Abstract

In the 2019 presidential and vice presidential elections, the participation of voters with disabilities in Pekanbaru City was very low. So it is very interesting to know the conditions of political orientation and voting behavior for people with disabilities in the 2019 presidential and vice presidential elections. This study aims to determine the political orientation and voting behavior of persons with disabilities in the 2019 presidential election.This study uses three approaches to political orientation, namely cognitive orientation, affective orientation and evaluative orientation. Choosing behavior also has three kinds of approaches, namely the sociological approach, the psychological approach and the rational choice approach. This research is structured based on qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation with informants who have been determined by the researcher.The results of this study indicate that the political orientation of persons with disabilities has three approaches. First, the cognitive orientation of persons with disabilities in general elections is good. Second, affective orientation, namely that elections are very important. Voters tend to say that the performance of the election administration at that time was ineffective, which resulted in voters being unable to exercise their voting rights. Third, the evaluative orientation, namely voters assessing the implementation of the 2019 presidential election did not run smoothly, there were still many frauds. Voters also think that a candidate deserves to be chosen because of their good track record and achievements that have been achieved by the candidate. Furthermore, the behavior of choosing persons with disabilities has three approaches. First, the sociological approach of persons with disabilities is influenced by organizations of persons with disabilities, the candidate's performance and religion. Second, the psychological approach of persons with disabilities is influenced by party identification, the issue of foreign workers, and candidate figures who have charismatic characteristics and the candidate's personality. Third, the rational approach of persons with disabilities is influenced by the vision and mission and programs, rationality sensitivity, one's wealth, achievements and debt issues. The tendency of choosing behavior is more influenced by disability organizations. Meanwhile, voters who do not use their voting rights generally do not receive ballots.Keywords: Political Orientation, Voting Behavior, Persons with Disabilities

Abstract

The meaning of beauty for sociology students, faculty of social science and political science, University of Riau. This research was conducted in the department of sociology, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Riau University. The purpose of this research is to find out about the meaning for sociology students either innerbeuaty or outerbeauty and the elements that influence it. In determining the informants, a purposive sampling technique was used, namely active students majoring in sociology class 2017 and having a GPA above 3.50. The number of informants in this study amounted to 5 people. The theory used is Herbert Mead's theory of symbolic interactionism. The results obtained were that all informants interpreted beauty differently and most of them interpreted beauty based on physicality. In interpreting beauty, each informant has their own views or thoughts, but all informants consider that facial hygiene is one of the most important when it comes to physical beauty, while for inner beauty women should have a good heart and character. Not all informants considered that she was beautiful because of the influence of other people's assessments of her and the community environment in which they had social interactions. Keywords: Beauty, Student

Abstract

Forest fire is the burning of forest area both large and small. Forest fires often occur and if they do they will burn anything nearby and follow the direction of the wind. Fire it self can occur because of two things, namely natural fires and fires caused by humans. Forest fires occur every year during the dry season. In Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province between 2013-2017, forest fires almost occurred throughout the year. The problem of forest fires is supported by the weak economic conditions of the community and the low level of community education which greatly affects the management of resources and the environment. So the need for empowerment efforts with the main goal is to improve the quality of life of the community. The participation of local communities in the context of preventing forest and land fires is very important. The success of forest and land fire prevention activities is highly dependent on the success of bringing local people into emotions, feelings and enthusiasm to maintain forest sustainability because the community is more in control of the location and is expected to have more responsibility because the extinguished area is the community area. The direct involvement of the community in a land and forest fire control activity can also encourage public awareness of the importance of controlling forest and land fires and can also encourage community awareness of the importance of fire control early around their area.Success in community empowerment in preventing forest and land fires in Kubu Subdistrict, Rokan Hilir Regency is the encouragement of the community to the importance of controlling forest and land fires early around their area through the formation of fire-fighting teams at the community level or anti-fire community groups that functioned to tackle forest and land fires since early in the area.The results of the study are the implementation of community empowerment in preventing forest and land fires in Kubu District, Rokan Hilir Regency, which is still less than optimal because there are still obstacles in the field, therefore there are four principles that are often used in the success of empowerment programs, namely the principle of equality, the principle of participation, self-sufficiency or independence. So that community empowerment in preventing forest and land fires in Kubu Rokan Hilir District can run optimally so that the creation of people who are empowered in preventing forest and land fires.Keywords: Forest and land fires, Empowerment, and Community.

