Abstract

This research was conducted from April-Mei 2013 in the Waters around the Estuary Sei Undan, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Riau Province. The aim of this research is to understand the distribution and abundance of epiphytic diatom presenting on the trunk of the Avicennia sp which is related to water quality factor. Survey method was applied on this research where data were obtained by direct observation in the field. The samples of epiphytic diatom were analyzed in the Laboratory of Marine Biology. Water quality parameters were measured in situ.Six species of epiphytic diatom were found on the trunk. The abundance of epiphytic diatom on the trunk ranged from 0 to 9.59 ind/cm2. Beside that, water quality parameters were in the sufficient range for marine epiphytic diatom.Keywords: epiphytic, diatom, avicennia sp, Sei Undan

Abstract

This research was conducted of March 2013 in the Tanjung Putus Oxbowthat is located in the Buluh China Village. This research aims to understand thevertical profil chlorophyl-a.Chlorophyl-a samples were collected from 3 stations. In each stations,there are 2 sampling sites, in the surface and 2,5 depth. Sampling was done threetimes, once a week. Result shown that the chlorophyl-a content ranged from 8,97-20,1 g/l. Water quality parameters values were: depth : 89,0–92,3 cm;temperature: 30 –31 oC; transparency: 141–301,7 cm; pH: 5; DO: 3,67 – 6,17mg/l; CO2: 7,76–15,7 mg/l; phosphate: 0,04– 0,13 mg/l and nitrate: 0,02 – 0,100mg/l. Chlorophyl-a was higher in the surface tahan of secchi area. The resultshowed that Tanjung Putus Lake water is enough productive and be support theorganism aquatic.Key words : Chlorophyl-a, the vertical profiles, Tanjung Putus Oxbow

Abstract

The research was conducted in February-April 2013. Who caught 56 fish tail with a range of 113-185 mm in total length and weighing 28-82 grams of Canal Village Pomegranate and 32 tail with a total length range of 120 - 175mm and weighing 24-71 grams of Canal Village West Tangkerang. There are 13 characters that will be calculated meristik and 25 morphometric characters that will be measured in this study. The results of calculations of the Canal Village meristik Pomegranates: D.VI-V. 9-10-40, p.9-16, A.VI-XI.30-40, C.16-21 and the Village of Canal West Tangkerang XII.9-DV-10, p.8-15, AX-XIII .31-38, C.10-19. Average number of scales on the fish scales Sepat siam front dorsal fin 23-28, 32-41 scales in the lateral linea, linea scales above lateral 11-14, scales below the linea lateralis 50-63, 50-66 scales around the body and 30-38 scales on the tail shaft. There is a pattern 4kelompok proportion Sepat siam fish morphometric characters of Channel 4 Pomegranate Village of Canal Village West Tangkerang pattern groups the proportion of fish Sepat siam morphometric characters of Canal Village Pomegranate Sepat siam fish growth patterns in Pomegranate Channel and Canal West Tangkerang the negative allometric (Canal Village Tangkerang West, male and female b = 0.107 b = 0.151) and at Canal Village Pomegranate (male, female b = 0.096 and b = 0.061). Abstract

A study on the water quality Bandar Kayangan Lembah Sari lake pekanbaru city was conducted from April 2013 to Juli 2013. This research aims to quality of water in the bandar kayangan lembah sari lake be Reviewed from Characteristics Physics-Chemical and Coefficient Saphrobic. There were three stations with 3. Samples were taken 3 times, once a week and they were analyzed in the Ecological Environment Water Management Laboratory Faculty, Riau University.Parameters measured were water temperature, turbidity, brightness, current speed, total suspended solid, ammonia, pH, DO, BOD5, nitrate, phosphate, and plankton. Results shown that there were 7 classes present, namely Cyanophyceae (3 genus), Chlorophyceae (10 genus), Bacillariophyceae (4 genus), Dinophyceae (1 genus), Euglenophyceae (2 genus), Rotifer (3 genus) and Ciliate (1 genus). Water quality parameters are as follows: temperature: 29-30 0C, turbidity: 12,6-14,3 NTU, brightness current speed : 2,1-2,8 cm/s, total suspended solid: 22-40 mg/l, ammonia: 0,05-0,20 mg/l, pH : 5-6, DO : 2,4-6,5 mg/l, BOD5 : 3-3,6 mg/l, nitrate: 0,02-0,04 mg/l and phosphate 0,014-0,16 mg/l. be Reviewed from Characteristics Physics-Chemical and Coefficient Saphrobic in the Bandar Kayangan Lembah Sari Lake in a state of being tainted by bad and coefficient saphrobic in ranged from (β – meso/oligosaphrobic phase) to - (α/β – mesosaphrobic phase).Keywords : Bandar Kayangan Lake, Water Quality, plankton’s Saphrobic Coefficent1) Student of the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University2) Lecturers of the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau UniversityI. Abstract

