Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the way in which water management and rice cultivation techniques are carried out in tidal land. This study uses a survey method and interviews with rice farmers in Sanglar Village, Reteh Regency, Indragiri Hilir Regency. Farmers 'respondents were collected by means of targeted sampling based on the location of farmers' groups downstream, in the middle and upstream of the secondary channel. Each part of upstream, middle and downstream will be taken 2 farmer groups as samples then 8 farmers will be taken as survey respondents. So thatthe total respondents were 48 tidal rice farmers. The results of the research data are presented in the form of tables and images that are described descriptively. The management of water used in Sanglar Village is classified as simple water management, characterized by the condition of buildings that are still made of earth and there are no building meters and retention. The cultivation technique used in Sanglar Village is one of the traditional cultivation techniques. This can be seen from planting to harvesting, most farmers have not used Alsintan and agricultural innovations. The highest productivity is indicated by the downstream channel with 3.73 tons. Ha-1 is still relatively low due to simple water management and traditional breeding techniques that require improvement in water management and cultivation techniques.Keyword : Water Management, Rice Cultivation, Tidal Land

Abstract

Merremia peltata is a type of Invasive Allien Species (IAS) that belongs to one type of liana plants located in the tropics. Efforts to combat exgan for now are still very minimal because information about morphology and physiology of Merremia peltata is still lacking. The importance of this research is directed to develop an innovation in the control of exgan weeds by utilizing liquid smoke as a natural herbicide. This study aims to: (1) to find out the influence of liquid smoke as a natural herbicides in controlling the growth of Merremia peltata weeds; (2) to know the best dose of liquid smoke as a natural herbicide in controlling the growth of Merremia peltata. The study used the Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method which used five treatments and five repeats. Merremia peltata that has been grown for 14 days in 25 polybags 30x45 cm each polybag contains three Merremia peltata. After that spraying using grade 3 liquid smoke of various concentrations is carried out on the 15th day after planting. Spraying of grade 3 liquid smoke as much as 15 ml per polybag is carried out every two days until the 33rd day after planting. The data obtained was analyzed using fingerprint analysis test, if the real effect continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a level of 5%. The data obtained and analyzed statistically using the SPSS application program. The results showed that the application of natural herbicides with grade 3 liquid smoke base material has an effect in suppressing the growth of Merremia peltata. Application of grade 3 liquid smoke with a dose of 15 ml / l is the most influential control and best in suppressing the growth of Merremia peltata as weeds Keywords : Merremia peltata, weed, liquid smoke, control, grade 3

Abstract

This study aims to obtain optimum liquid smoke from young coconut fibers with different destillation temperature treatments, and meet SNI number 01-2725-2009. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications to obtain 16 experimental units. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using ANOVA, if F is greater than or equal to F table, then continued with DNMRT test at the 5% level. The results of each treatment showed significant differences in each treatment from pH, and acid levels, but did not have a significant effect on antibacterial activity. The best selected treatments in this study were distillation temperatures of 200°C with a pH of 2.52, acid levels of 1.158%, composition (% area) phenol of 64.06%, antibacterial against Eschericia coli 7.60 mm, and antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus 13.57 mm. Key words: young coconut fiber, destilation, liquid smoke

Abstract

 1.2. The purpose of this research is to determine some potential lines to be continued with the preliminary yield trial. The Lines used obtained from selected F3 plants resulted from a cross between Grobogan and KM19 having large seed and early maturity. Thirteen genotypes, consisting of the 11 F6 lines and two parents namely Grobogan and KM19 were planted in the Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. Field experiments were established by using a randomized block design in a 3 m x 2 m plot with three replications. Plant materials were maintened according to standard cultivation techniques and spacing of 40 cm x 20 cm. The parameters observed included plant height, number of branches, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of filled per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plant, weight of 100 seeds, dry weight of plants, and yield per m2. The data were analyzed according to the Dunnet test at the 5% level by the SAS Program version 9.0. The results indicated wide variability between lines for seed number per plant, seed weight per plant, and seed yield per m2. Genetic component of variance was greater than 0 for the three characters with high heritability. There were detected several linesw having high yield potential; ie, GK19-3-12, GK19-3-27 and GK19-3-41 with greater number of filled pods, higher seeds weight per plant and seed weight per m2than Grobogan and KM19. Keywords : genetic variance,  heritability, yield potentials, yield components

Abstract

The objective of this research aims to determine phenotypic performance and variability of M1 generation of Dega 1 soybean variety after irradiated seed by gamma ray radiation and get suitable rate of the mutagen to obtain genetic variability. Irradiation by gamma ray to the seed of Dega 1was established in the Laboratory of Badan Tenaga Atom Nasional, Jakarta while phenotypic observation was conducted in the Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau beginning on January until April 2018 by using a completely randomized design. The treatments wereG1(50 Gy), G2 (100 Gy), G3(150 Gy) and G4(200 Gy) gamma ray radiation and parental line as a control. The characters observed were growth habits, leaflet number, leaf shape, flower crown color and pod color. Result of the research showed that gamma ray irradiation to the seed caused some levels of mutation on qualitative characters including, the change in leaflets number, and leaf shape but not for flower color and pod color.  Irradiation seed by gamma ray  causedwide variability on leaf shape for all rates of irradiation with the coefficient of variation (CV) of ranging from 0.43 to 0.64. This inferred that the values of population variability of M1 resulted from seed irradiation was not similar in magnitude.Keywords:Soybean, qualitative characters, variability, gamma ray

