Abstract

This Researh was aimed to determine growth and the best paddy rice variety with cultivation approacment and of jajar legowo and tegel system. The research was conducted at the farmer’s wet rice field in Sikek village, Rimba Melintang subdistrict, Rokan Hilir regency and start from Juni to October 2014. This research utilized Randomized Blok Design (RBD) factorial, The first factor was paddy rice, consist of 4 varieties: Inpara 4, Inpari 30, IR 64 and Situ Bagendit. The second factor was cultivation approachment, consist of jajar legowo and tegel system. The treatment consist of 8 combination with 3 replication so obtained 24 plot units. Parameters observed were the plant height, number of total tillers, number of productive tillers, age out of tassel, long of tassel, harvest, amount of grain per tassel, amount of dry grain per plot, percentage of unhusked grain per plot and weight of 1000 grains. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data were further tested by Duncan new multiple range test (DNMRT) at the level 5%.  The research result showed that planting paddy rice of Inpari 30 variety with approachment of jajar legowo cultivation technique 4:1 indicated better yield than tegel system. Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence some of the Tricho-compost formulated and to get the best Tricho-compost formulated in improving the growth and yield of red chilli. The research was conducted at the technical implementation unit Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau.  The research was performed in six months, from June 2014 until November 2014. This research was performed experimentally using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and four replicates. The analysis of variance was use for data and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level was used for mean separation. The observation is performed on each unit of the experiment with two examples of plants. As for the parameters observed in this study is dichotomous height, plant height, stem diameter, canopy width, flowering date, harvesting date, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and weight of  fruit per plant. The results showed those the treatment of Tricho-compost formulated, increased stem diameter, canopy width, flowering date, harvesting date, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and weight of  fruit per plant more than non treatment with the exception for dichotomous height and plant height. Treatment of Tricho-compost formulated (TKKS) show the best results by increasing 25,88% stem diameter, 8,16% flowering date, 68,96% fruit diameter, 47,95% weight per fruit and 74,26% weight of fruit per plant more than treatment of some Tricho-compost formulated. Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the interaction of oil palm empty  fruit bunches compost and boiler ash , and to determine  the appropriate dosage combination forthe growth and yield of onion. The research was conducted in experimental garden of Agricalture faculty University of Riau, Pekanbaru. It lasted from December 2014 until March 2015. The research was done in a Completely Randomized Design with two factors and was replicated three times. The first factor is the compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches consist of four levels. That is without  compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches, 0,3 ton/ha, 0,6 ton/ha, 0,9 ton/ha and 1,2 ton/ha. The second factor is the boiler ash consist of three levels, that is 50 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha and 150 kg/ha.Data analyzedby ANOVAandfurthertestedusing byDuncan`sNewMultiple RangeTest(DNMRT) atthe level of 5%. The result showed the application of combination oil palm empty bunch compost with boiler ash increased the plant hight,number of tubers, diameter of tubers, weight shelf tuber and fresh weight of onion's tuber. The application oil palm empty bunch compost 0,6-1,2 ton/ha not allowed with application of boiler ash, and on the application of boiler ash 50-1,2 kg/ha without application of oil palm empty bunch compot  has showed the highest yield, while the appication of oil palm empty bunch compost 0,3-1,2 ton/ha with boiler ash 50-150 kg/ha also showed the best yield.   Keywords :Onion, Compost Of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches, Boiler Ash

Abstract

Plant oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of commodity  plantation in Riau as a source of vegetable oil. In order to increase the production of the necessary good breeding. Seedling growth is strongly influenced by the availability of nutrients, so it takes fertilization. Fertilizers used are Palm Oil Mill Effluent (LCPKS). LCPKS contains nutrients that can be absorbed by plants. LCPKS has the disadvantage that volatile, so it need a way to overcome that problem. One solution that is used is the granting of Zeolite. Zeolite is able to bind nutrients that are available in a long time for plants. This research aims to get the best treatment on the growth of oil palm seedlings. Research conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research has been going on for three months starting from February to April 2015. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. The first factor is the Palm Oil Mill Effluent with 3 levels consisting of 0 ml, 195 ml and 390 ml. The second factor is a Zeolite with 3 levels consisting of 0 g, 50 g and 100 g. The combination is repeated 4 times so that there are 36 units of trial and each experimental unit consisted of two plants, so the total is 72 plants. Parameters measured were seedling high accretion (cm), number of leaves (pieces), stem diameter (cm), root volume (ml), the ratio of crown roots, and seedling dry weight (g). Statistical analysis using ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test at 5%. The results showed that there was no interaction LCPKS and Zeolite on all parameters of observation. Combination of LCPKS 390 ml and 50 g zeolites tend to produce the best growth on the parameters in the number of leaves, stem diameter and root volume. Abstract

