Abstract

Abstract Teluk Pambang Village in Bengkalis Regency which is located in the Riau Province is one of the villages that is very vulnerable to abrasion, because it is an area that faces the Malacca Strait and has a peat texture. This study examined how much the abrasion rate and the extent of the shoreline changes that occurred in Teluk Pambang Village by using Landsat satellite imagery data in the last 20 years. Landsat satellite image data processing consists of geometric calibration, image cutting, image sharpening and digitization so that the coastline position for each data year is obtained. Changes in the coastline from year to year are analyzed by the process of overlapping data for a certain period of time. The results of this study indicate that Teluk Pambang Village experiences abrasion with varying levels of abrasion. changes in coastline Teluk Pambang Village The last 20 years from 1997 - 2017 there was an abrasion of 4.18 m / year and sedimentation of 5.33 m / year. The change of coastline in Teluk Pambang Village is abrasion of 418.88 m and sedimentation area of 218.28 m. There is a positive relationship of current velocity with abrasion velocity and abrasion velocity relationship with wave energy obtained from linear regression results on the graph.Critical beaches that experience maximum abrasion rates are recommended to be immediately addressed so that abrasion does not continue in subsequent years. Keywords: Abrasion, Accretion, Landsat Image, Coastline, TelukPambang Village

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This study was aimed to determine the effect of fortification of freshwater mussel shell (Pilsbryoconchaexilis) flour on cookies towards consumer acceptance. The experimental method was used in this research with one factor of Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely the addition of freshwater mussel shell flour on cookies production with 4 levels of concentration: 0% (CK-0), 0.5% (CK-0.5), 1% (CK-1), and 1.5% (CK-1.5). The parameter tested was consumer acceptance with 80 untrained panelists. The results showed that 1% (CK-1) treatment was the best treatment based on consumer acceptance with appearance 100%, color 98.75%, odor 100%, and flavor 100%.The characteristics for cookies produced were neat, the surface of cookies was flawless, brilliant and shiny yellow of color with a little bit brown color on the bottom. The odor of cookies was thought to originate from the mussel shell flour and the ingredients for cookies such as butter and vanilla which have a fragrant and not fishy odor and good taste and the mussel shell flour was not felt. However, based on the statistical analysis that the fortification of mussel shell flour on cookies production did not significantly different among treatment with 95% of confidence level. Keywords: Catfish Shell flour, freshwater mussel, Pilsbryoconcha exilis, cookies, consumer acceptance

Abstract

ABSTRACT BatangArau River received organic matter from domestic activities conducted around the river. As the load capacity of a river is limited, any load addition may damage the ecosystem in the river. The aims of this study is to determine the capacity of the organic pollution load of the BatangArau River based on the BOD and COD content. This research was conducted in June 2017. There were 5 stations, in the upstream (S1), in the middle of the river (S2 and S3) and in the downstream (S4 and S5). Water samplings were conducted 3 times, once per week. Parameters measured were BOD and COD. The load capacity was calculated using a mass balance method. Results shown that the BOD content was 4.3 mg/L and COD 17.7 mg/L. Based on government standard (PP. 82 of 2001), the river is categorized as polluted and it may not be able to receive any organic matter load addition.Keyword :Mass balance method, pollution load, organic matter, domestic activities
