Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in March 2017 in Nagari Mungo Luak Subdistrict fifty City District West Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of the use of production factors in the gouramy hatchery business, analyzing the income of gouramy fish farmers, to analyze BEP value of acceptance, BEP production and BEP price. The method used in this research is survey method with total population of gouramy fish cultivators 120 people taken as many as 36 people. The respondent collected using random sampling technique.The technical analysis used areNPM/BKM ratio analysis, income analysis, BEP analysis. Based on the results of research indicate that: The use of production factors of hatchery gouramy has not efisisen. Gross income of gurami hatchery business in Nagari Mungo is Rp 37,569,444/ 3 months and net income is Rp 30,680,137. For the BEP value of the average revenue of fish breeding gouramy Rp 944.496, BEP average production of 609 heads, and BEP average price of 100 Rp / head. Keywords: Production, Efficiency, Income, Gouramy Fish

Abstract

The research was conducted for 56 days since 18th November 2015 to 16th January 2017. This study aims to determine the effect of substitution of fish meal with earthworm flour to the growth of the seed catfish. This experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely the replacement of fishmeal with flour earthworms respectively 0% (P1), 10% (P1), 20% (P2), 30% (P3), and 40% (P4) with the feed protein content of 30%. The fish samples used in this study are seed-sized catfish average weight of 2.0 grams with stocking density 20 birds per container experiment. Based on the results of this study concluded that earthworm flour can be used to substitute for fishmeal in feed seed catfish. The level of earthworm flour substitution is best with a substitution rate of 30% earthworm flour + 70% fishmeal.Key Word : Pangasius hypopthalmus, Earthworms, Substitution, Growth

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the relationship between metals Pb, Cu, Zn concentration in sea water and in snail C. montagnei, to determine the pollution level of Desa Gemuruh coastal waters of Kundur Island, as well as to evaluate the safety level of the snail for human consumption. The research was conducted in February – March 2017 by collecting samples from three different stations from Desa Gemuruh coastal waters. Metal concentration analysis was done in Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau. The results showed that the average Pb, Cu, Zn concentrations in sea waters were 0,0408 mg/L; 0,0438 mg/L; and 0,1424 mg/L, while in snails were 1,0315 μg/g ; 0,9261 μg/g ; 54,1507 μg/g respectively for Pb, Cu, and Zn. The linear regression showed that the raising of Pb and Zn concentration in sea waters, were followed by increasing metal concentrations in snails, but Cu concentration in sea waters were not followed by its increasing concentrations in snails. The larger the body size of the snail the higher metals were accumulated by the snail. This study also showed that MPI values obtain from Desa Gemuruh coastal waters of Kundur Island 3,7260 were classified as lower than other research locations. Snails from this coastal waters are still considered to be safe to be consumed by human with safety level were 6,7864 Kg per week for Pb, 1079,7840 Kg per week for Cu, and 36,1953 Kg per week for Zn.Keywords: Heavy metals, marine pollution, Cerithidea montagnei, Kundur Island

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April – Mei 2017 di desa Pulau Halang Muka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat kemiskinan, mendeskripsikan kondisi kemiskinan, dan untuk memberikan saran penanggulangan kemiskinan. Metode penelitian adalah menggunakan gabungan dari metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif, dan menggunakan anaslisis deskriptif.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata rumah tangga nelayan buruh adalah berkategori miskin. Penyebab kemiskinan nelayan adalah : (1) Produksi perikanan rendah (2) Pendapatan rumah tangga nelayan rendah, (3) Pekerjaan alternatif kurang (4) Modal yang terbatas (5) Tingkat pendidikan rendah, (6) Nelayan masih bergantung dengan pemilik kapal, (7) Beban keluarga yang banyak dan (8) Pola konsumsi boros.  Upaya penanggulangan yang dilakukan Pemerintah Rokan Hilir untuk masyarakat nelayan berupa bantuan alat penangkapan, seperti kapal, jaring dan dari pemerintah pusat seperti Bantuan Langsung Tunai, Beras Sejahtera, asuransi nelayan dan Pengembangan Usaha Mina Perikanan. Dalam pelaksanaan bantuan tersebut masih sarat akan nepotisme sehingga tidak tepatnya sasaran bantuan. Implikasi penanggulangan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu : (1) Meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat nelayan dengan sosialisasi dan pelatihan, (2) Bimbingan dari tenaga penyuluh perikanan profesional, (3) Penumbuhan dan pengembangan Kelompok Usaha Bersama, (4) Permudah akses nelayan terhadap modal, (5) Menciptakan usaha alternatif dan (5) Meningkatkan partisipasi istri nelayan terhadap pendapatan rumah tangga.Kata Kunci: Nelayan, Penyebab Kemiskinan, Penanggulangan Kemiskinan, Pulau Halang Muka.

