Abstract

This research aims to obtain doses of cow manure compost in increasing the growth and production of eggplant varieties Mustang F1 and Yuvita F1. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Campus Bina Widya Km 12.5 Simpang Baru, Tampan Subdistrict Pekanbaru District and lasts for three months starting in March 2019 until June 2019. This research was conducted experimentally by using a randomized plot design divided into randomized groups consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The main plot is cow manure compost which consists of 4 levels (cow manure compost doses of 0, 75, 150, and 225 g per crop).  The parameters observed were soil analysis, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, age of flowering, first harvest age, number of fruits per crop, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot. The data obtained were statistically analyzed with diversity followed by Duncan's multiple range test at the 5% level. The results showed that increasing the dose of cow manure compost 75 g per plant to 225 g per plant given was not significantly different for all observation parameters the distinction is in crop height parameters without using cow manure compost. Keywords: Eggplant, Mustang F1, Yuvita F1 and manure storage cow shed

Abstract

Alstonia scholaris  is one of the plants used for revegetation activities in mining land reclamation activities. Vegetative seed procurement is an alternative to get more seedlings, namely by using ivory stems to cut branches. The growth of branch buds can be stimulated using natural growth regulators, namely coconut water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of coconut water for the growth of ivory branch buds and find out the optimal soaking time for the growth of ivory branch buds. This research was conducted in September-October 2019 in the experimental gardens of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. This study uses a completely randomized design method consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications with each stem cuttings soaked at several times, are K0 (without soaking), K1 (2 hours soaking time), K2 (4 hours soaking time), K3 (6 hours soaking time). The results of this study showed significant results for the time of emergence of buds, the number of buds, buds length, buds wet weight and dry weight of the ivory branch. The optimal soaking time for the growth of ivory branches is K1 (soaking time 2 hours) with number of buds 1,70 pieces, buds length 0,58 cm and dry weight 0,06 gr.Keywords: coconut water, Alstonia scholaris, growth regulator.

Abstract

Mini grafting durian was a vegetative propagation to produce superior durian seedlings. The success of mini grafting is determined by the availability of hormones in the seed. Plants that lacking of phytohormone can inhibit the growth of seedlings. Therefore, an attempt was made to fulfill phytohormone by providing BPT. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of BAP and get the best concentration in increase the success and growth of mini grafting durian. This research was conducted experimentally and used a complete random sampling. The sample was taken by randoml as much as two samples each unit experiment. The tasted treatment was the ZPT treatment wich consist BAP, 50 ppm BAP, 100 ppm and 150 ppm. The parameters observed were the percentage of the seedlings growing, shoot growth time, number of shoots, number of leaves, increasing of system diameter, increasing seedling height, fresh weight and dry weight of seedlings. The use of BAP has no effect on the growth of seedlings durian result of mini grafting, but the highest percentage of success rate mini grafting was obtained giving BAP 50 ppm. The growth of mini grafted durian seedlings including the complete amount, the number of leaves, the increase in diameter of the stem, the fresh weight and dry weight of the seeds obtained tendency of the best results in the treatment of 150 ppm. Keywords:    Durian, mini graftting, cytokinin, BAP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between the administration of petrhikaphos and phosphorus fertilizer, the single factor of petrhikaphos and phosphorus fertilizer and to get the best dose of petrhikaphos and phosphorus fertilizer on the growth and production of soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) Merril). This research is a factorial experiment arranged according to a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is the Petrhikaphos Dose (P) which consists of 3 levels, namely: P1 = 12.5 g.kg-1 soybean seeds, P2 = 25 g.kg-1 soybean seeds, and P3 = 37.5 g.kg-1 soybean seed. The second factor is the dose of phosphorus fertilizer (F) which consists of 4 levels, namely: F1 = 0 kg.ha-1, F2 = 50 kg.ha-1, F3 = 100 kg.ha-1, and F4 = 150 kg.ha -1. From these two treatment factors, 12 treatment combinations were obtained and each treatment combination was repeated three times so that there were 36 experimental units. Data obtained from observations were statistically analyzed using variance and further testing using Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. The parameters observed were plant height, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of 100 seeds, and weight of seeds per plant. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out it can be concluded that there is an interaction between the administration of pethrikaphos with phosphorus fertilizer on all observed parameters except on number of branches. Giving pethrikaphos 25 g.kg-1 seed showed the best results on all observed parameters. The application of 50 kg.ha-1 phosphorus fertilizer showed the best results on all observed parameters except the number of branches. Giving Pethrikaphos 25 g.kg-1 seed with 50 kg.ha-1 phosphorus fertilizer is the dose that shows the best results compared to other treatments.Keywords: soybean, pethrikaphos, phosphorus, growth and production

Abstract

   1This research aims to determine the best combination of NPK fertilizer with tilapia waste liquid organic fertilizer to the growth of oil palm seeds. This research was conducted at UPT. Experimental Garden, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted from May to September 2019. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant (control), NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25%, NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 50%, NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 75%, NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25%, NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 50% and NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 75%. Parameters observed were seedling height, number of seed leaves, seed bulb diameter, seedling leaf area, seedling root volume, seedling root shoot ratio and seed dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test(DNMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the combination of NPK fertilizer treatment with tilapia waste LOF affected the parameters of seed height, number of leaves, bulb diameter, leaf area, root volume, root shoot ratio and seed dry weight. The combination of NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25% is the best treatment to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings. Keywords: Oil palmseeds, NPK fertilizer, tilapia waste liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