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the F5 lines performance of soybean obtained after selection of F3 generatian from Grobogan x KM 25 cross. The study was conducted at the Experiment station Fakulty of Agriculture The University of Riau Pekanbaru.  The field experiment was established from  April 2019 to July 2019 and assigned by a randomized block design. Thirteen genotypes consisting of 11 F5 lines from Grobogan x KM25 cross and the two parents lines were grown in a plot of 200 cm x 120 cm with planting space of 40 cm x 40 cm. The results indicated that several F5 lines performed differently in some traits to their parents lines. The characters included plant height, flowering date, days to harvest, number of filled pods, grain weight per plant, grain yield per m2, and harvest index. There were three F5 lines had taller stem, one  line having late flowering date, and three lines that faster days to harvest than their parents. In term of yield components, three lines beared more filled pods,  one line yielded heavier grain weight per plant, and two lines had greater grain weight per m2 compared to their parents. There were two lines with greater harvest index than the two parents.  Further implication of the results was the potential lines are GK25-3-9, GK25-3-12, GK25-3-18, GK25-3-20, GK25-3-22, and GK25-3-37. Keywords:Performance, F5 Soybean Line, yield component

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to get the best combination of pedadaporridge and api-api porridge.  The research used a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications.The treatments were PA1 (Pedadaporridge 90% :api-api porridge10%), PA2 (Pedadaporridge 80% : api-api porridge 20%), PA3 (Pedadaporridge 70% : api-api porridge30%), PA4 (Pedadaporridge 60% : api-api porridge40%) and PA5 (Pedadaporridge 50% : api-api porridge 50%).  The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Anova and DNMRT at 5%.  The research showed that usingpedadaporridgeand api-api porridge water content, ash content, degree of acidity (pH), protein content, fat content, reduction sugar content, crude fiber content and organoleptic test.  The best treatment of fruit leather from this research is PA3 whichwater content 9,19%, ash content 1,05%, degree of acidity (pH) 3,13, protein content 1,87%, fat content 0,28%, reduction sugar content 43,17% and crude fibercontent 4,62%. Rather green colour, a little bit pedadaporridgeand api-api porridgeflavour, sour taste slightly sweet, the texture rather springy and overall assesment of fruit leather was preferred by the panelist. Keywords :Fruit leather, pedadaporridge and api-api porridge.

Abstract

This research aims to study the application of randu leaves extract in edible coating of sago starch in order to maintain quality of red chilies during storage.  This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, so that 15 (fifteen) experimental units were obtained.  The treatments used include P1 (without the addition of randu leaves extract), P2 (1% addition of randu leaves extract), P3 (3% addition of randu leaves extract), P4 (5% addition of randu leaves extract), and P5 (7 % addition of randu leaves extract).  The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Anova and DNMRT at 5% level.  The results showed that the addition of randu leaves extract significantly affected weight loss, hardness, vitamin C, total dissolved solids, and total microbes of red chili during storage.  The best treatment of this research was P5 which showed on red chilies after 15 days of storage that had 39,30% weight loss, 10,63 kgf/cm2hardness, 13,52 mg/100g vitamin C, 1,383°Brix total dissolved solids, and after 9 days of storage is 5,66 log CFU/g total microbes. Keywords: Edible coating, red chilies,randu leaves extracts.s

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pertumbuhan dan keragaan bibit jeruk lemon terbaik dan menentukan konsentrasi urin kelinci terfermentasi, panjang stek dan kombinasi yang terbaik terhadap jeruk lemon. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau Pekanbaru dari April hingga Agustus 2018. Rancangan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pertama ialah perbedaan konsentrasi urin kelinci terfermentasi yang terdiri dari 0%, 20%, 40% dan 60%. Perlakuan kedua ialah panjang stek yang terdiri dari 10 cm, 20 cm dan 30 cm. Parameter yang diamati ialah waktu muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, diameter tunas, luas daun, volume akar, berat kering tunas dan keragaan tanaman. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan pengujian jarak berganda duncan (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi urin kelinci terfermentasi 60%, panjang stek 30 cm dan kombinasi perlakuan konsentrasi urin kelinci terfermentasi 40 dan 60% dengan panjang stek 30 cm menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan keragaan bibit jeruk terbaik.Kata Kunci:  Bibit lemon, pertumbuhan, keragaan, panjang stek, konsentrasi urin kelinci terfermentasi

Abstract

Bukit Tigapuluh National Park has an ODTW (Tourist Attraction) that is attractive for tourists to visit and has a unique tourist attraction, namely the Granit area, a former Granit mining area. One of the dominant plant species in the Granit area's tourist attraction in Bukit Tigapuluh National Park is Shorea spp. This study aims to determine the diversity of species and morphology of Shorea spp. in the Granit tourist area in Bukit Tigapuluh National Park, Riau Province. This study used a purposive sampling method using a pathway system. The composition of tree species uses manuals and tree species records to obtain observations of species diversity, while morphological observations can be taken using cameras or data from the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park as supporting material. The results showed that the morphology of each Shorea spp. Species seen from the shape of the leaves and stems had differences. The diversity of meranti species (Shorea spp.) In the Granit area of Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (TNBT) was eight species with 67 individuals. The index value of species diversity (H ') in Granit Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (TNBT) is line 1, which is 1.81 in the medium category, and lane two is 0.89 with the low category, and lane 3 is 0.82 with the low category. Keywords: Morphology, national park, shorea spp.
