Abstract

ABSTRACTDriftgillnets are gill nets in which the way of operation is left to be washed away in the water, whether it is washed away on the surface, water column or at the bottom of the water. This study aims to calculate the number of catches of  driftgillnet during the day and nightin the District of Natal. The method used in this study is a survey method, where research data are obtained directly to the field by evaluating thedrift gillnet fishing gear operated by fishermen in Natal District. The date analysis used in this study was a t-test (Sudjana, 1982) to find the difference between day and night catches. From the result of the calculation of t-test catches during the day and night there are differences in catches, namely by  and db= 32, then obtained thit= -3,77, is outside the receiving area H0 so that the alternative hypothesis H1 is accepted, meaning that there are differences in catch based on the amount of weight (kg) during the day and night. While to find out the differences in catch based on the number of individuals (tails) namely with and db= 38, then obtainedthit= -3,333, is outside the receiving area H0 so that the alternative hypothesis H1 is accepted, meaning that there are differences in catch based on the number of individuals (tails) during the day and night. Keywords: drift gillnet, catch comparisons, catches day and night

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted on August - Sept 2018 in the Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar regency, Riau Province. Objective of study was to determine the effect of different biomass A. microphylla increasing physics parameters of water on peatsoil. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a Complete Random Design (CRD) with 1 factor, 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment used in this experiment are P0 (without biomass of Azolla michrophylla), P1 (biomass Azolla michrophylla 20 g/m2), P2 (biomass Azolla michrophylla 40 g/m2) and P3 ( biomass Azolla michrophylla 60 g/m2).The water quality parameters measured in this study are, turbidity, TSS and temperature. The results showed that biomass of Azolla microphylla had not significantly different effect on changes in physical parameters of water on peat soil ponds but for description analysis P3 different than P0,P1 and P2. The best results that can improve the physical parameters of peat water are found in the treatment of Azolla michrophylla 60 g / m2 (P3) by increasing the turbidity(12,50 NTU); TSS (150 mg/L) and temperature (26 – 29 0C). Keyword : Azolla michrophylla, Physics parameters, Peat soil

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the bioflock system intensive aquaculture, the waste was removed everyday. The waste contain high concentration of nitrate and phosphate.  Effort in reducing those organic matters can be done by usingChlorella sp.   A study aims to determine the effectiveness of Chlorella sp. in decreasing nitrate and phosphate concentration in thewaste was conducted in August 2019. There was a CRD method with 4 treatments, namely the addition of 0 sel/ml (control); 333sel/ml (P1); 3.330sel/ml (P2); 33.300sel/ml (P3) and 333.000sel/ml (P4) of Chlorella sp. in 4 liters of wate water. Nitrate and phosphate concentration in the water were checked in the 1st, 4th and 7th days. Results shown that the highest nitrate increased was in the P1 at the 7th day (138%), while that of the phosphate lost was in the P4 at the 7th day (98%). Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that  Chlorellasp. was not able todecreasenitrate concentration, while of the phosphate was able to decrease in the waste water originated from biofloc system intensive aquacultre. Keywords:Nitrate, phosphate, Chlorellasp.bioflock, aquaculture waste.

Abstract

AbstractTofu liquid waste is rich in TSS and COD so it needs to be treated before being discharged into the environment. This study aims to reduce TSS and COD in tofu wastewater using biofilter added to EM4, which was conducted in May-July 2019. The design of this experiment uses 3 kontrols, 3 treatments and 3 replications with consisting of the addition of 17 ml, 20 ml and 23 ml EM4. The treatments were all placed in anaerobic and aerobic drums. Then tofu liquid waste that is biofilter using EM4 is tested to determine the TSS and COD concentrations. The processed waste is then used to raise Carp (CyprinusCarpio) as a test fish. The results of this study indicate that after tofu wastewater is processed using biofilter added EM4, it turns out that the concentration of TSS in water is reduced at P2 (20 ml) which is 150 mg / L and decreases by 97.61%, and the COD concentration is reduced at P2 (20 ml ) ie 106.33 mg / L and a decrease of 98.89%. Goldfish (CyprinusCarpio) in the use of tofu liquid waste that has been processed to get percentage of a livelihood of 93.33% in P2U1. It can be concluded that granting EM4 in Biofilters is able to reduce TSS and COD in the liquid waste industry know and already meet the requirements of raw water wastewater according to regulation Minister of Environment No 5 year 2014.Keyword : Tofu Liquid Waste Effective microorganism 4, Cyprinus Carpio

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Lubuk Siam oxbow lake and Kampar Kanan Rivers have different ecosystem characteristics and it may affects the growth pattern of fish living in those river. The growth of the fish, however, can be mirrored in the growth patterns in the otolith.  A research aims to understand the pattern of otolith growth rings in the  P.grootii captured from both areas was conducted in July to August 2019. Sampling was done 4 times/ month. Otoliths were saved,  and the growth ring pattern was observed using a binocular microscope. Results shown that the otolith of fish from the Lubuk Siam lake was 3-4.9 mm length and   0.0132-0.0043 mg weight,  while that of the fish from the Kampar Kanan River was 2- 4.3 mm length  and 0.0125-0.030 mg weight. The  fish from the lake   was bigger than fish in the river. However, the fish from the river tend to have more dark rings in the otolith and have heavier otolith than  that of the lake’s fish.  These data indicate that the fish from the river may grew up slowly and face more growth related problem than the fish from the lake. Keywords: Dark Ring, Otolith, Growth Pattern, Sagita, Pristolepis grootii
