized trials on the subject . The population of this study is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang and the sample was grade VIII.6 VIII.9 experimental class and control class . The instrument used in this study is the essay test . Data were analyzed using t-test . Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average student learning outcomes experimental class higher than the control class. Thus , it can be concluded that the ability of understanding mathematical concepts students use the Question Type Active strategy assessment better than conventional learning at Junior High School eighth grade 13 Padang .

Abstract

This research is motivated by low learning achievement math of students andmany students are not sure with their answer and prefer have a copy from theirfriend. The objective of this study to know if applying the model of CooperativeLearning techniques Two stay Two Stray effect on students learning achievementof Mathematic students grade X1 IIS 1 SMAN 16 Padang and how studentslearning attitude after using the model of Cooperative Learning techniques Twostay Two Stray. Type of this research is pre-experiment with scheme of researchPre-test and Post-test group. The hypothesis result using t test showed thathypothesis was accepted with value of thitung is 11.92 and the value of students’attitude based on the result of the 1st observation is 3.13 with criteria B (good)and at the 2nd meeting with criteria SB (very good). It can be concluded there isthe effect of applying a model of Cooperative Learning techniques Two stay TwoStray to the mathematics learning achievement and attitudes of students at classX1 IIS I SMAN 16 Padang.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the importance of learning materials in thelearning process. They could facilitate the students to learn independently.Unfortunately, the use of the Student Worksheet had not yet been able to help thestudents learn by themselves as the materials presented were very short anddifficult to be understood unless the teacher explained them. To overcome thisproblem, a guided finding-based learning module for teaching set topic wasdeveloped. This research was aimed at producing a guided finding-based learningmodule which was valid and practical. This was a developmental research whichused ADDIE model. This model consisted of five phases including Analysis,Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. The result of the validity andpracticality test showed that the guided finding-based learning module developedhad been very valid and practical.

Abstract

This research was due to the students low understanding on mathematics concept.The aim of this research was to reveal whether the use of two stay to stray cooperative learning model model gave better effect on the students mathematics conceptual understanding compared to the use of conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 2 Rao.This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The result of data analysis indicated that the two smple  class were normal and homogenous.the result of hypothesis test showed  that the value of t calculated = 3,15 was higher  than t table = 1,68 indicating that the hypotesis was accepted.At last, it was concluded  that the use of two stay two stray cooperative learning model gave better effect on the students mathematics conceptual understanding compered  to the use of conventional learnig.

Abstract

The development research is motivated by the of texsbooks used by students in the learning of mathematics. Textbooks used can not provide the opportunity for students to construct their own understanding. Attemps to overcome these problems by developing a valid and practical module based contextual teaching and learning in the matter of sequence and series. The model of development is four-D. Four-D includes four phases: definition, design, develope and dessiminate. The research only until the development stage. At this stage of development do the validation and practicalities. Validation results are very valid. Based on the results carried out on the practicalities of teachers and students expressed very practicalities module.

Abstract

Teaching materials is one of the things that can affect the quality of learning. Teaching materials should be able to train the students learning independence, so that students can find the concept independently, and reason as well as the mindset of students can develop. The purpose of the development of LKS with Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is generating a valid and practical worksheets. This type of research is the development of research using model 4-D which consists of four phases: define (definition), design (design), develop (development), and desseminate (spread). The tests showed that the LKS has a validity of 3.01 which is included in the valid criteria. The test results showed that the practicalities of the teacher student worksheets with Contextual Teaching and Learrning approach has a level of 75% which includes the practicalities of practical criteria. While the practicalities of student test results showed that the approach LKS Contextual Teaching and Learrning (CTL) has a 97% rate of practicalities which includes very practical criteria.

Abstract

This reserch is motivated by the instructional materials used by studentsdoesnot contain all the materials systematically based on the basic competencies.So, the material presented is difficult to be anderstood by the students and leadstudents should wait for explanation from the teacher in teaching leraning process.Therefore, it is necesarry of teaching materials that guide students to learnindependently, like handouts. Handout that was developed is the handout based onrealistic approach contain of description of material, exercise and evaluation. Thisstudy aims to determine how the validity and practicality o handout based on arealistic approach for material o algebraic operations at SMPN 20 Padang. Thisresearch is development research. The procedure development of this model isused 4-D model that consists of 4 stages define, design, develop taht proposed byThiagarajan et al in Trianto (2012: 93). This study is limited to the stage ofdevelop, that is validity and practicality. The handout were validated by 4validators categorized as valid with the value 3,35 and categorized as practical bythe teacher with percentage 87,01%. Then, by the students categorized as verypractical with percentage 85, 40%. From this research, it is produced a productnamely handout based on a realistic approach for the materials of algabraicoperations in mathe amtics learning grade VIII at SMPN 20 Padang that valid andcan be used.

Abstract

The students’ learning achievement in mathematics was still low. The students whotended to be quiet, be unwilling to ask questions and expressing ideas on somethingunclear, had less responsibility and skill to learn were assumed as the causes of thisproblem. The purpose of this research was to reveal whether the use of LearningStarts with a Question (LSQ) active learning strategy affected the students’ learningachievement, and what the students’ attitude toward and their skills are after thestrategy applied in class XI IIS of SMAN 16 Padang. This was a pre-experimentalresearch which used pretest and post-test group design. The population of theresearch was the students in class XI IIS of SMAN 16 Padang. Of the sample, classXI IIS 1 was taken as the sample. The gotten was analyzed by using t-test in whichthe value of tcalculated (26,86) was bigger than ttable (2,08) and was 0,05. The resultof the observation indicated that the average score of the students’ attitude was 3,01and their skill was 2,94. Hance , it was concluded that the use of Learning Startswith a Question (LSQ) active learning strategy affected the students’ learningachievement, the students’ attitude had been good, and their learning skill improved.

Abstract

The background of this research is be the need of subtance study to learningprocess. The kind of subtance study has used textbook. Textbook do not yet tobring a problem at first lesson and do not yet to facility student to autodidact. Toallied has expanded subtance study at mathematical module based discoverylearning at phythagoras theorem subject. The purpose of research is to knowvalidity and practicality module based discovery learning. The kind of research isdevelopment by use of 4D’S model. 4D’S model comprise with 4 step is define,design, develop and dessiminate. The result of validity test module baseddiscovery learning by validator to present that module based disvery learning hanecriteria very valid is on the average 3, 34. Where as the result of practicality bystudent and teacher to indicate module based discovery learning at category verypractical as 88,9%. So that be able to conclusion module based discovery learningat pythagoras theorem subject is very valid and very practical.