This research was aimed to get the best various additions of Agrobost which symbiotic microalgae Chlorellasp. in accelerating to reduce of pollutants level in palm oil mill effluent using the scale up experimenttechnology.  This research used Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 3 repetition.  This research used microalgae(with abundance ± 6,985,000 cfu/ml) and palm oil mill effluent with 5 treatments of Agrobost (0% v/v, 4% v/v, 8% v/v, 12% v/v and 16% v/v).  The data were obtained from statistical analytic using ANOVA and DNMRT in 5% level.  The results showed that the concentration of Agrobost had significant affects for nitrate and phosphate.  The selected treatment was 16% v/v addition Agrobost with the highest reduction level had nitrate of 3.40 mg.L-1 and phosphate of 8.18 mg.L-1. Keywords:palm oil mill effluent, Agrobost, microalgae Chlorella sp., scale up

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi dosis kompos rumen sapi dan konsentrasi pupuk hayati serta faktor tunggal yang baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil selada dengan sistem vertikultur. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau Pekanbaru dari September hingga November 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Faktor pertama ialah dosis kompos rumen sapi yang terdiri dari 10, 20 dan 30 ton.ha-1. Faktor kedua ialah konsentrasi pupuk hayati yang terdiri dari 0, 10, 20 dan 30 ml.l-1 air. Parameter yang diamati ialah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat segar per tanaman, berat layak konsumsi per tanaman dan volume rambut akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi kompos rumen sapi     30 ton.ha-1 dengan pupuk hayati 20 ml.l-1 air memberikan hasil yang lebih baik untuk berat segar dan berat layak konsumsi selada. Faktor tunggal pemberian kompos rumen sapi 30 ton.ha-1 menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan hasil selada yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci:  Tanaman selada, kompos rumen sapi, pupuk hayati, vertikultur

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify the coffee supply chain, value added analysis received by the supply chain actors, and arrange alternative strategies by evaluating the internal and external factors to determine strategic priorities for CV Kiniko development. This study used descriptive quantitative and qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative used to describe the coffee supply chain using Vorst’s framework for chain design and set alternative strategies for CV Kiniko development by the internal factors evaluation and external factors evaluation matrix using SWOT analysis and rating the strategic priorities for CV Kiniko development using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Descriptive quantitative used for measuring value added using Hayami method. The coffee supply chain started from the coffee farmers, coffee middleman, CV Kiniko, distributor and sales. The value added ratio of the actors as follow: coffee farmers 32% (medium value added ratio category), coffee middleman 4% (low value added ratio category) and CV Kiniko 55% (high value added ratio category). The strategic priorities that CV Kiniko has to do to improve the value added is expand the marketing networks by using the development of technology and information (0.358). Keywords: coffee, supply chain, value added, SWOT, AHP

Abstract

The perpose of this research is to find the effect of cocoa leaf compost on the growth of cocoa seedlings and get dosage the best cocoa leaf compost for cocoa seedling growth (Theobroma cacao L.). This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau, Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 4 months starting from October to February 2018. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (RAL).Consisting of 6 treatments: K0 (without compost), K1 (50 g), K2 (100 g), K3 (150 g), K4 (200 g), and K5 (250 g) cocoa leaf litter compost. Parameter observed are high seedling,stem diameter,number of leaf,canopy dry weight,root dry weight and root canopy ratio.The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level.the results showed that the giving of cocoa leaf litter gave a real effect on the growth of heigh seedling, stem diameter, number of leaf, however give out influence is not real to canopy dry weight androot dry weight. Provision of 150-250 g/polybag cocoa leaf compostpolybags show the highest average of each observation parameter and provide the best growth. Keywords: cocoa, compost, cocoa leaf

Abstract

Most of the peat swamp forests have been degraded, one of the efforts in peat restoration was by replanting native peat plants. For conservation, it was necessary to cultivate Dyera lowii plants for the provision of good and quality seeds, using compost of oil palm empty bunches. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application from compost of oil palm empty bunches as a medium to stimulate the growth of  Dyera lowii seedlings. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and five replications, so that there were 20 experimental. The application of TKKS compost were : P1 = Without TKKS application, P2 = 20% TKKS compost + 80% peat soil, P3 = 50% TKKS compost + 50% peat soil, P4 = 80% TKKS compost + 20% soil peat. The data obtained from the research results were analyzed with variance using SPSS 20.0. Furthermore, if the results of the variance have a significant effect, further analysis will be carried out using the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the application from compost of oil palm empty bunches had an effect on the dry weight of the Dyera lowii seedlings. The treatment level of 80% TKKS compost mixed with 20% peat soil showed the best treatment with a high yield as 0.87 cm, plant dry weight as 0.79 g and a root shoot ratio as 2.07. Keywords : Dyera lowii Hook.F, compost, oil palm empty bunches
