Abstract

The background of this thesis is about Community-Based Sanitation Program Management in Meranti Pandak Village, Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of community-based sanitation program in the Meranti Pandak Village, Pekanbaru City. This study uses George Terry’s management theory in Sukarna (2011) which uses 4 indicators, namely: planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. The research method used is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques interviews, observation dan documentation. The results of this study indicate that the management of community-based sanitation program in the Meranti Pandak village, Pekanbaru city has not been well managed. This can be seen from the research results that there are several sub-indicators on the management concept that have not been fulfilled, namely the relationship/communication system in the actuating indicator and the implementation measure in the controlling indicator. The unfulfilled sub-indicators are caused by several factors, namely 1) community participation, lack of understanding and participation of the importance of sanitation in environmental health and 2) communication factors, lack of communication between the government and local communities so that sanitation management has not been well managed. Abstract

Unemployment is a situation in which someone belonging to the labor force category does not have a job and is not actively looking for work. In this case, it is the regional government's concern in managing its own household, to reduce the number of unemployed people in West Pasaman Regency, the authority is given to the West Pasaman Regency Manpower Office as the executor of government affairs in the manpower sector.The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of authority carried out by the West Pasaman Regency Manpower Office in 2018. The research location is in the West Pasaman Regency Manpower Office. This research uses a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive. Data were collected through informants purposively. Data collection techniques using interviews and documents.The results show that the implementation of authority in manpower affairs by the West Pasaman Regency Manpower Office in 2018 comes from the authority of Attribution. Exercise of authority in two sub-fields, first, in the sub-sector of job training and productivity. Second, in the sub-sector of manpower placement. Keywords: Attribution, Job Training, Job Placement

Abstract

This research describes how the implementation of cultural diplomacy is carried out by the Indonesian government through the Indonesian Cultural House program in Malaysia and to see the level of effectiveness of the Indonesian Cultural House program by the Indonesian government in Malaysia. The purpose of the Indonesian Cultural House program in Malaysia is to develop Indonesian culture through international cultural diplomacy and encourage more international interest in visiting Indonesian cultural icons.This research uses a constructivist perspective with the level of nation state analysis and uses qualitative research methods with the main objective of collecting descriptive data that can describe the efforts of the Indonesian government in realizing the Indonesian cultural house program in Malaysia. Data collection was carried out through review of related documents, websites, and literature studies. Based on these descriptions, this research is categorized into descriptive researchThe Indonesian Cultural House program greatly benefits the international environment and Indonesian citizens living abroad. The strategy used by researchers is through: exhibitions, competitions, expert exchanges, negotiations and conferences. The impact and benefits of the collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia in the establishment of this Cultural House. in terms of the economy, this cooperation will bring benefits to both countries in terms of increasing tourism activity from the two countries from year to year. Abstract

This research was conducted at the University Riau Social Sciences Study Program Sociology. The purpose of this study was determine the orientation of Sociology students and business forms in achieving their orientation. The technique of determining the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling and setting a sample of 83 respondents. The author uses descriptive quantitative methodes and data intruments or questionnaire and documentation. Based on the results of the study showed that the orientation of Sosiology students in choosing the most desirable jobs is the State Civil Apparatus (SCA ) with a total of 37 respondents or 44,6%, the amount of this data indicates that being an SCA is desire of most respondents. The second interest is entrepreneurship wit a tota of 20 respondents or 24,1%, the reason some respondents choose entrepreneurship is that they want to continue a family bussiness, not bound, and can open new jobs. The third most popular jobs are in the field of State Owned Enterprises with 17 respondents or 20,5%, while the reasons are due to the existence of a guaranteed company survival, clear career paths, ang high salaries although they are still fresh graduates. The most desirable jobs are the Private Sector Owned Enterprices wit 17 respondents or 10,8%. Form of business in achieving orientation in the selection of employment consists of seeking employment information through, continuing education, actively participating in training, building networks, actively participating in organizations, actively participating in socialzation, ang continuing family business. The most dominant form of business is to build a network, and the least is to continue a family business.

