Abstract

The research objective is to identify the type of fruit flies that attack fruit plan in some regencies in Riau. Fruits used in this research are: mango, orange, chili, guava, brown, leatherback and jackfruit. The research was conducted in laboratory of Agricultural Quarantine Class I Pekanbaru. This type of research is an exploratory description that describes data was collected in the field by using the method of trap. Once the fruit fly was trapping in trap, then it is collected and finally identified for further identification. The results showed that from the identification, there are six types of fruit flies that attack fruits are Bactrocera carambolae, Bactrocera papayae, Bactrocera umbrosa, Bactrocera cucurbitae, Bactrocera albistrigata dan Bactrocera tau.   Keywords: Fruit flies, regency, fruit.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 From April until September 2014. Trial using completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. First factor fertilizer N, P, K consists of 5 levels (0 g/polybag, 0.17 N, 0.09 P2O5,0.11K2O g/polybag, 0.35 N, 0.18P2O5, 0.23K2O g/polybag, 0.52N, 0.27P2O5, 0.34K2O g/polybag and 0.69N, 0.36P2O5,0.45K2O g/polybag) and OLF the second factor consists of 3 levels (0 ml, 350 ml and 700 ml/polybag). Treatment was repeated 3 times. Data results were analyzed statistically operates with anova and Duncan test continued level of 5%. The observed parameters is high plant, tillers maximum term, term productive tillers, harvest, long panicles per clump, clump of grain per time period, weight dry milled grain, percentage of grain pithy, weight of 100 grains, the efficiency of production and the effect of OLF differences efficiency of N, P, K. Results indicate combination of 0.69N, 0.36P2O5, 0.45K2O g/polybagwith OLF 700 ml/polybag increase high plant, tillers maximum term, term productive tillers, age harvest, long panicles per clump, period of grains per panicle, percentage of grain pithy, dry milled grain weight and production efficiency.   Keywords: upland rice, N, P, K, liquid organic fertilizer, production efficiency.

Abstract

The objective of this research was increase yield components and physiological seed quality and determined the proper dose of phosphorus fertilizer on four sorghum varieties. This research has been conducted  in Field Experiment and the plant breeding laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2014 to October 2014. The research conducted by using  randomized  block  design  (RBD) which arranged factorial with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was a fertilizer dose of SP-36, namely: 45 kg SP-36,  90 kg SP-36 kg and 135 kg SP-36 / ha. The second factor was the sorghum varieties those Kawali, Numbu, Pahat and Mandau. The mean separation of analysis of variance was tested using Duncans multiple range test at 5%. Parameters those observed: seed weight / panicle, weight of 1000 seeds, seed weight/m2, seed moisture content, germination test, first count test, rate of germination, seedling dry weight, plumule growth and radicel test. The results showed that phosphorus fertilizer increases the grain weight / panicle, weight of 1000 seeds and seed weight/m2.The phosphorus fertilizer application of 90 kg/ ha showed the best effect on the variety Pahat (8,50 ton/ha) and Mandau (8,7 ton/ha). The Phosphorus fertilizer application increases the physiological seed quality on all parameters except the water content.The phosphorus fertilizer application 135 kg/ha gave the best quality of the seed physiology of Mandau and Numbu. Abstract

Guava (Psidium guajava L.) is a tropical plant that comes from southern Mexico and Central America. The rising demand of guava in Indonesia encourages the cultivation of guava which systematically with considerable high economic value. Decreasing productivity of guava currently caused by the attack of fruit flies. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research on trapping at several heights. This study uses a randomized block design (RAK) with a height of 0.5 m, 1.5 m and 2.5 m. The results have shown that the effective control of the pest trap fruit flies in the area of guava plant height of 1.5 m is the number of fruit flies were trapped as much as 59.25 flies, the number of male fruit flies were trapped 22.50 flies, female flies were trapped 36, 75 flies and the sex ratio comparison is 1: 1,7. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the best combination of NPK with liquid complement fertilizer, in the growth and production ca’yenne pepper. The research was carried out experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications so that there are                      24 experimental units and each unit consists of three plants, so that population ca’yenne pepper was 72 plants. The treatment consists P1: 100 kg NPK/Ha with   1 g PPC/1l water, P2: 100 kg NPK/Ha with 2 g PPC/1l water, P3: 150 kg NPK/Ha with 1 g PPC/1l water, P4: 150 kg NPK/Ha with 2 g PPC/1l water,                        P5: 200 kg NPK/Ha with 1 g PPC/1l water, P6: 200 kg NPK/Ha with 2 g PPC/1l water. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and proceeded further by Duncan’s test at 5% level. The result of this research showed that utilizing of combination NPK fertilizer with liquid complement fertilizer significant toward plant height, stem circumference, the amount of fruit and not significant toward days to flowering, harvestingage, weight of fresh fruit, and single fruit weight. Treatments of combination 100 kg NPK/Ha with 1 g PPC/1l water showed the best growth and production ca’yenne pepper. Keywords: NPK fertilizer, liquid complement fertilizer, cayenne pepper