The research was conducted in April to June In Danau Baru, Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu Sub-district, District of Kampar, Riau. A Fisheries and Aquatic Biology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Sciene Faculty University of Riau. The purpose of this study is to identify, locate varieties and survey methods by applying 3 sampling stations for fish collection. Identify samples yielded 39 varieties, including the type of the order of 5, 17 genus and 28 familyes. Abstract

A series survey activity was conducted on April-Mei 2013 at the fishing port Bungus,Padang city West Sumatera province. Purpose of this study is to know efficiency level of longliner fishing catches, which has been landed in fishing port and its factor influenced. The resultshow that the efficiency level of fishing catches landing time was 56.98-72.73%, with uploadingefficiency time was 64,65% in average. There is seven free variable influence on the timeefficiency of fishing landing, with the value r=0,836 and R2=83,6%. So the diversity ofindependent variable gives the contribution to the diversity assess of time efficiency as 83,6%.Keyword : Fishing port, long line, mooring time, time efficiency, tuna (thunnus sp)

Abstract

A series survey activity was carried out on March 23th to April 3rd, 2013 at fishingport in Tiku village. Purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation ofmanagement theory at fishing port. The result shows that the management theory in fishingport has not been well conducted. This conditions was caused less of personal staff (4persons), as well as the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) was not applied and norulesgoverning thearrivalanddeparture of the fishing boat. Abstract

This research was meant to find out variability temperature and klorofil-a the surfaceeither of sea in spatial or temporal in Malacca strait waters in the Eastern (June - August)during the cycle of recording (2009 - 2012). Methods used is desk analysis is analyzed dataobtained without doing validation and verification in the field. The data in described based ontheories. A pattern of distribution spl very closely relation to patterns of wind that blows in anarea. To scatter spl in malacca strait waters also affected by oscillations climatology. Saji, etal ( 2003 ) in Lubis ( 2012 ) presented the sea surface temperatures in the tropics varying inspatial and temporal. The maximum value temperature the average sea level in malacca straitwaters in the eastern 2009-2012 year reaching 35 oc network. Abstract

Purpose of this study is to test effectiveness of PVC and conventional trap to catch C. Batrachus as main fishing target. C. Batrachus behavior on the fishing capture process by PVC and conventional trap were observed in the tank 9 x 1 x 1.5 m in dimension and under video camera (JVC, HDD Evero 35 X optical zoom) recording. The result show that, the PVC trap was most effective to catch, which the total fishing catches were 21 individuals. The average of duration time was spent between 1.53 – 183.15 minutes for each individual to enter in to PVC trap during observation. While, the conventional trap was caught 8 individuals, which was reqiured time between 3.23 – 424.12 minutes. The capture process of C. Batrachus was varied, they were surrounded in front of tunnel of the trap before go toinside it as well as another individual directly go to inside the trap. The effectiveness of capture process was influenced by short time the C. Batrachus enter to the trap, which C. Batrachus was required times 1.53 minutes each individuals in average for PVC trap and 3.23 minutes for conventional trap. The C. Abstract

The research was conducted in April 2013 at the Shipyard that runs Tiku Tanjung MutiaraAgam District of West Sumatra Province. This study uses a survey method that aims to determinethe cause of the damage and engineering maintenance / repair on Trolling Fishing boats inDockyard that runs Tiku.The results showed that the damage to the vessel's fishing trolling in Dockyard that runsTiku caused by vermin, the effects of temperature and weather. Repair techniques performed inGalngan ship that runs Tiku is simple and traditional, which is still based on the expertise andexperience of the workers ship.
