Abstract

ABSTRACT        Payang is a trawler tug that has a small pocket size. This makes the payang fishing gear not selective about the size of the fish and the types of fish that are targeted by the catch. If this fishing gear is left then it will have a negative impact on the continuation of fish resources, especially where the fishing gear is operated. The purpose of this study is to calculate the composition and proportion of the main catches (main catch), bycatch and bycatch. It is hoped that this research can illustrate the amount of fish stock pressure available at the Payang fishing gear. The method used is a survey method that directly measures the fishing gear and identifies the catch of the payang fishing gear. Based on the percentage of the composition, the type of payang catches consists of 8 types. Based on the composition, the types of payang catches consist of 8 types of individuals, consisting of 2 main catches with a percentage of 25%, 5 types of bycatch with a percentage of 62.5% and 1 type of catch catch with a percentage of 12.5%. This study also found that the payang also caught fish with a size below maturity, namely yellow strait fish (Selaroides leptocepis) with a percentage of fish below the adult size caught 28%, bentong strait fish (Crumenopthaimus selar) with the percentage of fish below the adult size caught 25%, and even mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) reaches 67.25% of fish below the adult size caught. Therefore, it can be concluded that Payang fishing gear even though it is a fishery fishing gear that has enough potential to change the structure of aquatic biodiversity. Keywords: bycatch, discard, payang, fish resources, main catch.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to obtain bio surfactant-producing bacteria originating from the IPAL pond sludge of the palm oil industry at PT. Eka Dura Indonesia, Ujung Batu, Rokan Hulu, Riau Province. This research uses the survey method. Sludge samples are taken from the Contact pond by using a sample bottle, then put into a cooler, and taken to the laboratory. Next, 5 grams of sludge sample was weighed and the dissolution of the sample was carried out using BPS (Buffer Phosphate Saline) media. Furthermore, this sample was enriched with BHI (Brain Heart Infusion) media, then incubated for 24 hours. Furthermore, this sample was diluted using 0.98% NaCl to 10-6 dilution, and counted the number of bacteria growing, using Petrifilm at 10-4, 10-5 and 10-6 dilution. Then the planting and purification of bacteria were carried out using Blood Agar and MacConkey Agar. Then, it was identified using biochemical tests and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests. The results found 2 types of bacterial isolates with 2 species producing bio surfactants, Proteus mirabilis, and Enterobacter aerogenes. The DNA rank of the bacterial species that has the highest Emulsification Index, which is 100% Proteus mirabilis. Keywords: Oil contamination, Biochemical Test, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Test, Proteus mirabilis and Enterobacter aerogenes

Abstract

AbstractTrikora beach is a coral beach in the village of Teluk Bakau. The beach is often found bivalva species. however at this time information has not been obtained about the types of bivalves in the area. This research will have been carried out in March 2019. Bivalve sampling is carried out at low tide three times in each sampling area with a time interval between sampling for one week. Samples of bivalves are taken by taking all the bivalves in the substrate base, roots and stems of seagrass by picking up by hand (hand collector). As for living bivalves, immersing themselves in the substrate is taken using a small shovel. Bivalve samples were then identified. The results showed that the bivalves obtained consisted of 4 Orders, 6 Families and 10 Species. The condition of water quality in Trikora Coast waters shows that the temperature is 30.1oC, brightness 538 cm, pH 8, dissolved oxygen 6.87 mg / L and salinity 32.1 mg / L.Keywords:Pantai Trikora, sampel bivalva, sampling area

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to determine determine the lethal techniques to maintain the quality of the freshness of snakehead fish for 12 hours. This research was an experiment with a non factorial complete random design. The treatment was used a lethal fish technique consisting of piercing parts of the brain / Medulla oblongata (A1), cold temperatures (A2), and beating (A3). Observations after the fish is turned off by turning off different techniques performed at intervals of 0, 4, 8, and 12 hours on the sensory quality, chemical and microbiological. The analysis parameters were consisted of organoleptic eyes, gills, and odors), chemistry (TVB, glycogen), and total microbes. The results showed that snakehead fish with deadly technique by being stabbed, cold temperature, was produced organoleptic quality (eyes, gills, and odors) from 0-8 hours the quality can still be maintained freshness.  The Treatment of A1, on the hour to 12 organoleptic (eyes, gills, and smell) still worth resulting average value 6:00, except treatment A2, and A3, are not worthy for consumption (spoiled). TVB analysis results, during the observation of 0- 12 hours of snakehead fish with different way of death experienced an increase at 8 hours still according of quality standards, the 12th hour TVB snakehead fish value > 25 (spoiled). The lowest glycogen levels in treatment A3, at 4-12 hours instead of A2 and A3. Microbiologically, the treatment of A3 treatment has the highest total microbial value. The best lethal technique is by getting a fish stabbed in a part of the brain that can maintain the freshness of snakehead fish for 12 hours. Snakehead are turned off by plugging in the brain, organoleptic (eyes, gills and smell), chemistry (TVB and glycogen), and the total microbiological according to SNI quality standards for fresh fish. Keywords: glycogen, lethal techniques of fish, organoleptic, TPC, TVB.1)Student