Abstract

This study has been conducted on Maret to June 2016 in at Parasite and Fish DiseaseLaboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. Theaims of this study was to know changes in liver and kidney tissue structures of catfish(Clarias gariepinus) fed simplisia mangosteen rind. This study used an experimentalmethod and histological of the liver and kidney structure of Clarias gariepinus wereanalyzed by descriptive. The treated fishes were fed in three differentconcentrations of fed simplisia mangosteen rind. Kn: (feed control) the fish were notfed simplisia mangosteen rind, P1: The fish were fed simplisia mangosteen rind 2g/kg, P2: The fish were fed simplisia mangosteen rind 4 g/kg, P3: The fish were fedsimplisia mangosteen rind 6 g/kg and fishes were reared for 60 days. Showed that theabnormalities of liver and kidney such us inflammatory cells, haemorrhage,h yp e r t r h o p y and necrosis. Base on data obtain it can be concluded that the bestconcentration of simplisia mangosteen rind 2 g/kg is able to prevent damage of liverand kidney after given fed simplisia mangosteen rind.Key words : Clarias gariepinus, simplisia mangosteen rind, histopathology,kidney, liver

Abstract

ABSTRAKIkan merupakan bahan pangan yang mudah rusak, sehingga diperlukan cara penanganan yang tepat untuk menjaga kesegaran ikan sejak ikan ditangkap tanpa menggunakan bahan pengawet yang berbahaya. Penerapan prinsip penanganan ikan segar dengan rantai dingin merupakan salah satu cara mempertahankan suhu ikan menggunakan es yang ditambahkan selama proses distribusi dan pemasaran tanpa penambahan bahan pengawet kimia yang berbahaya., baik itu di pasar tradisional maupun pasar modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan perbedaan kemunduran mutu serta mengetahui kandungan formalin ikan tongkol segar di pasar modern dan tradisional Kota Pekanbaru. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dan observasi langsung ke pasar modern dan tradisional.Parameter yang diuji adalah analisis formalin, uji ALT dan Escherichia coli. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tidak terdapat kandungan formalin pada ikan tongkol segar yang berasal dari pasar modern dan tradisional Kota Pekanbaru periode Juni 2017. Pada uji ALT ikan tongkol segar jika dilihat dari rerata, hasil uji yang diperoleh pada pasar modern pukul 08.00 sebanyak 2,7 x 105 koloni/gr, pukul 13.00 sebanyak 3,7 x 105 koloni/gr dan pukul 18.00 sebanyak 4,5 x 105 koloni/gr  sedangkan pada pasar tradisional hasil yang diperoleh pada pengambilan sampel pukul 06.00 sebanyak 1,2 x 105 koloni/gr, pukul 08.00 sebanyak 2,7 x 105 koloni/gr dan pukul 10.00 sebanyak 4,6 x 105 koloni/gr. Sementara itu, Escherichia coli diindikasikan negatif pada ikan yang dijajakan di kedua macam pasar tersebut. Kata Kunci: Euthynnus affinis, kemunduran mutu, pasar modern, pasar tradisional

Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2016 in Pasumpahan Island at district Bungus, Padang city, province of west Sumatera. The purpose of this research was to know the condition of the coral reefs, such as: the percentage of living coral, variety, Uniformity, and domination based on life form of the coral. The method in this research was survey method by using Line Intercept Transect (LIT). It was consisted of three stations where each station was divided into two sub-depth (4 and 8 meters depth). The results show that the form of coral growth consisted of Acropora Branching (ACB), Acropora Encrusting (ACE), Acropora Submassive (ACS), Acropora Digitate (ACD), Acropora Tabulate (ACT), Coral Branching (CB), Coral Massive (CM), Coral Encrusting (CME), Coral Submassive (CS), Coral Foliose (CF), Coral Heliopora (CHL) dan Coral Mushroom (CMR). The condition of coral reefs in Psumpahan Island was good in the dept of 4 meter (60.70%) and in the dept of 8 meter (56.85%). Life form diversiy was moderate (H’ 2.99),while domination was low dominace (C 0.15), as well uniformity (E 0:37).Keywords : Condition, Coral reefs, Pasumpahan Island.

