Abstract

AbstractPalm oil waste can have a negative impact on the environment and can stimulate gene mutations in certain bacteria. The bacteria can produce bio surfactants to reduce the level of oil pollution. This study aims to identify bacteria capable of producing bio surfactants from the anaerobic pond of the palm oil industry WWTP PT. Sawit Asahan Indah, Ujung Batu, Rokan Hulu Regency. The study was conducted from April to May 2019. Samples were diluted and enriched using BHI (Brain Heart Infusion) media for 24 hours. Furthermore, samples were identified in morphological, biochemical and RNA (18SR) methods. Based on the results of the study, three types of bacteria were obtained, namely Proteus Mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris and E. coli. The Proteus Mirabilis emulsification index is 46.6%, and Proteus vulgaris is 45%. Abstract

ABSTRACTCoastal water of Tanjung Medang located Northen part of Rupat Island adjacent to Mallacca straits, where anthrophogenic activities increased lately, including marine transport, harbour, settle wents and others. Above activities would lead to pollution coastal water where seagrass (Enhalus acoroides) inhabit. Heavy metals Pb, Cu and Zn were analized fromlocal seagrass which used as bioindicator of pollution. The results showed that the average content of heavy metalsPb in the root, stem and leaf at each station  ranged from 1,7556 µg/g - 3,9818 µg/g,  and the heavy Cu ranged from 1,0711 µg/g - 1,8499 µg/g, while Zn range for 23,6978 µg/g - 41,7911 µg/g. Mean while heavy metals for the sea water content of Pb ranged from 1,2120 µg/g - 1,8200 µg/g, Cu is 0,5240 µg/g - 1,4693µg/g and Zn is 3,6800 µg/g - 13,7467 µg/g. Plant uptake of heavy metals Pb, Cu  and Zn was highest in the roots and leaf. The corelation heavy metals in water and seagrass appeared low. The results suggest that Enhalus acoroides can be used as bio-indicators to describe the condition of the waters of Tanjung Medang contaminated by heavy metals.Key words : Heavy Metals, Enhalus acoroides, Tanjung Medang

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted on July 6, 2018 at Kuala Tungkal Beach Fisheries Port (PPP), West Tanjung Jabung, Jambi Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of facilities that support the continuity of fish landing activity at the Kuala Tungkal Beach Fisheries Port (PPP). The data was gathered through direct observation, questionnaires and interviews with respondents. Facilities play a role in supporting the continuity of fishing port’s operation. Insufficiency or unavailability from one of the necessary facilities would inhibit the continuity of the port’s operation. This problem is often found in many fishing ports. Kuala Tungkal Beach Fisheries Port is one of the only type C fishing ports in Jambi Province which opens opportunities for investors both from within and outside the country. The analysis was done descriptively after identification of existing facilities and activities and recalculation of the capacity place for fish auction, dock and port pool. One of the facilities of fish landing activity in Kuala Tungkal Beach Fisheries Port (PPP), such as the fish auction place (TPI), is not used by fishermen so the utilization rate cannot be calculated. For dock facilities it has 80 m length and 2 m depth. Based on the calculation results showed that the required loading length is 27.14 m and the utilization rate is 6.88% and for port pool facilities it has 600 m2 area and 2 m depth. Based on the calculation of the required port pool area is 8.029.236 m2 with the utilization rate is 3.44%.Keywords: port facilities, fishing port, PPP Kuala Tungkal