The objectives of this research to determine the soil biological properties on the acidic mineral soil Dystrudepts in the area of disc palm oil applied of organic mulch Mucuna bracteata in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, Riau University. Analysis of the soil biological was conducted in the Soil Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Riau University, in October 2014 to February 2015. Application of mulch organic M. bracteata used purposive random sampling method which consisting of 4 levels and 4 replications. The levels is M0 (0 kg /plant), M1 (15 kg /plant), M2 (30 kg /plant) and M3 (45 kg /plant). Parameter observed : calculate the amount of soil biota macrofauna, mesofauna and microorganism. Data were analyzed deskriptively statistically. The research showed application of organic mulch M. bracteata 45 kg/plant increased the amount of soil biota macrofauna, mesofauna and microorganism soil, in the area of disc palm oil. Abstract

Kailan (Brassica alboglabra) are vegetables that beneficial to human health because it can help digestion, neutralize acidity and prevent disease. Kailan cultivation is closely related to fertilization and cultivation technical factors. One of fertilizers that can provide nutrients for plants kailan is a liquid fertilizer. Agricultural land is increasingly narrow lead farmers, especially those living in urban areas should make efficient use of land in order to achieve maximum production, one of the ways that can be done to address the problem of limited land is cultivated verticulture system. The research aims to determine the effect of paralon positions and provision of various concentrations of complementary liquid fertilizer and to know the paralon position combination with complementary liquid fertilizer concentration appropriate to plant growth kailan (Brassica alboglabra) with verticulture cultivation system. The experiment was conducted at the home screen experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau for 3 months, from August to October 2014. The experiment was conducted by using a split plot design (Split Plot Design). The main plot is a variety of positions paralon (P), which consists of three levels: P1:Position paralon top (height 120 cm), P2: paralon middle position (height 80 cm), P3: Position paralon under (height 40 cm). The subplots are complementary liquid fertilizer concentration (B) consists of 4 levels: B0: Without fertilizer(control), B1: Fertilizers liquid complementary 1 cc/l water, B2: Fertilizers liquid complementary 2cc/l, B3: Fertilizers complementary liquid 3cc /l. The results showed that the combination treatment paralon position as the main plots and complementary liquid fertilizer as subplots provide no real effect on all parameters. Single factor paralon top position (120 cm) as well as complementary liquid fertilizer at a dose of 3 cc / l water can increase plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight, weight suitable for consumption and plant dry weight kailan. Abstract

The objective of this research was to study of cultivation techniques palm oil independent farmers and social aspects to palm oil production. This research has conducted in Lubuk Dalam District Siak Regency from August 2014 until October 2014. The research was conducted using survey and the sampling used for this research purposive sampling. Consist of 60 sample, based on 10% level of representation. 30 sample drawn from Rawangkao Village and 30 sample drawn from Lubuk Dalam Village. The parameters studied were, land clearing, the origin of the seeds, size of planting holes, seed age, plant spacing, pruning, control of weeds and fertilization. The results show that the average production palm oil of farmers are still very low at less than 50% when compared to the average production of palm oil of PPKS Medan on mineral lands in general. The low production of palm oil cultivation techniques of farmers due to conducted as seed origin, plant spacing, pattern spacing, the size of the planting hole, transplanting seedlings into the ground, fertilizing, are still quite low level of the appropriate palm oil cultivation techniques application in the field.   Keywords: Cultivation Techniques Palm, Independent Farmers, Siak Regency

Abstract

Soybean crops are grain-producing potential to be developed and improved production, because of the diversity of its benefits. Soybean production can be enhanced by utilizing the existing land, tilling the soil well and provide fertilizer according to the needs of plants. Organic NPK fertilizer is one of the fertilizer that can be used to increase the production of soybean plants. This research aimed to influence a wide range of organic NPK fertilizer doses and getting the best dose for the growth and yield of soybean. This research has been conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru City for 4 months starting in July 2014 to October 2014. This research was carried out experiments using a randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used in this research is:           ( 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 ) kg/ha. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and tested further by using honest significant difference at 5% level. Organic NPK fertilizer significant effect on dry weight of plants, plant height, days to flowering, harvesting, amount pod, amount of pods pithy and production of dry seeds/m2. Organic NPK fertilizer dose administration of        450 kg/ha showed good growth and production of the soybean. Keywords: soybean, organic NPK fertilizer, production
