Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research was conducted in July-August 2018 in the village of Insit, Tebing Tinggi Barat District, Meranti Islands, Riau Province. The objectives of this research are (1) to know the technical analysis of the operation of wave fishing gear, (2) to find out the feasibility of a wave fishery business. The method used in this study is a direct survey method by making observations to the field by looking at fishing activities using wave fishing devices. Data collection was carried out by going directly to the field by making arrests and interviewing the fishermen on the wave.Gombang capture technology influenced several factors that is tidal factor, current velocity, water depth and weather. The results of the business feasibility analysis calculations indicate that fisheries gombang provide benefits to fishermen and deserves to be developed because of the value of BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio) is obtained at 1.8, FRR (Financial Rate of Return) is 34%. and PPC (Payback Period of Capital) is 2 years and 9 month and 15 days. Keywords :Gombang, Technology, Business Feasibility, Desa Insit

Abstract

ABSTRACT             Osteochillus hasselti is present in the Tarai River that has relatively good water quality, as well as in the Sibam River that has polluted water. The water condition of the rivers my affects the fish health status in general. A study aimed to understand the histological structure of gill of the fish from those rivershas been conducted from February to April 2018. Fish organs were histologically processed and stained (HE). Results shown that in general, the histological structure of the gill of fish from both areas shown abnormality. Cell abnormality such as hyperplasia, oedema, hypertrophy, curling of the secondary lamella, and telangiectasis are present in all fish. The Histopathological Alteration Index (HAI) values, however shown that the  Tarai fish gill was better than that of the Sibam fish, they were 1.44 and 23.77 respectively. Keywords:gill condition, fish organ, Histopathological Alteration Index , gill abnormality

Abstract

Abstract Climbing perch (Anabas testudineus) is one of freshwater fish living in the swamp area in the Sawah Village. Information on the biological aspect of this fish, however, is limited. A study aims to understand the reproductive biological aspect of this fish has been conducted from March-April 2018. The fish was sampled once/week for a month period. They were 100 fishes, 36 males and 64 females. Sex ratio of females and males was 1:2.2. In each sampling time there were male fishesin 1st, 2nd, and 3rd while female fishes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th maturity level. The gonado somatic index (GSI) in males were around 0.12-3.33% and females were around 0.68-10.23%.The female’s fecundity were arround 20,193-28,500 eggs/fish, and mature egg diameter ranged from 0.4-0.7 mm.Keywords : Climbing perch, Sex ratio, gonad maturity level, GSI,

ABSTRACT The study was conducted in July – August 2018  in Singkarak Lake of Sumatera Barat  Province. This study aims to(1) identifiy the environmentally friendly fishing gearsin accordance with the FAO (1995),(2) know the fishing gear that has highest level of environmental friendliness. The method used is the survey method is with direct observation in the field and conducting interview with fishermen, Collecting data using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis of the results of the research described in graphic form, and tables. Based on field observations in the know that fishing gear used by fishermen in lake Singkarak is classified as a very enviromental friendly and eviromental friendly fishing gear and not eviromental friendlyfishing gear. The results of this research showed that fishing rod, gillnet, cast netare a very enviromental friendly fishing gear, while lift net are an enviromental friendly fishing gear and fish trap not are an enviromental friendly fishing gear. Keywords :Identification,CCRF,Fishing gears, FAO, environmentally friendly

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in July - August 2018 in the Siantan Island ofAnambas Islands Regency Riau Islands Province.Aim to (1) Know the potential of maritime ecotourism on the island of Siantan, Anambas Islands Regency (2) the strategy of developing maritime ecotourism in the Anambas Islands Regency. The method used in this research was survey method and purposive sampling.Data collected include the selection of respondents, identification of tourist activities and measurement of water quality. The analysis used in this study was an analysis of aspects of supporting marine tourism, tourism suitability analysis, analysis of the economic potential of marine ecotourism, and SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicated that Siantan Island has the potential to be developed as a marine ecotourism area, with the category S1 (Very Appropriate) with tourist suitability index value at station I (87.17%) and II (83.33%).These results indicate that Siantan Island has potential natural resources. The results of the SWOT analysis showed several alternative management strategies that appropriate for the development of marine ecotourism on Siantan Island. The results of the SWOT analysis show several alternative management strategies that  appropriate for the development of marine ecotourism on Siantan Island, the analysis consists of three priorities, namely: 1) Spatial and regional arrangement by establishing a zoning system for marine tourism activities, community activities and management of the coastal environment, 2) Improvement of transportation to tourist sites to make it easier for tourists to come to Siantan Island, 3) improvement of facilities and infrastructure for marine tourism activities. Keywords: Marine Ecotourism, RegionalPotentiaL, Siantan Island

Abstract

AbstractOmpok hypophthalmus is freshwater fish that inhabit the Tarai River. That fish has high economic value, and it is more than Rp 60.000/kg. Information on biological aspects of this fish, including morphometric, meristic, and growth patterns, however, is rare. To understand the morphometrical, meristical characteristics and growth pattern of this fish, a research had been conducted from April-June 2018. There were 78 fishes(183-56 mm SL dan 45,32-1.23 gr BW) captured from the river. There were 25 morphological characteristics measured and 6 meristical characteristics counted. There were 7 morphometrical characteristic differences between male and female. In female fish, distance between ventral fin to the base of anal fin, height of dorsal fin, distance anal fin to the base of caudal fin, height ventral fin, and length of base caudal finare longer than those of the male, but male has longer distance mouth to the eye, and length of pectoral fin than female. The meristical characteristics were as follows: D.4, P.I.13-15, V.6-8, A.63-82, C.17-19. The length-weight relationship shown that the growth of male and female was isometric. Keywords:Sheatfish, Isometric, Morphological Characteristics, Meristical      Characteristic

Abstract

ABSTRACT Dinoflagellates are phytoplankton which, besides being planktonic, are also benthic which live in association with seagrasses, macroalgae, coral fractures and sand. Dinoflagellates acts as a primary producer in waters. This research was carried out in Mei 2018 in the waters of Malang Rapat Village, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aims to determine the concentration of nitrates and phosphates in the waters, to find out the abundance of toxic benthic dinoflagellates on Sargassum sp seaweed and to see the relationship of nitrate and phosphate concentrations with the abundance of toxic benthic dinoflagellates. The research method used is a survey method in which the sampling location is determined by purposive sampling. Measurements of water quality were carried out directly in place and further research in laboratory which consisting of physical and chemical parameters of the waters. In the study found 3 genus of toxic dinoflagelates, namely Prorocentrum, Gambierdiscus and Ostreopsis. The highest dinoflagellate abundance at station 3 was 302,279 cells/g and the lowest at station 4 was 133,529 cells/g. The results of simple linear regression analysis between nitrate concentration has a positive relationship to dinoflagellate abundance with the regression equation y = 187.4 + 317.8 x and the results of simple linear regression analysis between phosphate concentration have a negative relationship to the abundance of dinoflagellates with the regression equation y = 207 , 5 -206,3 x. Key Word : Dinoflagellate, Sargassum sp, Abundance, Malang Rapat
