Abstract

Tuwun Mandi is one of the traditions of the village of Pangkalan Indarung located in Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This tradition is held as a welcome for newborns. Which helps as a way for the baby to get acquainted with the world. The purpose of this research is to study the symbolic meaning that exists in this tradition, while the subfocus is the symbolic meaning of competition in the Tuwun Mandi tradition, the product of interaction from the Tuwun Mandi tradition, and the interpretation of the Tuwun Mandi tradition.          This study used qualitative research methods. The informants of this study were determined based on a purposive technique, which consisted of 2 core implementers and 3 general public meaning that all informants in this study had been selected based on certain considerations. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity technique used in this study is triangulation and extension of participation.          The results of this study indicate that, the meaning of the physical object that is all the attributes used such as incense: the prayer will start, chicken: a substitute for life in the hereafter, a knife: a weapon in life, a pot of pot: a barrier to disease and others. social object that is mantra: blessed by the ancestors and prayer: blessing from the almighty god. The meaning of social interaction products for traditional leaders: the identity of the Indarung base community, village midwives: preserving cultural heritage and the general public: so that children get blessed. The meaning of interpretation includes closed actions and open actions. Closed actions are related to motivation and feelings. Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is basically a necessity for corporations to be able to interact with local communities. Corporate needs to adapt in order to get social benefits from its relationship with the local community in the form of trust. In the implementation of CSR required a culture based on ethics that is adaptive. This study aims to determine the activity of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia's social investment program in improving community empowerment in the economic field in Minas, Riau Province. What are the programs that have been created and implemented by the company and the constraints found in the implementation.This study used qualitative research methods. Research subjects consisted of 8 informants selected through purposive technique. Data collection is done through observation, interview and documentation. To test the validity of the data writer used the method of extension of participation and triangulation.The result of this research shows that the activity of Chevron Riau Social Investment Program runs well from the forms of programs run by the company through PRISMA, among others are fishery, handicraft, cassava farming, animal husbandry, and integrated agricultural community. This program is intended for helping to develop communities that are close to the company's concessions while encouraging regional economic growth. PRISMA program proved to improve the quality of the economy and change the mindset of the community to become more productive, improve the welfare of the community around the company's operational area, foster the beneficiary community groups to be independent so as to raise the spirit of group members to develop their business, and grow new business groups.Keyword : Corporate Social Responbility

Abstract

This research was conducted in the area of the Riau Provincial Police Unit. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of family functions in the family of female police (Polwan) in the Riau Regional Police Environment which reflected the family with the dual role of housewives and to find out the pattern of decision making of the female police (Polwan) family in the Riau Regional Police which reflected the existence of division of labor between husband and wife. Determination of informants by using purposive sampling method is the determination of samples based on certain criteria. The author uses qualitative methods with observation, interview and documentation techniques as well as literature studies to collect data and information. From the research conducted by the author, it can be concluded that from the family function, it is still run and implemented properly regularly and in balance with the others. These Policewomen are well aware of their nature as a wife who must be good at dividing time between work and household. Of the 8 family functions, only 6 functions are still carried out and implemented properly regularly and in balance with the others, namely the function of affection, socialization, determination of the status of sexual, reproductive and economic functions. while 2 other functions, namely: less protection and recreation, this is due to the busyness of respondents outside the home so that sexual and reproductive functions are not going well. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of experiential marketing on brand awareness as well as their impact on buying interest (Study on smartphones, Samsung Electronic Indonesia branches pekanbaru). This research method in this research is quantitative with program SPSS, where samples were used that visitors to the store as many as 100 respondents. To determine the sample, this research uses accidental sampling technique Slovin formula. Data collection through questionnaires.. This study has shown that the results of hypothesis testing t test, t known t (11.004)> t table (1.984) and Sig. (0.000) <0.05. That is experiential marketing variables significantly influence brand awarenes. t (11.082)> t table (1.984) and Sig. (0.000) <0.05. Abstract

This research aim to explain the effectiveness of European Union economic sanction against Russia through the annexation of Crimean Peninsula by Russia. Crimea is a major land mass on the Northern Coast of the black Sea. On March 2014, Crimean separatist group make a voting and the result shows most of voters want to join the Russian State. This action was followed soon by Russia’s annexation. Russia have been violated many international agreements and bring it to the condemnation by international community. European Union as a regional organization imposed economic sanctions against Russia.This case will be analyzed in international system level within liberalism paradigm and interdependence theory. System Level Analysis gave general pattern about the nation behavior and inter-nation interdependency while liberalism assumes that trade relation will create a good relation on international relation.Opposite with the relation between European Union and Russia nowadays. European Union and Russia have interdependence on trade relation before the crisis. Economic sanctions that imposed by European Union against Russia doesn’t work. Economic sanctions also inflict European Union as sanction’s giver. Russia kept holding Crimea as its territory because of its own interest on Crimea.Keywords : annexation, economic sanction, interdependency