Abstract

Hotels are one type of accommodation that uses part or all of the building to provide accommodation services, food and drink and other services that are managed commercially. A hotel certainly has a department that has a big role, one of which is the Housekeeping Department. Housekeeping Department is part of the hotel department responsible for cleanliness, tidiness, and comfort of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, bars and other outlets. In the Housekeeping Department there are sections that support their duties including the room boy who has the role of creating a clean, neat and complete room in order to get a good impression for guests who are staying and visiting. As for one of the hotels in Pekanbaru that has the best service, especially in the Housekeeping Department in order to increase guest satisfaction, the Hotel Novotel Pekanbaru is one of the 4-star standard hotels in Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study is to find out how to work and what are the obstacles of implementing the Roomboy Housekeeping department's duties at the Novotel Pekanbaru hotel. In writing this paper, the author uses qualitative data analysis techniques, namely analyzing, describing and summarizing various conditions, situations from various data collected in the form of results from interviews and observations about the problems being investigated that occur in the field. Keywords: hotel, housekeeping department, roomboy

Abstract

The establishment of PLTU in RW 03 affects the surrounding community. In this case the change studied is economic change, economic change will bring economic impacts and social impacts to the surrounding community. Socioeconomic changes that occur can be seen from several aspects, among others: changes in relationships between individuals, changes in behavior patterns, changes in livelihoods and changes in the level of income in society. The problems taken in this study are: (1) What job opportunities are open to the community around the Tenayan Raya power plant ?, (2) What business opportunities are open to the community around the Tenayan Raya power plant ?. This study aims: (1) What job opportunities are open to the community around the Tenayan Raya PLTU, (2) What business opportunities are open to the community around the Tenayan Raya PLTU? The location of this research is RW 03 Kec. Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru City. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The population in this study is the people who live in RW 03 before the construction of the power plant. The sample of this study were 175 Family Cards (50%) of the entire population using simple random sampling. The results of the study explained that the construction of the Tenayan Raya PLTU was to meet the electricity supply in the community, especially for the Central Sumatra region. The construction of the power plant directly or indirectly has an effect on the socio-economic life of the community. The establishment of PLTU creates new jobs in the community. Residents who used to work mostly as farmers now prefer to work at the PLTU even though it is only a rough laborer. Besides the establishment of the PLTU also led to service businesses such as boarding houses and stalls aimed at providing the needs of migrant residents who worked at the PLTU. Changing people's livelihoods automatically leads to increased income in the community. The presence of migrants who live in RW 03 does not significantly affect the lives of local residents.Keywords : Job Opportunities, Business Opportunities

Abstract

Women and politics are a two-word series that is often used as a slogan by political parties ahead of elections. This slogan is intended for women to be interested in donating their votes to such political parties and this makes them indirectly exploited for electoral votes. In 2003, Law No.12 article 65 paragraph (1) on women's quotas was passed, stating that: "every political party of election participants can submit candidates for dprd, provincial parliament, and dprd district/city for each constituency with regard to women at least 30%". The study aims to describe the efforts made by Gustimar to face the 2009 Republican legislative elections, a strategy used by Gustimar to maintain his position as a member of the legislature in the 2014 election, looking at Gustimar's strategy to take office again in the period 2019-2024.This study used 2 (two) theories namely women and politics and political strategy theory. Startegi politics in 2 (two) namely offensive strategy and defensive strategy. Researchers use qualitative research methods that descriptively describe data. The data collection techniques used are interviews and documentation. While the data source used is primary data obtained from the research site in the form of research informants and further supported by secondary data in the form of data documents.The results of this study were found strategies and how to maintain the position of office that Gustimar gained from 3 (three) times this period by approaching nearby people such as family, relatives and neighbors, then forming a successful team to make the sound mapping more targeted, and target the votes obtained each period so that each period could improve the sound results. Keywords : women and politics, political strategy