Abstract

This research analyses state’s protection of its citizens abroad specifically looks at the phenomenon of transnational organized crimes particular ships hijacking. The research focuses on the strategies that the Indonesian government applied in dealing with three cases of ships hijacking involving Somalia pirates and Abu Sayyaf group that took hostage of Indonesians crew members.This research built on the perspective of constructivism in the study of International Relations and used it to study Indonesia’s foreign policy. In the, constructivist view, the role of state and non-state actors is required to solve the problems in international relations. The protection of Indonesian citizens while they are abroad is laid on the Constitution No 37 of 1999 about foreign relations and article 21 of the constitution No 37 of 1999. Citizens protection is also based on article 2 about Right to exercise diplomatic protection of International Law Commission Draft Articles on Diplomatic Protection 2006. The qualitative approach is used in formulating document analysis, facts and theoretical framework of this research guided. This research has relied on data from Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry, journals, books and Internet websites related to the problems.This research finds that Indonesia combines different approaches in protecting the citizens abroad. In the case of the hostage-taking of MV Sinar Kudus 2011, Abu Sayyaf 2016, FV Naham 3, Indonesia used by military operation and total diplomacy. Abstract

PT Barelang Sejahtera Prima has a Key Performance Index (KPI) as the company's achievement index or sales target. However, this target cannot be achieved by PT Barelang Sejahtera Prima since 2018. Then in 2019 the company made six sales promotion programs aimed at outlets as a strategy to increase the number of customers at the outlet level. The purpose of this study is to find out how the marketing communication strategy of PT Barelang Sejahtera Prima in increasing the number of customers at the outlet level in Pekanbaru in terms of segmentation, targeting, positioning, sales promotion, personal selling, and below the line advertising.This study uses a qualitative method with the presentation of descriptive analysis. The subject of this research is PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima. While the object of this research is marketing communication strategy. The infroman selection technique in this study used a purposive technique. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman Model. The data validity checking technique uses an extension of participation and triangulation.The results of this study are the segmentation of PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima geographically, namely the people of Pekanbaru City, Kab. Kampar, Kab. Siak, Kab. Pelalawan, Kota Duri, and Dumai City. While other segmentation refers to the segmentation that has been made by PT. Smartfren Telecom Tbk. Targetting PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima is an outlet. Positioning PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima also refers to the positioning made by PT. Smartfren Telecom Tbk. PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima uses three elements of marketing communication, namely sales promotion, personal selling, and below the line advertising. Sales promotion program created by PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima, there are six, namely the cashback program, activation rewards, lottery coupons, smartcoin, local trips, and frontliner inspiration trips (FIT). Personal selling used by PT. Barelang Sejahtera Prima yet. Below the line advertisements posted by PT. Abstract

This paper is a Bilateral Cooperation study which provides an analysis of cooperation between two countries in meeting needs and achieving common interests. This research is focused on the effect of Indonesia and partnership cooperation on Indonesia's processed food industry in Vietnam in 2018-2019. The industry is an industry that supports other industries and is interrelated with one another. The manufacturing industry is one of the sectors that contributes the largest GDP in Indonesia.This paper uses a qualitative research method that is descriptive and explanative, in which data is quoted from books, journals, mass media and websites. This research is supported by the level of analysis of the Nation State and Liberalism Perspective with the concept of International Cooperation where international cooperation is formed because of international life which includes various fields such as ideology, politics, economy, socio-culture, environment and defense and security. These problems have led countries in the world to establish international cooperation.The concept MoU on Cooperation between Indonesia and Vietnam is one of the national interests of the two countries, where in this bilateral cooperation the objective is to increase investment in Indonesia and Vietnam and eliminate various trade barriers between the two countries that have not been resolved. Abstract

