Abstract

The coffee shop is a space where coffee culture was first born and developed, which was initially only carried out by adults and dominated by men. Modern with various facilities and a variety of drinks offered for various circles. As one of the public spaces where coffee culture develops and not only buying and selling activities are there, but there are activities to exchange information or spend time while enjoying coffee alone or with friends. Coffee culture is not only a phenomenon among adults, however the phenomenon of coffee culture also occurs among young people as a space that gives rise to various activities or lifestyles that are influenced by modernist values. This research aims to find out how the coffee culture is before and after the social transformation at the Megaria Coffee Shop and Coffee Shop Boco Kopi. The selection of research subjects was carried out by accidental samples. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Based on the results of the study, coffee culture has existed for a long time in coffee shops, such as the Megaria coffee shop. Then with the development of science and technology, people's needs increase, especially in the coffee industry, this stimulates coffee industry activists to develop in the coffee shop space so that coffee shops with a more modern concept emerge modern as Coffee Shop Boco Kopi. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by UNFPA in 2018-2022 in overcoming the problem of teenage pregnancy in Sierra Leone in order to achieve a reduction in fertility rates at the age of 19-15 years. Sierra Leone is one of the countries in West Africa that has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the world. The problem of teenage pregnancy in Sierra Leone is largely caused by poverty, low education and minimal access to contraception. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through books, journals and documents originating from official websites. This research uses a pluralism perspective and international organization theory. The results of this research show that UNFPA has issued strategies, namely ensuring the provision of contraceptives, empowering teenagers and adding comprehensive sexuality education to the curriculum, and ending dangerous practices. In this case, UNFPA shows a decrease in the fertility rate at the age of 15-19 years, namely 98/1000 in 2022. Keywords: UNFPA, Teenage Pregnancy, Sierra Leone

Abstract

This research aims to analyze juvenile criminal behavior with a focus on cases of assault and gang violence in the Legal Jurisdiction of Tampan Sub-District, Pekanbaru City. Youth criminality has become a primary concern in efforts to understand and address the social challenges faced by the community. This research employs a qualitative descriptive research method to explore the forms, motives, and causes of these acts of violence committed by the young individuals. The research subjects consist of 4 (four) juvenile informants involved in acts of violence and 1 (one) key informant. This research involves various methodological approaches, including literature review, in-depth interviews, and data analysis. Data will be collected from various sources, including police records, interviews with the involved juveniles, and interviews with authorized law enforcement personnel. The results of this research indicate a portrayal of the forms of violence carried out by juveniles, which can include assault and gang violence. There are various motives and causative factors for juveniles, both internal and external. Through a deeper understanding of this issue, it is expected to help create a safer society and protect young individuals involved in destructive criminal activities. Abstract

This study analyzes the Dynamics of Medan-Gwangju City Cooperation within the Sister City Framework in the 2017-2021 period. The Medan City Government has carried out this collaboration since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 1997. International cooperation which generally involves a state has been transformed in terms of actors so that it involves sub-state actors as actors in international relations, this is included in the phenomenon of paradiplomacy as an effort advancing regional potential in accordance with the mandate of regional autonomy policy. In the long course of cooperation involving the two sub-state or regional government actors, of course there are dynamics in the relationship and problems that occur in the cooperative relationship. This research was using qualitatively descriptive using several methods in data collection, including interviews, observations, and literature studies from books, journals, websites, and documents related to this collaboration. This study uses the perspective of liberalism and paradiplomacy theory. The results of this paper show how in accordance with the theory of paradiplomacy, the Medan City Government seeks to maximize the potential of the area contained in the City of Medan. However, in an effort to maximize the potential of the area which is manifested in the form of cooperation within the sister city framework, there are dynamics that occur during a cooperative relationship as well as problems and potential for cooperation that have not been optimized and then this paper can be used as material for consideration of City Government policy making. Abstract

The oil palm sector was known as a male-dominated working environment, resulting in the marginalization of women despite their contributions to oil palm cultivation. Women smallholder farmers faced injustices in various aspects, such as low wages, unclear employment status, limited access to resources and land ownership, as well as gender discrimination. This research utilized qualitative research methods, gathering both primary and secondary data. The author conducted interviews with facilitators assisting women smallholder oil palm farmers in Rokan Hulu, and utilized essential documents as additional data sources. Other secondary data were collected through journals, news articles, policies, and relevant written materials. RSPO played a significant role in empowering women through its certification mechanisms. As an NGO, RSPO successfully fulfilled 4 out of 5 roles proposed by Ahmed and Potter. RSPO played a particularly significant role in providing education to the community, namely women smallholder oil palm farmers in Rokan Hulu. Abstract

The issue of refugees has become a concern for several countries, one of which is Indonesia. Indonesia in dealing with refugee cases cannot be separated from the help of international organizations, one of which is IOM, this is because Indonesia does not yet have legal regulations that discuss the status of determining refugee citizenship. In assisting Indonesia, IOM has collaborated with sub-countries, namely the area that has become refugee shelters, one of which is Pekanbaru City. This collaboration is carried out so that the community and refugees can both understand and understand the presence of refugees in their city. Data were obtained from journals, official websites, books, and interviews by state agencies dealing with refugee issues and local communities in Pekanbaru City. For analysis techniques, researchers used qualitative research with primary data converted into descriptive. The author uses the theory of International Organizations which states that in carrying out its role International Organizations must fulfill several aspects. Based on research shows that IOM in working with Indonesia seems to be grow. This can be seen from state actors and sub-countries, namely regions can also cooperate with international organizations, namely IOM, in terms of fulfilling the right to skills guidance training can be carried out, even in carrying out regional cooperation with international organizations, the regions involve the local community, so that the local community also plays a role in country perspective where the legality of this social group is recommended by the state through its local government. So that finally the segments under the state actors develop to take cooperative actions with international organizations. Abstract