Abstract

Research has been conducted in the month of February – April 2017 at Village Waters Jago-Jago of Tapanuli Tengah North Sumatera. The aim of this study was to determine the density and biomass and station characteristics determine the effect of the density and biomass of seagrass Enhalus acoroides in Village Waters Jago-Jago North Sumatera. Results showed the highest density of seagrass Enhalus acoroides was located on the mangrove forest community areas (station III) in the amount of 45,55 shoots/m2. Enhalus acorides biomass was highest at station III with a dry weight of 110,70 gr/m2. The lowest of seagrass biomass was at residential areas (station I) with a dry weight of 75,5 gr/m2. The result of simple linier regression test for the effect of density on biomass obtained r = 0,717.Keywords : Enhalus acoroides, Density, Biomass, Village Waters Jago-Jago

Abstract

This Study was conducted in October 2016 in the Mendol Island Pelalawan district of Kuala Kampar in Riau Province. The method used in this research is survey method. Fishermen household in Teluk village is 220 FH’s, consisting of 80 FH’s using Gombang fishing gear, and 140 FH’s using Nets fishing gear. To facilitate the researcher, 10% of the RTP is taken, so that the sample of respondents using Gombang 8 RTP fishing equipment, and the sample of respondents who use the fishing gear as much as 14 FH’s. So the respondents are to 22 FH’s. Based on the results of research that has been conducted on the income of fishermen households from fisheries and non fisheries sector in Mendol Island Kuala Kampar sub district Pelalawan Riau Province can be drawn some conclusions, namely: 1) fisherman income from the fishery sector IDR. 40.350.000 per year (gombang) and IDR. 12.455.000 per year (net). Revenue from non-fishery sector IDR. 12,725,491 per year (gombang) and IDR. 13,333,333 per year (net). Fishermen income IDR. 53,075,491 per year (gombang) and IDR. 25,788,333 per year (net); 2) income contribution from non-fishery sector to total income of fisherman household in Teluk is 62,16%, meanwhile income contribution from non fishery sector to total fisherman household income in Gulf is equal to 37,84%. Abstract

Sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a is an important parameter Oceanography for estimate the abundance and distribution of fish. The purpose of this research is to know the variability of SST and chlorophyll-a spatially and temporally, and to analyze the relationship between SST and chlorophyll-a by catch. The research area is located in the Indian Ocean. The data used is satellite data Aqua MODIS image of level 3 were downloaded via the site ERDDAP and fisheries data used is the large pelagic fish catches landed in PPS Bungus. All variables were analyzed variability. SST data interpretation and chlorophyll-a with the interpretation of the data mapped catches further analyzed using multiple regression analysis. From processing the image data on a monthly basis SST highest average value in May is 30.7 0C while the lowest average in the can in January is 29.4 0C. The values of chlorophyll-a highest average in February and September with a concentration of 0.17 mg/m3, while the lowest average value in April and May in the amount of 0.12 mg/m3. While the density variability CPUE highest average value in August amounted to 72.22 while the lowest density values CPUE in September is 2.73. As for the seasonal average value of the highest SPL season inbetween I of 34.1 0C and the lowest in East season is 32.5 0C. Chlorophyll-a seasonally highest in the transition season II with a value of 0.15 mg/m3 whereas for the other seasons have the same concentration value of 0.13 mg/m3. The relationship between the parameters of the fishing effort is not tight correlation only in November high at 0.61 the influence of X1 and X2 to Y is equal to 37%. Seasonal hubugannya closely not only on the season Southwestern highest correlation with r value of 0.22, while the greatest effect of 5%.Keywords: sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a, variability, the Indian Ocean, CPUE
