Abstract

Abstrack      This research was conducted on Ocober 2019 at Singkarak Lake, West Sumatera. The purpose of this research was to identify construction, operation method, catch and environmental friendliness of gillnet.  The results of research showed the construction of gillnet has 100 meters length and 6 meters depth. Gillnet construction consist as webbing, upper main line, under main line, float line, float, buoy, sinker I and sinker II. Operation of fishing gear begin with preparation, operating and handling the catch. The main catch of gillnet is bilih and by catch is kapiek. Based on result of interview conducted on 16 respondents using a weighting of 9 criteria of  environmentaly friendly fishing gear according to FAO (1995). Gillnet is very environmental friendly fishing gear with score 32,0625. The result showed that there overfishing indications of bilih fish, consisting of decreased production and decreased oin catch size.Keywords: Construction, Environmental Friendly, Gillnet

Abstract

ABSTRACTSeveral activities in  Bakuok Lake contributed the input of organic and anorganic matter that affects the water quality, especially nutrient concentration in waters. A research aims to understand the trophic state of  Bakuok Lake based on TSI has been conducted in June-July 2019. There were three stations namely station 1 (plantation area), station 2 (residential area) and station 3 (fish cage area).In each station, there were 2 sampling points, in the surface (0.15 m) and 2 Secchi depth (1.74 m). Sampling were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were total phosphate, chlorophyll-a, transparancy, dissolved oxygen, CO2,pH and temperature. The value of water quality is as follows: the total phospatewas 0.10-0.22 mg/L, chlorophyll-a12.00-14.43 µg/L, transparency:58-87 cm, dissolved oxygen:6.57-7.54 mg/L, CO2:9.37-13.86 mg/L, pH: 5, temperature:29-31oC and TSI (Trophic State Index) value: 62.54-68.00. Based on TSI value, the Bakuok Lake can be categorized asmoderate to eutrophic.Keywords:Kampar River,Eutrophic, Oxbow Lake, Water Quality

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the nutrient content of mudskipper fish flour with different cooking. The method used in this research was a comparative experiment method,with the T-test consistedof  two treatments. There were steaming  (P1) and boiling (P2) with three replications, obtained 6 experimental units. The parameters measured in this research were the yield and the analysis of nutrient content (protein content, moisture content, ash content, and fat content). Based on the results of research obtained the best treatment was steaming with a yield rate of 16.56%, the of protein content 77.96%, moisture content of 5.23%, fat content of1.48% and ash content of 13.67%. The cooking treatment had a significant effect on the protein content and the moisture content of the fish flour from mudskipper (Periopthalmusminutus) produced.Keywords: boiling, fish flour, mudskipper, and steaming

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to determine the effect of the addition of fishbone flour of catfish in the making of cendol on consumer acceptance, todetermine the best concentration of fishbone flour of catfish in making cendol.The used method was an experimental method, with a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 levels of treatment, without adding fishbone flour (C0), adding 5% fishbone flour (C1), adding 10%fishbone flour (C2), and 15% fishbone flour (C3).The parameters used in this consumer acceptance test were organoleptic (appearance, odor, texture and flavor) and proximate analysis (moisture content, ash, protein, and calcium).The results showed that cendol with the addition of fishbone flour in C1 treatment (addition of 5% fishbone flour of catfish) was the best treatment with a consumer acceptance rate of more than 82% (> 65 panelists),with the characteristics of bright green color, pandanus odor, chewy and a slightly tasteless (non-fishy flavor). Furthermore the proximate value was 82.37% moisture content, 1.03%ash content, 1.65%protein content and 0.86%calcium content.Keywords: Cendol, fishbone flour of catfish, consumer acceptance

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This study aims to determine the composition of the catch of the step chart fishing gear that is operated in the Hajoran Village, Pandan District, North Sumatra ProvinceThis research was conducted in May 2019 in the Hajoran Village, Pandan District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. The method used in this study is a survey method that is observation by going directly to the field with fishermen to follow the fishing process starting from the process of dropping the fishing gear on the chart to calculate the number of catches at the time of raising the fishing gear on the chart. Data obtained is tabulated and then analyzed descriptively to reach a conclusion.            The data analyzed are the total number of catches (gr) as well as the type and number of catches (tails). In the manufacture of one unit of this step chart fishing gear can take 2-3 weeks and the price of making this one step chart as a whole (whole) and can be directly operated requires a cost of around Rp.75,000,000 to Rp.100,000,000.) the construction of fishing gear in the village of Hajoran consists of building structures, nets (waring), ballast, step on the chart, rollers and lights. And the ships used are 9 m long and 1.5mwide. The engine used on the ship is a Yamaha engine with a power of 15 PK. the most catches are obtained before midnight with a total weight of 170 (kg), a total weight of 490,491 (tails) and catches after midnight 134 (kg) and a total weight of 189,757 (tails).Keywords : Composition; Catch; Step Chart Capture Tool; Hajoran village; North Sumatra.

Abstract

ABSTRACTWaste pollution One of the distributors that produces liquid waste and has the potential to pollute water is restaurants.Peat water has a low nutrient content, but can be enriched by addition of fermented restaurant waste. This media can be used to grow Spirullina sp. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of fermented restaurant waste  as an alternative nutrient for the growth of Spirullina sp. This research was conducted in September-October 2019. RAL method was applied with 5 concentrations of fermented restaurant waste solutions, there were 400 ml / 2 L (P1), 800 ml / 2 L (P2), 1,200 ml / 2 L (P3), 1,600 ml / 2 L (P4), 0 ml / 2 L (P0/ control), with 3 repetitions. Each experimental unit was added with 100 ml of Spirullina sp (106 cells/L) and cultured for 10 days.  Results shown that Spirullina sp. grow well in all treatments, except control. The best results were obtained in P3 (5,625 x 106 cells/L and 3.0 g/L dried biomass) thatwas achieved in the 8th day.   Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that peat water can be enriched by fermented restaurant waste and can be used as nutrition for the growth of Spirullina sp.Keywords :Pollution, Organik Matters, Microalgae, Alternative Nutrient.

