Abstract

The background of the research is textual book that less support the student to learn to find a concept independently. This research has purpose to develop guided discovery-based module on equation and identity of trigonometry subjects that valid and practical in class X MIA SMAN 1 Rambatan. The kind of study is research and development with IDI model. The define stage consist of syllabus analysis, text book analysis, literature analysis, and interview by teacher and student. Develop section is done the planning of module. Then, evaluation section is done exam validity and practicality. The results of exam module validity shows that this module on characteristic wich very valid namely 83%. The results of exam practicality by the teacher shows that this module on characteristic wich practical namely 78% and the result of exam practicality by the student shows that this module on characteristic which very practical namely 96%. It can be concluded that guided discovery-based module on equation and identity of trigonometry subjects is valid and practical.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students’ low mathematics conceptual understanding and the discussion which was dominated by the students having higher ability. This then had made the learning process became unpleasant. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of the research was all of the first year students of SMPN 11 Padang registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. As the sample, the students in class VII.E was taken as the experimental group, and those in class VII.D was chosen as the control group. The instrument of the research was an essay post-test whose reliability was r11=0,74. The data gotten was analyzed by using MINITAB. The result of data analysis showed that P-value was 0,037 which was smaller than . Hence, it was concluded that mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Course Review Horay active learning method was better than that of students taught by using conventional laerning in the first year of SMPN 11Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to find out whether concept understanding student’smathematicalin implementation of active study strategy Synergetic Teaching typewith Group Study is better than concept understanding student’s mathematicalinimplementation conventional study at SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang KabupatenPasaman Barat. The research method that was used by experimental method. Thepopulation is seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang KabupatenPasaman Barat. The technique of taking sample was random which one VII4grade as experimental class and VII 3 grade as control class. The collecting ofdata that is used in this research is posttest in forming essay. After analyzing data,it was found that the result study of student in experimental class with average77,21 is more high than control class wit average 63,74. The result of t-test is got3,20 > 1,673. It can be concluded that concept understanding studentsmathematical in implementation of active study strategy Synergetic Teaching typewith Group Study is better than concept understanding student’s mathematicalinimplementation conventional study at seventh SMPN 2 Lembah MelintangKabupaten Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

This developmental research was based on the teaching materials such astextbooks used by students could not construct the way of students thingking,independent learning, and the students could not relate the learning materialswhich have been studied into the daily life. The attemp done to solve the problemsis by developing teaching materials in the form of a module-based of ContextualTeaching and Learning (CTL). This research is aimed to determine the validityand to find out the practicality of module-based CTL in the materials about theimplementation of algebra in solving the social arithmetic problems. This type ofresearch was developmental research by using 4-D model. It was done until thephase of development. According to validators, it was found that the result of thevalidity was valid. The result of the practicality of the module from the studentsand teachers expressed that the module was very practical.

Abstract

This research was conducted as the textbooks provided could not help the students much in the learning process, so that learning materials designed directly by the teacher was needed. These materials should enable the students to learn independently, and they should be easy to be understood, have communicative language and are effective to improve the students’ problem solving ability. Therefore, a problem-based Student Worksheet for teaching assemblage topic was developed. This research was aimed at developing problem-based Student Worksheet which was valid and practical. This was a developmental research which used 4-D model consisting of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The defining phase consisted of syllabus and Lesson Plan analysis, textbook analysis, the students’ characteristics analysis, and interview done to the teacher and the students. In the designing phase, the problem-based Student Worksheet was developed. In the developing phase, the Student Worksheet was tested its validity and practicality. The result of the validity test showed that the Student Worksheet developed was valid (3,63) and the result of the practicality indicated that Student Worksheet was very practical (84%)

Abstract

This research was background by the use of teaching materials that do notcontain all the material students systematically with basic competence. Requiredinstructional materials that guide students to learn independently in the form ofmodules. The module is a module which was developed based guided discovery.This study aims to develop a guided discovery-based modules for material TribeMany valid and practical in high school Tamansiswa Padang. This type ofresearch is the development of research, this development using 4-D modelsconsisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. In this study,the research phase is limited to the extent that stage develop the validity andpracticalities. The research instrument is (1) sheet validation, (2) questionnairepracticalities and (3) guidelines for the interview. 3,2 Validation module has avalidity of a valid category. questionnaire results practicality with pratikalitas85,63% teachers have very practical category. The results of the questionnairepracticality with 94,08% students have pratikalitas very practical category. It canbe concluded that the guided discovery-based modules for learning the materialpolynomials in high school math class XI IPA Tamansiswa Padang that has beengenerated can be declared valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by student less moment concentration while learning and understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low. This study aims to determine whether there is any effect of the application of cooperative learning model Jigsaw II with Embedded-Test the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts. This research is a pre-experiment with one shot case study design use simple linier regression. The population in this study were students class XI IPA SMAN 1 Lenganyang enrolled in the school year 2014/2015. The sampling technique was randomly. The sample in this study is a class XI IPA3. The instrument used in this study is the final test. Based on the analysis of the data shows that there are significant cooperative learning model Jigsaw II with the Embedded-Test for the math concepts students comprehenshion. 55,74% variations in understanding the concept influenced by Jigsaw II with Embedded-Test. That means there is some positive relationship or the direction of a relationship between cooperative learning model Jigsaw II a long with understanding the concept of Embedded-Test.

Abstract

This research has background with geometry subject abstractive and the material that less guided student to apply geometry subject on daily activity. This research has purpose to know validity and practicality module based on contextually to geometry subject that developed in class X SMA PGRI 1 Padang. The kinds of study are research and development by 4-D model. On define section consists of syllabus analysis, text book analysis, literature analysis and observation with teacher and student. Design section is done planning of module based on contextually, then develop section is done exams validity and practicality. The result of exam module validity shows that this module on characteristic which very valid namely 83%. Result of exam practicality by the teacher shows that this module on practice characteristic namely 80% and the result exam practicality by the student shows that this module on characteristic which very practice namely 84%. The conclusion that module based on contextually on geometry subject is develop by valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is background by the comprehending of students mathematic concept is still low. And the students do not have the braveness to give share their idea. The aim of this research to see while Cooperative Learning Tipe Two stay Two Stray has significant effect to comprehend the students mathematic concept . The type of this research is experimental research by using pre test and post test group. The population of students of second grade of social senior high school of 14 Padang. The instrument used in this research is comprehending students concept in essay test with the reliability 0,79. Based on the calculating of t-test is found ttest = 4.41 , it shows that it is bigger than 𝑡0,025=2,04 . it show that the hypothesis is accepted. So that there is significant effect by using Cooperative Learning Type Two stay Two Stray in students mathematic concept comprehending for the second grade of social concentration senior high school of 14 Padang .

Abstract

This research was background by students understanding of mathematical concept in class VIII SMP 2 Lubuk Sikaping academic year 2013/2014 that was still low, the students were not brave to perform and give their opinion in front of the class. The pupose of this research was know about students understanding of mathematical concept that used spotlight strategy better than with used conventional learning and see how students growth understanding of mathematical concept whit apply spotlight strategy at class VIII SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping. Type of research was experiment research, with the type of randomized trials on the subject. The form of the test was used in this research was descriptive with reliabilities test 0.950. Technic of analyze the data was used test t one side, and hypothesis test results obtained ttable value = 1.677 and t = 1.852. The hypothesis was accepted because t > ttable, there for the hypothesis was given accepted at real level α = 0.05. It can be concluded that students understanding of mathematical concept with apply spotlight strategy was better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning at class VIII SMP 2 Lubuk Sikaping.