Abstract

This research was conducteds in pekanbaru city, with comparison about five area, the goals that reached are : (a) to study the pattern district segregation of society pekanbaru, (b) to understand the impact that caused by district segregation,. The theory that used in this research are the social contruction, AGIL concept, and system of town. According to the population, a given 80 partisipant as the sampel of the research that used quantitative descriptive method and sampling cluster technique.According to the research has got a conclusion that, there are a similarity and dissimilarity in figuration of district segregation, the greatest factor which influence made of district segregation are economy and job sector, intervention and inregration. The effect which caused of district segregation existence, viewed by fungtional perspective, and find the result, that district segregation make affect the value of society integration and consolidate relation and interaction society inside the district range.Key words : Pattern, District Segregation, Integration

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze Chinese Traders in Pasar Tengah Kota Pekanbaru. This research is qualitative research which analyzed by desktriptif. The theory used in this research is work ethic theory and cultural value orientation by Kluckhohn. In this research Number of informants there are 6 people. Sampling technique is Purposive Sampling. Results from the field said that the ethos of work owned Chinese traders there are six factors that mempengrauhinya namely; Religion, social politics, environmental conditions, education, economic structure, intrinsic motivation. The work ethic greatly affects Chinese merchant business. And in running the business the Chinese also must be able to determine the type of komuditi who want to be a business. This type of commodity also determines the success of the business run by Chinese merchants. The Chinese believe strongly in luck or what is often called Feng Shui. Abstract

Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi is one of the 4-star hotels in the Bukittinggi. High competition and ups and downs of occupancy rates in the last 4 years makes the company must have a strategy to maintain the occupancy of consumers so that each year purchasing decisions increase. This research was conducted to determine the effect of facilities on consumer purchasing decisions. This study uses a quantitative method with a statistical approach. Data obtained from 100 respondents who stayed at the Grand Rocky Hotel Bukittinggi. Then the data obtained were analyzed using multiple regression analysis: validity and reliability tests, classic assumption tests, multiple regression analysis, hypothesis testing through t and F tests, and analysis of the coefficient of determination (R2). An adjusted R square value of 0.505 indicates that the facility affects the stay decision by 50.5 percent. Keywords: Facilities, Stay Decisions, Hotels

Abstract

LINE TODAY is a feature provided by chat based social media, i.e. LINE. Feature LINE TODAY provides the latest information from a variety of categories. The information is delivered directly to the user via a personal chat notifications. In theory the Uses and Gratification audiences essentially using mass media based on certain motifs, where the media is considered trying to meet the needs of khalayaknya. The purpose of this study, i.e. to find out how big the influence of motive media use the LINE TODAY against user satisfaction on student, Faculty of social and political sciences of the University of Riau, where the audience is the research on college students by using the media LINE TODAY.The method used in this research is quantitative method of explanation , the data collection through questionnaires. The location of the research done in the environmental school of social and political sciences of the University of Riau. The number of samples in this research as much as 96 respondents. Withdrawal of samples using techniques unknown populations. To find out how big the influence both of these variables, the researchers used a simple linear regression analysis. For the processing of data is carried out using a questionnaire, the statistical program Product And Service Solution (SPSS) Windows version 23.Based on the results of a simple linear regression for this research, the regression coefficient values obtained in this study were Y = 2.860 + 0.917 with significance level of 0.0000 and smaller than α = 0.05. Whereas on the basis of test results obtained, the determination of 71.70%. That is, there is a strong influence among the motives of the use of the media LINE TODAY against user satisfaction on student, Faculty of social and political sciences of the University of Riau. While the rest of 28.30% are influenced by other indicators that are not included in this study, then it means that the Ha received Ho denied.Keywords: social media, LINE TODAY, motive, gratification, satisfaction

Abstract

The competition in the economic sector is very diverse, especially in the industrial world in order to ensure the sustainability of the business, many companies no longer rely on marketing strategies, but also to prevent the occurrence of losses on aspects of occupational safety and health (OSH) and environmental protection. EMP conducts Instructional Communication activities that are implemented in SHE Talk activities, ie Toolbox Meeting and Pre Job Safety Meeting prior to perform the work at field. This study aims to determine the credibility of communicators, what are methods and instructional communication media used in SHE Talk activities as an effort to prevent the occurrence of occupational accidents and illness.This research uses qualitative research with descriptive approach. The subjects consisted of 9 persons selected using Purposive Sampling technique, based on predetermined criteria.. Data collection techniques in this study with in-depth interviews, non-participant observation and documentation. The technique of data validity in this research is extension of participation and triangulation.The results showed that the credibility of communicators can be seen from the expertise. Safety Officer, must follow some International qualifications, one of them is OHSAS 18001: 2007 Certified Lead Auditor, and follow Modern Safety Management Training to become Supervisor and Superintendent. In addition, the belief that is visible from the assertive and clear attitude when leading the activities of meeting toolbox and pre job safety meeting and have extensive knowledge. Instructional communication method used the command , question and answer method, where Safety Officer, Superintendent and Supervisor lead this activity by giving directions about what work will be done today, what are the risks, and how to prevent accident.