Abstract

This research aims to gain palm oil seed that fulfill quality standard while give liquid  complementary fertilizerthough the seeds that stressed by flooding. The research was done in a Completely Randomized Design 3x3 and 3 replication. The first factor is seeds age, there are u0 = 3 months, u1 = 5 months, and u2 = 7 months age of palm oil, and the second factor is concentrate of liquid  complementary fertilizer, there are p0 = 0 ppm, p1 = 6 ppm, and p2 = 12 ppm. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance andfurthertestedusingDuncan`sNewMultiple RangeTestatthe level of 5%,to decide criteria of seeds quality used standard of seeds quality according to Sihombing (2013). The result of research shows that there is no interaction between seeds age and concentrate of liquid  complementary fertilizer on all observation variable. Seeds which is 5 months old and have stressed by flooding fulfill standard of seeds quality, but seeds which is 3 months and 7 months old don’t fulfill the standard of seeds quality only on height diference seeds. The ratio of roots, dry weight of seeds, and standard index of palm oil seed that stressed by floodingare better if we give liquid  complementary fertilizer in 6 to 12 ppm. Abstract

This research aims to improve the growth and production as well as the interaction of bacteria solvent phosphate and the best dosage of rock phosphate on green beans variety 129 that grown in peat medium. This study was conducted in the area of Jalan Kutilang Sakti Panam, Pekanbaru, from May to November 2012 by using a randomized block design (RAK) factorial. The first factor consists of 2 levels of bacteria solvent phosphate (B), namely: free of bacteria solvent phosphate and granting bacteria solvent phosphate. The second factor is the dosage of rock phosphate (P) in 5 levels i.e; without granting rock phosphate, 0.186 of rock phosphate g/polybag, 0.372 g of rock phosphate/polybag, 0.558 g of rock phosphate/polybag, and 0.744 g of rock phosphate/polybag. Parameters noted were dry weight, root dry weight, the proportion of the pithy pods, the percentage of the total pod, weight of 100 seeds, and harvest seed weight of the green bean plants. Observations results were statistically analyzed by using variance analysis then continued by Duncan's multiple range testson the level 5%. The results showed that, in general, the treatment of bacterial solvent phosphate significantly influenced all of the parameters of the observation. The best combination contained on the combination of bacterial solvent phosphate and dosage 0.744 g of rock phosphate as the best result in crown dry weight, root dry weight, pithy pods percentages total pods percentages, 100 seeds weight, and harvesting seeds weight of green beans plants. Abstract

Fruit flies is a major pest on guajava plants. The research was done in the Center of Agricultural Development and the Laboratory of Plant Pest, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from January until March 2015. The way of controling this pest by usingatractant. The result showed that there were two species pest of fruit flies guajava,Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel and Bactrocera umbrosa Fabricius. The research showed thatBactrocera dorsalis Hendelthat also caughtwas 220, 780, 819, and 1409 fruit flies. The research showed that of 5, 8, 18 and 16 fruit flies. Abstract

The research intent to know ameliorant influence to efficient using of P fertilizers and the best recommanded for growth and production of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) Situ Bagendit variety on ultisol. Research conducted in UPT area of research farm in faculty of agriculture, Riau University on Bina Widya Campus Km 12,5 sub-district of Simpang Baru, district of Tampan, Pekanbaru from December 2014 until Mei 2015. This research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design which consist of 9 treatments and then obtained 27 experimental units with 3 sample each unit. Parameter observed rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, ameliorant influence in the efficient to product of grain rice, plant height, productive tiller number, panicle length, the percentage of pithy grain, 1000 seed weight, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by HSD at level of 5%. The result showed that giving ameliorant be BFA 12,5 g, green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g and green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g + BFA 12,5 g can give the best result in rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, productive tiller number, plant height, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight.   Keywords : ameliorant, P fertilizer, upland rice, ultisol.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effect of liquid organic fertilizer made ​​from tofu with NPK and to get the best dose for the growth of cocoa seedlings. This research was carried out experiments with liquid organic fertilizer combination treatment with NPK arranged according to completely randomized design ( CRD ) which consists of 6 levels : P1 = liquid organic fertilizer 200 ml +NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P2 = liquid organic fertilizer 400 ml +NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P3 = liquid organic Fertilizer 600 ml + NPK 7,5 g/polybag, P4 = liquid organic fertilizer 200 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag, P5 = liquid organic fertilizer 400 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag and P6 = liquid organic fertilizer 600 ml + NPK 15 g/polybag. Each treatment was repeated four times so that there are 24 experimental units. Parameters measured were seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), stem diameter (cm), the ratio of the root crown and seedling dry weight (g). The data analysis results were significant statistical test followed by Duncun test at 5 % level. Giving a combination of liquid organic fertilizer with NPK significant effect on all parameters observed that seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, crown ratio of dry weight of roots and seeds of cocoa and a combination of liquid organic fertilizer NPK 200 ml with                7,5 g/polybag produces the best cocoa seedling growth . Keywords : cocoa , liquid organic fertilizer , NPK
