Abstract

This research motivated by the need of teaching material in the learning process. The teaching material is expected to facilitate and guide the students to learn independently and to make easier in finding and understanding the concept correctly. There is only text book used as the teaching material. There is only text book used as the teaching material. Therefore, it is developed the LKS as teaching material base on guided discovery learning in the social aritmatic topic. This research is suppose to find out validity and practicality of LKS base on guided discovery. The type of this research is development research used 4-D model consists of fours steps: phase define, design, develop, and disseminate. The result of LKS validation based on guided discovery by the validator shows that LKS based on guided discovery got high validity: 4,33. Test of practicality by the students shows that LKS based on guided discovery is very practical: 89,27%. It can be conclude that LKS based on guided discovery is very valid and very practical.

Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of student’s math conceptunderstanding and courage to ask to the teachers than to the other students. Theresearch aims to determine whether there is an influence of math conceptunderstanding in applying the Active Learning Strategy of the Learning Cell type.The type of the research is a pre experimental research with pre-test and post-testdesign. The population of the research is the students of VIII grade of PublicJunior High School (SMPN) 2 Lubuk Sikaping, Pasaman Regency. The researchuses a random sampling technique. The instruments used are pre-test and posttestin the form of essay. The technique of data analyzing used is t test. Based onthe finding of the research, the result of data analysis shows that the result of ttest is got the value of t count = 11,91531 and t table = 2,06 because − << . It means that the research hypothesis is accepted. It can also beconcluded that there is an influence of student’s Math concept understanding byapplying the Active Learning Strategy of the Learning Cell type to the student’sMath concept understanding of VIII grade students of Public Junior High School(SMPN) 2 Lubuk Sikaping, Pasaman Regency.

Abstract

The background of this research is lack of student’s understanding of mathematics concepts. The aim is to determine the student’s understanding of mathematics concepts by applying strategy “Roda Keberuntungan” is better than conventional learning class VII SMPN 1 Pulau Punjung. The type of the research was experimental research, the study design was random to subjek. The Populasion of the student’s in class VII grade SMPN 1 Pulau Punjung. The random sampling techniques, VII7 class as the experimental class and VII6 as the Control class. The instrument is a test of understanding of mathematic concept. Reliability of the test is 0.864. The data analysis technique use t test. From testing hypotheses obtained P-value = 0.003 less than α (0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematics concepts apply “Roda Keberuntungan” strategy in better than the student’s understanding of mathematics concepts with conventional learning.

Abstract

The background of the research is a textbook teaching material which has not been able to train the students to solve the problems. The learning stages of solving problem-based math module of the research follow the problem solving strategy steps, i.e, (1) understanding the problem, (2) planning the solution, (3) solving the problem based on the planning and (4) doing the recheck. The development model referenced is the model of 4D development consisting 4 stages. They are defining stage, desingning stage, developing stage and disseminating stage. The result of module validity test by validator show that the module is very valid criteria, i.e,3.32. It is reviewed from the aspects of content, presentation, language, readability and graph. The teacher practical test result show that the module is in the practical criteria, i.e,73.33% and the student practical test result show that the module is in the very practical criteria, i.e, 81.06%.

Abstract

This research was background by the students understanding of math conceptswas still low in grade IX MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang. The purpose this researchis knowing students understanding of math concept that apply cooperativelearning model with Domino Game strategy better than using conventionallearning at grade IX MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang. Types of this research israndom toward the subject. The research instrument was test understanding ofmath concept. The form of test was used description form with reability test0.848. Technique of analysis data that was used t-test of one party. Based on theresult of hypothesis test was gotten value ttabel = 1.6692 and thitung = 4.2639.Because thitung > ttabel, the research hypothesis was accepted at significance level α= 0.05. It can be concluded that the students understanding of math concept thatapply cooperative learning with Domino Game strategy better than studentsunderstanding of math concepts with conventional learning at grade IX MTsNLubuk Buaya Padang with 95% confidence level.