PT. Tunas Antarnusa Muda Wisata is one of the tourism transportation modes in the city of Pekanbaru. Formerly a small business, PT. Tunas Antarnusa Muda Wisata has grown to become one of the best tourism transportation modes in Pekanbaru, providing excellent service, well-equipped bus units, and utillzing the lates technology in today’s tourism transportation industry. Therefore, this research is conducted to determine the factors influencing the selection of PT. Tunas Antarnusa Muda Wisata as a tourism transportation in Pekanbaru. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method by distributing questionnaires via google form and directly to 88 respondents using a likert scale. The data collection techniques in this study include observation, interview, questionnaires, and documentation. Based on the data management result using the likert scale measurement technique, factors influencing the selection of PT. Tunas Antarnusa Muda Wisata tourism transportation in Pekanbaru are accessibility and comfort, time and distance, transportation costs, and infrastructure and transportation system development. The score for accessibility and comfort factors is 731, the score for time and distance factors is 723. The score for transportation costs factors is 709, and the score for infrastructure and transportation system development factors is 694, with the most dominant factor being accessibility and comfort. Based on the questionnaire result, the respondent profile indicates that the majority of respondent are male in the 17-25 age group, with their tourism destinations mostly in North Sumatera, and they have purchased PT. Abstract

This research was conducted to see the steps and strategies used by Alfamart in order to expand its modern retail in the Philippines. Alfamart is one of the retailers with product providers and trading companies that is very developed in Indonesia in the retail industry. This paper is qualitative research that uses Complexity and Global Expansion Strategy (CGES) theory which will look at the entry modes used by Alfamart to enter the Philippine’s retail market. In this research, researchers used the Individual - Group level of analysis. The Individual – Group level of behavioral analysis focuses on individuals who carry out international actions in groups. Data collection uses document analysis methods sourced from several books, journal articles and other references relevant to Alfamart's entry and development strategy in the Philippines. The research results show that Alfamart can expand and enter the Philippine’s retail market by using various strategies, where the selection and use of the right strategy is the main reason for the rapid development of Alfamart retail in the Philippines. The focus is on the entry mode of joint ventures and optimizing the global market complexity strategy that Alfamart uses in expansion, market observation and is supported by Philippine’s government regulations regarding the entry and exit of foreign investors. Abstract

Motorized vehicles are wheeled vehicles that function to transport people and/or objects that are driven by motors/engines using fuel as energy and can be used on land roads other than rail. Therefore, motorized vehicles are subject to taxation in accordance with statutory regulations, regional regulations and governor's regulations in order to help regional finances from the tax proceeds paid by the community. This research aims to determine the strategic management of the Regional Revenue Agency in increasing motor vehicle tax revenue in 2021 and the factors that influence it through a SWOT analysis which is analyzed according to the Regional Government Strategic Management theory according to Untoro (2010), starting from analyzing the strategy formulation and strategy implementation carried out by the Agency Riau Regional Revenue in an effort to increase registered vehicle tax revenue in 2021, to use influencing factors as correction material to further maximize the potential from the results of the strategic evaluation of the Riau Province Regional Revenue Agency. The data collection technique in this research is in the form of interviews and documentation, with qualitative research methods, namely describing research results from data obtained from the Riau Bapenda regarding the increase in Motor Vehicle Tax (MVT) revenue. So that it provides a clear enough picture to synchronize the causes of motor vehicle tax not reaching the target in 2020 as well as the internal driving and inhibiting factors of Bapenda in increasing MVT income in 2021. Based on the results of three years of research (2019-2021), the growth in MVT income in 2020 dropped drastically to -9.6% from the target of 4.42%, even though the number of motorized vehicles in 2020 increased by 2.1%. The action taken by the Riau Bapenda to increase MVT income in 2021 is to implement a strategic plan by facilitating the expansion of information and improving services in the form of innovative improvements such as expanding Samsat services by adding technical implementation Unit Samsat and wandering around Units, eliminating tax fines, information systems and service applications. Abstract

Indonesia objected to the unilateral claim of the Natuna waters map made by the Chinese government. The map shows nine dots nine dash line which determines the boundaries of the territory that is part of China's territory over parts of the Natuna Waters. The overlapping claims referred to by China are areas referred to as traditional fishing grounds which are not recognized in the international law of the sea UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea). This has become a guideline for China to continue committing illegal fishing in Indonesia's sovereign territory. Indonesia must face this potential conflict considering that China stated that part of the North Natuna Waters is its territory. This research uses the theory of Indonesian defense diplomacy, influenced by a realism perspective where Indonesia has an interest in fighting for and defending its national interests anticipating conflicts in the North Natuna Waters, as well as maintaining Indonesia's maritime stability and sovereignty. Forms and efforts to resolve illegal fishing are carried out by increasing security in the North Natuna Waters by the Indonesian Navy with the support of the government and the relevant agencies. Indonesia's strategy in maintaining defense diplomacy peacefully is motivated by the cooperation between Indonesia and China been doing for a long time. Both countries strengthen cooperation in several strategic sectors such as trade, finance, infrastructure, industry, tourism, to politics and security. In the era of President Joko Widodo's administration, economic cooperation between Indonesia and China was also very dynamic in various fields. So that this relationship is the reason for Indonesia to continue to maintain peaceful diplomacy. Keywords: North Natuna Waters, Unilateral Claim, National Interest, Defense Diplomacy.
