Abstract

The research is a quantitative research that aims to determine the effect of the display and content on the effectiveness of promotions through the website on PT. Elegant Tour and Travel Medan.This research is conducted by observing PT. Elegant Tour and Travel Medan's website directly. Data collection methods are conducted by spreading online questioners to 96 respondents. The sample selection technique using random sampling. Data from 96 respondents were then analyzed through multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 20.The result showed adjusted r square value of 0,440 means that 44% of the effectiveness of promotion through the website is influenced by display and content while about 56% is influenced by another factors out of research. The result of testing regression coefficient simultaneously obtained f count of 38,324 > f table which is 3,09 with significance value 0,000 < 0,05. Partial result of hypothesis testing obtained t count of display > t table content (2,275>1,98552) and t count content > t table (8,077>1,98552). From this test it can be conclude that display and content have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of promotion through the website on PT. Elegant Tour and Travel Medan. Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe “the existence of pedicab in developing tourism in Malioboro” which is viewed from the perception of pedicab driver toward the tourism in Malioboro and the strength and the obstacle of pedicab. Malioboro is one of the tourist objects in the City of Yogyakarta that currently still to place the public transportation non motorized such as pedicab in developing the tourism in Malioboro. Its existence is also one of the tourism activities in the region have made as the beautiful one for tourists. This research is a descriptive qualitative. The data is collected through an observation, an interview and literature review. The result of the research shows that the perception of pedicab driver toward its tourism is good. There is progress of tourism in Malioboro street. Second, it can be viewed from the strengths and the obstacles of pedicab. The strength shows that pedicab is a means of promotion and advertisement of tourism in Malioboro. The pedicab is an icon of Yogyakarta, especially in Malioboro. The obstacle is the existence of competitor in the field. This condition makes the difficulties for the pedicab as non motorized transportation. In economic aspect, this phenomenon will influence the economic life of the pedicab driver. Keywords: perception, tourism and transportation.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the application of the principles of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) in food processing in the Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta main kitchen as an effort to ensure food security. The design of this study is qualitative research conducted at the Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta in May 2017. Data collection uses in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. From the results of interviews and observations it is known that the determination of hazard identification is in accordance with HACCP provisions, the determination of critical control points (CCP) has been focused on activities that are considered critical can cause danger, have set critical limits at each critical control point established, monitoring implementation has been focused at each critical control point and monitored by the Hygiene Officer 2 (two) times per day, has established corrective actions for each critical control point that is not able to reach the critical limit, verification actions have been carried out and have been scheduled, HACCP design documentation activities and other documents have been do. The results of this study are that the application of the principles of HACCP in food processing in main kitchen has been well implemented in accordance with the standards so that it can be said that the processing of food in the Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta main kitchen has guaranteed food security for guests. Abstract

This study aims to identify the response of tourists in Jatimulyo Tourism Village towards the plan of developing birdwatching tourism. Birds have a strong attractiveness for certain groups of people, such as bird hobbies due to their diverse characteristics which have a high selling value. Jatimulyo Tourism Village is one of the tourism villages known for its bird diversity. Regarding that situation, the Jatimulyo government issued a Village Regulation (so-called Peraturan Desa or PerDes) about prohibition of hunting activities. It was already applied by sanctioning wild-life hunters, including bird hunter. However, the application of PerDes was not strong enough to protect the bird diversity. Thus, there must be alternatives program by utilizing the bird diversity to give economic advantages for the people. Birdwatching tourism is one of the alternatives and there is possibility to develop it in this village, considering this village has already been recognized as tourism village. This research was a quantitative research and employing survey with questionnaire as the instrument. There were 100 questionnaires given to the tourists in Jatimulyo Tourism Village to gather valid data. The term of birdwatching is still a foreign term for the people. The observation results show that most of the tourists had ever heard the term but did not know its meaning. However, most of the tourists were agreed with the alternative of developing this tourism village with birdwatching as one of the attractions but in one condition i.e. the tour package was not more than one day with affordable budget. They also wanted bird observation and photography as the activities of birdwatching. Furthermore, they needed professional guide to guide them along the tour. Abstract

This paper intends to reveal some teaching of the Javanese Leadership found in some Javanese literaturesas well as wejangan (advice). These teaching generally exposed variety of moralethics. The leadership philosophy also exhibits a natural form of creativity, sense, initiative and work in addition. These teaching require a leader to have attributes of “Ksatria Utama” This is Ksatria who is expected to apply the concept of “Jumbuhing Kawula Gusti”. This concept becomes the foundation power, leadership and humanity. In this way, he is believed to be able to realize his country as one which is prosperous and peaceful.A letter who is capable to be a “Prior Knight” is a person who has morality and characteristic as symbolized in the character of the puppet “SEMAR” in Javanese culture. “Semar” as a servant is able to defent “Raja Dewa” (The King of God) and “Bathara Guru”. This capability is created when the mind reflects higher thinking level or wise opinion, then this mind will guide the leader Semar in this his wise character is capable to normalize the general prosperity. Abstract