Abstract

AbstractSnakehead fish (Channa micropeltes) is one type of freshwater fish that lives in the Lubuk Siam Lake that has good water quality and the Sibam River that is polluted. The water condition may affectsthe fish health status  in general, especially in the gills. A study aims to determine the differences of gills structure of C.micropeltes fish from the Lubuk Siam Lake and Sibam River has been conducted from August to September 2018. The gills samples were prepared for histological observation using paraffin method and stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE), while the level of gills damage is studied using a Histopathological Alteration Index (HAI). Histological structure of thr gill of fish from both areas are different. The cell structure of the Sibam River fish has more abnormality compared with the cell structure of fish from the Lubuk Siam Lake. Result shown that the types of abnormality present were hyperplasia, odema and epitelium rupture. The HAI of the C. micropeltesfrom the Lubuk Siam Lake was 1, indicated that the gill was normal, while those the HAI of the C.micropeltes from the Sibam River was 8.33, indicated that the gill was normal.Keyword : Channamicropeltes, Lubuk Siam lake, Sibam River, Gill abnormality, HAI

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in August-November 2019 at the Hatchery  and fish breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University. The purpose of this study was to study the injection of ovaprim and the hormone oxytocin with different doses of ovulation and hatchability of Nilem fish (Osteochilus hasselti). The method used in this study is an experimental method using a completely randomized design with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were: O100% (100% Ovaprim), O75% + OK25% (75% Ovaprim + 25% Oxytocin), O50% + OK50% (50% Ovaprim + 50% Oxytocin), O25% + OK75% ( 25% Ovaprim + 75% Oxytocin), OK100% (100% Oxytocin). The best treatment is in the treatment of O50% + OK 50% (50% Ovaprim 50% Oxytocin) with a latent time of 5 hours 10 minutes, ∑ THS 189 eggs / g, IOS 10,63%, increase in egg diameter 0,1 mm, increase in egg maturity 78,79%. FR value 87.59%, HR 89.06%, and SR on the 5th day was 78.79%. Water quality measurements range from: temperature 26-280C, DO 2.9-6.4 ppm, and pH 6-7.Keywords :Osteochilus hasselti, Ovaprim, Oxytocin, Ovulation, Hatching rate

Abstract

ABSTRACT             The study was conducted on July 10th to August 8th, 2019 Rokan River, Ujung Tanjung Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to determine the composition of the wire mesh haul operated in the Rokan River in Ujung Tanjung. The method used in this study was a survey method. This study was conducted in one month for eight replications, and 20 units of mesh operated in one arrest operation. Each station was submerged by 10 units of mesh and each mesh was separated in 10 meters. The data obtained were put on tables and graphs and then analyzed descriptively. The mesh used in this study made of the main basic material of wire mesh and the size was 1 cm. The length of the mesh body was 120 cm, the diameter was 35 cm, the diameter of the mouth of the mesh was 11 cm, and the diameter of the exit of the mesh was 8 cm. Main catche, the wire mesh fishing gear during the study were marble goby (Oxyeleotris marmorata) with the catch percentage was 37%, by-cath was baung fish(Mystus nemurus) 6%, giant featherback (Chitala lopis) 14%, forest snakehead (Channa lucius) 2 %, striped snakehead (Channa striata) 8%, giant gourami (Osphronemus gouramy) 5%, catfish (Pangasius polyuranodon) 7%, cyprinid (Osteochilus melanopeleurus) 2%, catfish (Clarias sp) 1%, snakeskin gourami(Tricogaster pectoralis) 13%, Indian glassy fish (Parambasis sp) 6%, fire eel (Mastacembelus erythrotaenia) 1%, and striped wallago catfish (Wallago leeri) 1%. Abstract

                                                    Abstrak Many activities in the Bakuok Lake contribute the input of organic and anorganic matter that affects the nutrient concentration and increasing the growth of phytoplankton. A research  has been conducted in June-July 2019. There were three sampling points, in the inlet, in the middle of the lake, and in the surface (0,15 m) and 2 Secchi depth (1,74 m). Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, transparency, depth, pH, dissolved oxygen, CO2, nitrate and phosphate.Results shown that there were 33 species of phytoplankton that were belonged to 7 classes, namely Chlorophyceae (15 spesies), Cyanophyceae (2 spesies), Bacillariaphyceae (5 spesies), Euglenophyceae (3 spesies), Zygnematophyceae (5 spesies), Trebouxiophyceae(2 spesies), and Cryptophyceae (1 spesies).The phytoplankton abundance of the Bakuok Lake was 89.689-100.491 cells/L. The most common type ofphytoplankton presentwasAnkistrodesmus  falcatus. Water quality parameters values were as follow, temperature was 29-310C, depth was 4-6 m, pH was 5, dissolved oxygen was 6.57-7.57 mg/L, CO2 was 9.37-13.86 mg/L, nitrate was 0.0190-0.0333 mg/L and phosphate was 0.0354-0.0575 mg/L. Based on the type and abundance of phytoplankton, it can be concluded that the Bakuok Lake can be categorized as mesotrophic. Keywords :Oxbow Lake, Water Quality, Ankistrodesmus falcatus, Mesotrophic