Abstract

The background of the research is that the student’s Math learning result is low inthe VIII grade of Public Junior High School 1 Lunang in academic year2013/2014. One of the efforts conducted is applying the cooperative type learningstrategy of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). The type of the researchis pre-experiment with the design model, i.e. One Shot Case Study. The subjectselection on this research is all of the students of the VIII.5 class of Public JuniorHigh School 1 Lunang in academic year 2013/2014. The research instruments arepost-test and quiz. The post-test is to see the student’s Math learning result andquiz is to see the development of student’s learning result of the average grade forevery meeting with the instrument reliabilities r11 = 0.86. The research resultshows that the development of student’s Math learning results always increasesfor every meeting. Meanwhile, the result of student’s post-test grade compared tothe Minimum Accomplishing Criteria (KKM) set shows that there 18 studentsaccomplished with the percentage, i.e. 69,2 % and 8 students are notaccomplished with the percentage, 30.7%

Abstract

The background of the research is base on module that used by the teacher inlearning process still low in creasing student’s motivation and contructionstudent’s knowledge. It means that, module as source in learning is not be able tocreate interesting activity in learning process. It needs to develope teachingmaterial like module base on discovery learning. The research is focus onmaterial about geometry. The purpose of this research is creating module in mathlearning base on discovery learning in validly and practically in geometry subjectat senior high school 2 Ranah Pesisir. In designing this research, researcher used4-D. There are three steps have done. Those are define, design, and develop. Theresult showed that module in math learning base on discovery learning was validwhich precentage 85%. It was also practice which precentage 84%. Thus,module that used base on indicators such as benefit, easy to understand, andinteresting.

Abstract

This research was motivate by comprehension of mathematical concepts students are still low and the responsibility of students in mathematics learning is still lacking. The aims of this study to determine the students understanding of mathematical concepts with apply the active learning strategies to influence the type of Quiz Team of grade VIII3 SMPN 2 Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota after implemented active learning strategy of type Quiz Team. This type of research is the study of pre-experimental research design Pre-test and Post-test Group. The Subjects in the research is VIII3 SMPN 2 Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. From the research that has been done shows the average post-test score of students (71.72) is higher than the average pre-test score of students (29.97). It is proved that there was an effect of the use of active learning of strategies types Quiz Team of student understanding of mathematical concepts. In addition, hypothesis testing using t-test were put forward by Arikunto (2010 : 124) obtained t value of 13.22 > ttable is only 2.06, the hypothesis accepted. It can be conclude that were significant implementation of active learning strategies type Quiz team of students comprehension of mathematical concepts in class VIII3 SMPN 2 Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota.

Abstract

This research was motivated because of the students difficulties in constructing theconcepts, and lack of the learning sources that facilitate the students to learnindependently is still lacking, and students difficult was to understand the material on avast circle, circumference, area segment, central angle and the angle circumference. Toovercome these problems, the constructivis based module was developed for circlematerial. This study aimed to develop a valid and practicalities module basedconstructivism in SMPN 2 Bayang. This type of research was a development research.This study used model of 4-D which consisted of 4 phases: definition, design,development and disseminate phases. This study was only done in 3 phases. Thedevelopment phase was done to see the validity and practicality. The result showed thatthe module which had been developed based constructivism was valid and verypracticality according to the mathematicians and linguists.

Comprehension of mathematical concept of students that still low, cause studentthat still to consider mathematic of difficult student lessons and make bored. Sothat interest for study of student is insufficient. To overcome this problem soimplemented of learning process by applying sucker ball game. The purpose ofthis research is to see the whether by applying sucker ball game to have animpact to comprehension of mathematical concept of student in class XI SOSSMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti. This was an pre/experimental research which usedOne-shot case study research design. The population of research is the student inclass XI SOS SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti. The selection of sample in this researchwhich used random toward the subject. Class XI SOS 2 that selected of sampleclass. The instrument used in this research is a quis and finish test the essay typeby reliability test =0,6125. So, it was concluded that the sucker ball game tohave impact for the students comprehension of mathematical concept.
