Abstract

Magnetic field that produced by coils changes its value significantly when the coil core made from air replaced by ferromagnetic (Fe), paramagnetic (Cu) and diamagnetic (Al) materials. In this research the value of magnetic field was measured as a function of coil’s turns (N), applied current (I) and the distance from the center of the coil as the coil’s core changed from air to Fe, Cu and Al. Number of turns of the coils was varied namely 50, 100, and 150 with the length of 4.2 cm and diameter of 3.2 cm. Next, the coil and a capacitor were connected with a series circuit in which the value of the capacitance of the capacitor was 4700 μƒ. Magnetic field that produced by the coils were measured using Pasco magnetic probe PS-2162.While the voltage were measured using volt meter. From the result of the research it was found that the average value of magnetic field (N = 50 turns) for constant current of (2A) increased by 127% and 13.59 % when the core coil (air) was replaced by iron and copper respectively. While for aluminum, the value of the magnetic field was reduced by 45.56 % from air core. Theoretically, the value of charges on the capacitor and current flow in the circuit as a function of time oscillated in the form of sinusoidal. The charges on the capacitor at t=0 had its maximum value that was 9.4 x 10-4 Coulomb, The current in the circuit reached its maximum value that was 5.08 Ampere at t = 10 s.

Abstract

This article discusses a select survival model for the case of multiple decrements in evaluating endowment life insurance premium for person currently aged ( + ) years, who is selected at age with ℎ years selection period. The case of multiple decrements in this case is limited to two cases. The calculation of the annual premium is done by prior evaluating of the single premium, and the present value of annuity depends on theconstant force assumption.

Abstract

This article studies three type of regression ratio estimators for the population mean on simple random sampling using minimum and maximum auxiliary variables. This study is a review from the article of Singh et. al. [Statistics in Transition, 10 (2009): 85-100]. Then, the mean square error of this three estimators are compared. Estimator with the smallest mean square error is the most efficient estimator. Abstract

"> In this article we review three linear regression ratio estimators for the population mean on simple random sampling without replacement proposed by Singh et al. [Statistics in10 (2009) : 85 - 100 Transition, ]. These estimators are biased estimators and their mean square error are determined. The estimator with the smallest mean square error is the most efficient one. We apply these estimators to show the efficiencies of examples.

Abstract

Estimators discussed here are three estimators for estimating population variance in simple random sampling without replacement, i.e. exponential ratio estimator using variance of auxiliary variable, and exponential ratio and product estimators using mean of auxiliary variable. This work is a review of article written by Asghar et al. [Revista Colombiana de Estadistica, 37 (2014): 213-224]. These estimators are all biased and mean square error (MSE) of each estimator can be obtained. Furthermore, these MSE are compared to each other. The most efficient estimator is the one which has the smallest MSE. An example is given to show the efficiency of the estimator.

Abstract

Estimators discussed in this paper are three estimators for population ratio using variable transformation, i.e estimator of population ratio using dual variable, regression-type estimator of population ratio, and ratio-type estimator of population ratio, which is a review from the article of Onyeka et.al [Global Journal of Science Frontier Research13(2013):57-65]. The three estimators are biased estimators. The most efficient estimator is the one that has the smallest mean square error obtained by comparing the mean square error of each estimator. An example is given at the end of the discussion.

Abstract

In this article we discuss three estimators for population ratio using the coefficien regression and dual, which is a review from the article of Onyeka et.al [GlobalJournal of Science Frontier Research, 13(2013):57-65]. The three estimators are biased estimators and their mean square errorsare determined. Furthermore, this mean square errorsare compared to mean square error of each estimator.This comparison shows that thetype-product estimator is more efficient than another estimators.

Abstract

Grammatophyllum scriptum (Lindl.) BL. is one of orchid species that pottentially to be extinct in the nature. In order to maintain the existence of this orchid, a propagation is needed, such as using in vitro culture techniques. This study aimed to determine the influence and the best concentration of BAP in single treatment, as well as the combination with NAA in inducing in vitro bud explant of G. scriptum. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with various concentrations of BAP only or in combination with NAA. The results of this study showed that the treatment of 1 mg /l BAP gave the best results with 100% orchid bud formation, 13.67 of formation of buds after planting day, with number of bud and and leave were 3,33 and 5,33, respectively. While the best combination of BAP and NAA for shoot growth was 1 mg / l BAP + 0.5 mg / l NAA, with the formation of shoot was 13,33 after planting day, 2.33 buds, and 5.67 leaves.

Abstract

ewline"> Simbad lake was formed naturally from the input of Kampar river overflowing water during flood season and its tributaries. Simbad lake have been affected by various people activities eg. plantation. This research was aimed to study the diversity of plankton and also its relation with water physical–chemical factors in Simbad Lake. Sampling was conducted at date of 16 February and 16 March 2014 using purposive method considering environmental condition. The result showed that the composition of plankton during sampling in February consisted of 47 genera which were divided into 26 genera of phytoplankton and 21 genera of zooplankton. Meanwhile, during sampling in March it consisted of 35 genera which were divided into 21 genera of phytoplankton and 14 genera of zooplankton. The abundance of plankton from February to March within phytoplankton was dominated by Bacillariophyceae, while zooplankton was dominated by Branchiopoda. The diversity index for phytoplankton and zooplankton sampled in February were range from 0,16-1,21 and 0,01-0,15, respectively. Furthermore, the diversity index for phytoplankton and zooplankton sampled in March ranging from 0,9–1,25 and 0,02–0,12. Physical – chemical factors of water that most affect the diversity value of plankton in Simbad Lake is the current speed.