The fact that Indonesia is one of the country that prone of falsified medicine entry, development of its industry and is the country with the highest number of falsified medicines for low-middle income countries were indeed unavoidable again. The problem of falsified medicines a threat so  real and very contradictory for Indonesia who wants to realizing the realization of  high quality of Indonesian human being, the advanced and prosperous life. Referring to the increasing intensity of falsified medicines which gets higher throughout the year and not balanced by adequate handling, then some efforts to overcoming the circulation of falsified medicines are very much needed by Indonesia today, one of them by joining and conducting international cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO).This research uses the rule of international organization theory, the perspective of pluralism and supported by the concept of Non-traditional security. This study also uses qualitative descriptive research methods and uses level of group behavior analysis. Research data is obtained through the literature review and all research data derived directly from the government official website and related organizations.Based on the results from analyzing of the researchers, it can be concluded  that the efforts of the World Health Organization (WHO) to overcoming the circulation of falsified medicines in Indonesia is through the establishment of Member State Mechanism (MSM) which is realized by drafting and Run the Action Plan that was created by MSM and then it adopted into National Action by Indonesia. This research proves that the Indonesian Government has a strong commitment and is trying to overcoming the circulation of falsified medicines for the realization of human security for Indonesian people. Keywords: World Health Organization (WHO), Member State Mechanism (MSM), Effort, Falsified Medicines, BPOM.

Abstract

LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. It is mainly used for professional networking, including employers posting their CVs. One of the users who use  LinkedIn app are alumnus of Universitas Riau as a source of job. The theory used in this research is new media theory. This study aims to measure the effectiveness level of the LinkedIn application communication as an online information medium for Riau University alumni.This research is quantitative research, with descriptive approach. The technique of collecting data in this study is using questionnaire to 100 alumnus of Riau University that are determined through random sampling techniques. The data analysis method in this research using descriptive statistical techniques measuring the mean value of each indicator using a formula and with the help of SPSS version 24.The results showed that the LinkedIn application was effective as a medium of information for alumni. This is evidenced by the results of the data collected and measured in six indicators, the measurement of the message recipient indicator obtained a score of 2.73 which is included in the effective scale range, then the results of the measurement of the message content indicator obtained an average score of 2.93 which is also included in the range. effective scale. The results of the measurement of media indicators are in the number 3.02 which is also included in the effective scale range, the format indicator is also in the effective scale range because it obtains an average score of 2.88. The message source indicator gets the final result with an average score of 2.92 which is included in the effective scale range, and the measurement of the timeliness indicator is also in the effective scale range with an average score of 2.71. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the communication strategy of Community Gubuak Kopi in preserving the culture of agricultural communities in Solok City. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects involved in this study was determined based on technique purposive, comprising the chairman of the Community Gubuak Kopi, secretary of community Gubuak Kopi, Treasurer Community Gubuak Coffee, and the board of production in the Community Gubuak coffee. Technical analysis of data conducted using data analysis Model Miles (1994) and Faisal (2003) Using Data validity inspection technique is the extension of participation and triangulation of the source.Community of Gubuak Kopi is a non-profit group culture studies based on research and development of art and media knowledge in Solok City, West Sumatera province. Community of Gubuak Kopi has a purpose to produce and distribute knowledge of media literacy through creative activities, organizing, and between professionals (artists, writers, and researchers) and citizens in participatory. In addition, community Gubuak Kopi also developed local media and filing systems, as well as establishing an alternative space for the development of cultural awareness in Solok City, and West Sumatra province in general.The results of the research show that community Gubuak Kopi uses  communication strategy with strategic communication model, that is through a communicators strategy, where the community Gubuak Kopi in conveying information consists of a young generation who has knowledge of how media art works or understands about artistry that is a method of not product end results. The message is about preserving the culture of agricultural communities that are around the community, the importance of media literacy in the midst of society, and the use of media for cultural activities and in archiving culture Own. Furthermore, the methods used in conveying information are by repetition methods (repetition), into, and educative. The media used is through printed media (books, journals and comics), electronic media (online media) such as websites, social media and digital media YouTube, and also media groups such as workshop activities and exhibitions.