Malasari village is a village located in the Halimun Salak Mountain National Park. During this time the community utilizing national park area for the sake of the livelihood of particularly with regard to forest products. Later in its development with the potential of nature, the tour be an alternative solution for the people of the village of Malasari. The purpose of this research is to know the form of participation by the village of Malasari in the development of Ecotourism Halimun. This research used the qualitative approach with descriptive analytical method. The collection of data using interviews and observations in the field. The data collected was then analysed qualitatively the results showed that the participation of the community of the village of Malasari was formed in 4 stages, namely the participation in decision-making, implementation and utilization as well as evaluation. Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of batik as an attraction for tourist villages. This research was conducted in the needle village of Bayat sub-district, Klaten district, Central Java province. Types of data collected in this study are qualitative data, namely the potential of batik as an attraction for tourist villages in the needle village of Bayat district, Klaten district, Central Java province. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, documentation. Abstract

Kabupaten Sleman has many tourist attraction objects that can be used as tourist destinations for anyone. The attraction of this city includes the panorama of nature, history, museums, culture, ancient relics, culinary and tourist villages. The number of tourist villages in Sleman regency is in accordance with the data of the Sleman Regency Culture and Tourism Office (Fauzy & Putra, 2015), as many as 38 tourist villages. The tourism village management base generally involves many parties, including by empowering local communities as local communities who play an active role in managing and developing tourism villages. However, according to (Damanik, 2013), "The weak point of the local community in managing tourism services is networking and promotion capabilities". The success of the tourism village manager in influencing the perception of visitors with their promotional tools can trigger the decision to visit. In this case, the right selection of promotional tools (promotional mix) is very important in addition to attracting tourists, as well as the progress of the tourism village itself. The number of tourist visits is a measure of the success of managers in developing the right promotional strategies. The constraints faced by the manager of the tourist village of Kembangarum Turi Sleman Yogyakarta are related to the weak network for promotion. A promotion has been carried out both conventionally and through internet media but not yet interactive, thus reducing the understanding of the wider community of the existence of the Kembangarum tourism village. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method assisted with quantitative data tabulation. The results of the study with relevant data that is read indicate the trend of a shift in the implementation of promotional strategies with media that are conventional to modern with the help of information technology, especially the internet since the period 2015/2016. The conclusions of this study include: it is known that the most optimal use of conventional promotional media is by providing brochures, and word of mouth information. Whereas in the span of the last three years the promotion has focused more on online promotional media through social networks that have been owned by the tourism village manager of Kembangarum. This shift in promotion strategy proved to have an impact on increasing the number of tourist village visitors, especially in the period of 2016/2017 where this promotional strategy began to be implemented since the period of 2015/2016. Abstract

The research entitled The Effect of Substitution of Soybean Flour on Biscuit Quality is a type of research using quantitative approach with experimental method. The purpose to know the effect of quality biscuit with soybean flour substitution with different percentage that is equal to 50%, 25% and 10% viewed from aspect of color, flavor, aroma and texture. The experiments used 3 different types of treatment on the percentage of soy flour used ie, biscuit A with 50% soy flour, biscuit B with 25% soy flour, and C biscuits with 10% soy flour.Methods of data collection using subjective assessment of sensory tests taken from the results of a panelist assessment that includes assessment of color, aroma, taste and texture on biscuits. The panel of researchers was 30 people taken by random sampling technique with considerations that included panelist knowledge about the sensory properties of biscuits in general. Methods of data analysis to test the hypothesis using the analysis of single classification variables and tukey test, previously conducted prasarat test that is homogeneity test and normality test. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of natural tourist attraction (attractions, aminity, accessibility) on the performance of nature-based tourism businesses. The unit of analysis of this study was 207 tourists visiting to Hutan Mangrove Pantai Baros Bantul, Hutan Mangrove Wana Tirta, Pantai Pasir Kadilangu, dan Hutan Mangrove Jembatan Api-Api Temon Kulonprogo taken by incidental sampling technique. the data was collected by a questionnaire validated with pathwhole and cronbach alpha. Normality and multicollinearity tests were used to test the feasibility of variables as a condition for the use of partial regression analysis. The findings of this study show the long-term impact of satisfaction and a significant revisit on the absorption of labor and income of local communities as an important of the business performance of the nature-based tourism.
