Abstract

This article investigates how Shaykh Yusuf al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa, and contribution, through the purification of beliefs (aqīda) of Muslims, which is inspired by the author's research in Indonesia till Leiden, the Netherlands. This article utilized a qualitative descriptive method with a comprehensive religious history approach, for describing and identifying al-Maqassarī’s profile, his da‘wa through the purification of beliefs of the Muslim community that contributes and plays an important role towards social changes in South Sulawesi. The result showed that Shaykh Yūsuf (1626-1699), a moderate ṣūfī from Eastern Indonesia who is still one of the ahl al-Bayt. He wandered to several parts of the world to deepen his understanding of Islamic mysticism. He holds the title ‘wālī quṭb al-Rabbānī wa al-'Árif al-Ṣamaḍānī’ and is well known for his Waḥdat al-Ṣamad view. He was a prolific writer, fighter, and human rights defender until his exile, initially to Ceylon, then to Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa. Today, he has become a National Hero of Indonesia and South Africa. His main teaching is the purification of beliefs (aqīda). All practices and worship are directed to the Oneness of God and nothing else. This teaching has become the basis of his reformist ideas, to transform his animistic society into fervent Muslims, especially in South Sulawesi, and then to be implemented into his Ṭarīqat Khalwatiyyat al-Yusufiyya (Yusufiyya). This article will benefit the South Sulawesi community in particular and Indonesia in general, and be a reference for future researchers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of da'wah management functions in religious activities at the Al-Ikhlash Mosque, Marindal 1 Village. The mosque as the center of community development requires good management so that da'wah activities run optimally. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field study methods through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the functions of da'wah management-planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating-have been systematically applied by the mosque management. The application of these functions plays an important role in increasing the effectiveness of religious programs, strengthening congregational participation, and making the mosque a center of community empowerment. However, there are also challenges such as limited resources and uneven congregational involvement. Therefore, inclusive and flexible management is needed so that da'wah remains relevant and sustainable. The results of the study prove that careful planning, good coordination, and regular evaluation can increase the effectiveness of religious activities in this mosque. This study makes it clear that good da'wah management through the application of appropriate management functions will increase the effectiveness of religious activities, so that they can benefit the wider community.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of digital communication, particularly through social media, in the process of social empowerment by local communities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study on the youth community in Tungka Village, Enrekang. The results show that the use of social media such as Instagram and WhatsApp is strategically able to increase member participation, build a wider social network, and strengthen the collective identity of the community. In addition to being a tool for disseminating information, social media is also a space for discussion, negotiation of meaning, and decision-making among community members, which ultimately encourages collaboration and social solidarity. However, challenges such as limited digital literacy and access to infrastructure are obstacles that need to be overcome so that digital communication can take place effectively and inclusively. This article recommends strengthening digital literacy, training on the use of social media, and increasing access to technology as important strategies to support the effectiveness of empowerment communication at the grassroots level. These findings are expected to make practical and theoretical contributions to the development of digital technology-based social empowerment in local communities.

Abstract

The development of technology today is increasingly massive. However, this website shows that society has not been able to use da'wah as a guideline to face a change. So in this study the author examines the da'wah kadam sidik regarding technology in the transformation of Islamic messages. Therefore, technology is very much needed for da'wah media. This study discusses the role of technology in the transformation of Islamic messages from Don Ihde's perspective in the Kadam Sidik account. With the aim of providing information about the use of social media as a means to share Islamic messages. In today's modern era, da'wah is expected to handle various increasingly complex problems. Da'wah is an activity that has a goal to invite society towards goodness in the teachings of Islam. Therefore, as humans, we must be able to have awareness first to carry out an activity. Through several ways such as things that encourage humans to be more active in producing goodness including in da'wah activities. An influencer named Kadam Sidik He is a preacher who teaches the book Arba'in Nawawi on his YouTube account with the channel name Mata Naqra, through this platform he can connect with his fans from various circles, such as men and women, with his expertise in providing knowledge about the Hadith of the Prophet contained in the book Arba'in Nawawi. This study uses a qualitative literature study method.

Abstract

Pada akhir tahun 2024 Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting (OCCRP) yang merupakan organisasi jurnalisme investigasi Internasional merilis daftar nama pemimpin dunia yang masuk dalam finalis tokoh terkorup dunia. Dalam daftar nama finalis person of the year 2024 untuk kategori kejahatan organisasi dan korupsi tersebut nama mantan Presiden RI ketujuh terdapat [i]didalamnya. hal ini menghasilkan produksi wacana dari berbagai pihak sebagai usaha mendukung maupun menolak rilis OCCRP Tersebut. Ditengah polemik ini, Media online Tempo.co membuat editorial berjudul “Jokowi dalam liga korupsi dunia”.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis wacana yang diproduksi oleh tempo.co dalam teks editorial berjudul “Jokowi dalam liga korupsi dunia” secara kritis sebagai sebuah praktik social. Peneltian ini menggunakan metode kulitatif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Norman Fairclogh, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Deskripsi: Judul berita mencerminkan Jokowi adalah tokoh korup tingkat dunia. Interpretasi: Jokowi dan para pendukungya berusaha untuk menolak hasil rilis OCCRP ini. Eksplanasi: wacana ini mereproduksi sebuah bentuk perlawanan terhadap korupsi dan dominasi politik yang melenceng dari demokrasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah ada usaha dalam produksi wacana dalam editorial tempo.co untuk mengingatkan pembaca bahwa korupsi dan pelanggran terhadap demokrasi adalah sebuah hal yang buruk dan memalukan.