Abstract

Implementation of the policy is a tool of administration of law where various factors, organization, procedures and techniques that work together to carry out the policy in order to achieve the target or goal that is desired. Law no.24 of 2011 concerning the social security agency is the regulation for protect the workforce. Which becomes the attention of major in the study of this is the policy of employment social security by law no.24 of 2011, which become the problem is there are companies that have not registered their workers as participants BPJS Employment. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation and inhibiting factors of employment social security policy in Pekanbaru. The concept of the theory which is used the theory of the implementation of the policy by Charles O’ Jones (Agustino, 2017) is an organization, interpretation and application.  Research is using the methods of descriptive qualitative by using technique purposive sampling with the technique of collecting data on observation, interviews and documentation. The result of this study indicate that the implementation of the employment social security policy in Pekanbaru still not optimal, especially in the criteria of interpretation and application. The factors inhibiting is lack of education and socialization that is done by BPJS Employment and communicating against the company which led to a lack of knowledge and information that received by the workers.Keywords: Implementation, Policy, Employment Social Security Agency

Abstract

As the largest archipelago country in the world, Indonesia has a lot of natural resources that make the cross border crime occurred in the border area. The widespread of cross border crime get the marine-based countries realize the importance of increasing the security in the marine border. By the awareness of the widespread of crosss border crime propels Indonesia to have vision as the global maritime fulcrum. With that visions Indonesia tries to increas the security in the border area by doing cooperation with the maritime-based countries. One of such countries is Japan which also an archipelago countries by establishing Indonesia-Japan Maritime Forum.This research conducted by using neorealism perspective withthe international cooperation theory and maritime security concept, this reseach used qualitative-descriptive method, the data of the research was obtainde by learning related studies, the data used was secunder data derived from memorandum cooperation between Japan and Indonrsia concerning the establishment of maritime forum and other memorandum which established based on the cooperation Indonesia-Japan Maritime. The result of this research shown the actions which done by the Indonesia government in increasing the security of border area by implementing IJMF cooperation is conducting a strategic dialogue consist of the information exchange establishing working group, building the infrastructure in the border area and implementing the cooperation in eradicating cross border crime such as ilegal fishing and drug trafficking. Keywords: international cooperation, cross border crime, Indonesia, Japan, Indonesia attempt, maritime forum

Abstract

Children are the nation’s generation who have the right and obligation of participate in building Indonesia nationalists. Childen are the subject and object of Indonesia nationalist development. The municiple goverment of Pekanbaru, in this case the womens empowerment and child protection office along with other regional apparatus organization have implemented child-friendly city policy in the city of Pekanbaru to fulfill children’s right and protect children from violence.As for the first research objective to describe the implementation of child-friendly city policies in Pekanbaru city in 2018. And the second, to find out what are the in hibiting factor for implementing child-friendly city policies in Pekanbaru city in 2018. The research method used is qualitative research. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. In collecting data the writer uses interview and documentation thecniques.The result of the study show that in 2018 the implementation of child-friendly city policies in the city of Pekanbaru has implemented a child-friendly city policy. But there are still problems found in the field jue to several factors, both from internal sources such as the lock of labor staff in the women’s empowerment and child protection offices. Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) itself is the development of four main economic activities which are the driving forces for Indonesia's development, namely: Manufacturing Industry, Agribusiness, Marine Business and Human Resources. In addition, MSMEs can also be interpreted as the development of reliable areas to accelerate economic recovery to accommodate priority programs and development of various sectors and potentials. Meanwhile, small businesses are an increase in various community empowerment efforts. The purpose of this research is to find out how to empower MSMEs PT. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk. Perawang, as well as what are the supporting factors for UMKM PT. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk. Perawang. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach, which is descriptive analysis. The qualitative research process involves important efforts, such as asking questions and proposing procedures, gathering specific data from participants, analyzing data inductively from specific themes to general themes, and interpreting the meaning of the data. The results of this study indicate that: first, community empowerment through the PT. UMKM program. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk. Perawang shows pretty good results, this can be seen from the changes felt by the community, especially as evidenced by the increase in community economic results. Second, the supporting factors for the empowerment of MSMEs PT. Indah Kiat Perawang is the existence of stages which are carried out sequentially, namely, the stages of awareness, capacitance and awareness. Keywords: Community empowerment, UMKM Program
