Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of noni leaf silage on food efficiency and growth of kissing gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) using the experimental method, completelly randomized design with one factor, five treatments and three replication which had different level comparison of soy bean meal and noni leaf silaged meal, spesifically P1 (100%TK : 0%TSDM), P2 (90% TK : 10%TSDM), P3 (80% TK : 20%TSDM), P4 (70% TK : 30%TSDM), dan P5 (60% TK : 40%TSDM). The result indicated that feed with addition noni leaf silage meal on 10, 20, 30, and 40% were significant effect (P<0.05) on feed effiency, and very significant effect (P<0,01) on protein retention and average specific growth. The best treatments is obtained on P5 addition noni leaf silage as much as 40% with average feed efficiency of 26.57%, protein retention of 25.27%, spesific growth rate 2.32%/day, feed digestived of 72,83% and survival rate of 97%. Abstract

The research was conducted in June 2015 by collecting samples from Sungai Enam and Dompak coastal waters of Bintan Island of Riau Islands Province. The study used a survey method. The samples were collected from the intertidal area. The results showed that Pb content was found to be highest in large size of snails in Sungai Enam (4.6143 μg/g), the highest Cu content was found in medium size of snails in Dompak waters (4.7103 μg/g), and the highest Zn metal content was recorded in medium size of snails in Dompak waters (20.6790 μg/g). The results of this study also showed that MPI values obtained from Sungai Enam waters were 5.273 and for Dompak waters was 6.122. PTWI derived from the waters of Sungai Enam for Pb was equal to 1.6984 mg/kg of body weight per week. Cu amounted to 0.2887 mg/kg of body weight per week, whilst Zn amounted to 0.1870 mg/kg of body weight per week. PTWI derived from Dompak waters for Pb was 1.7581 mg/kg of body weight per week, Cu amounted to 0.2626 mg/kg of body weight per week whilst Zn amounted to 0.1269 mg/kg of body weight per weekKey Words : Heavy metal, gonggong snail (Strombus canarium), Bintan Island

Abstract

This research was conducted in June 2015 with the aim was to knowing the concentration of heavy metals of Pb, Cu and Zn accumulated in the albumen and yolk of olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) from Pariaman town beach, West Sumatra Province. The method used was a survey conducted on 3 beaches. The results showed that the average metal Pb in albumen (2.7644 μg/g) was greater than the metal Cu (2.0970 μg/g) and smaller than the metal Zn (10.4924 μg/g). While metal Pb in yolk (6.8008 μg/g) was smaller than the metal Cu (7.0357 μg/g) and metal Zn (34.1479 μg/g). The PTWI calculation value (the Provisional Torelable Weekly Intake) based on FAO/WHO standard for an adult weighing of 70 kg told that the eggs were still reasonably consumtable as long as it did not exceed the limit of 3.2932 kg/week for Pb, 482.8780 kg/week for Cu and 197.5793 kg/week for Zn. However, consumsing turtle eggs continuously can harm the body’s health and threaten the sustainability of turtles in the wild. Abstract

The study was conducted in May-June 2015 in Berhala Island and its surrounding waters. The aim of this study was to know the marine ecotourism potential in Berhala Island as marine ecotourism destination in the future. The method used in this study was a survey method. The data observed consist of exploration results and inventory attractions, respondents of tourist representation and in situ measurement of water quality parameters. Berhala Island had huge potential of marine ecotourism and has a tremendous opportunity to be developed as a marine ecotourism region. It was shown on the suitability of marine ecotourism development, both assessed based on the criteria of supporting tour, SWOT analysis, calculation the value of WTA and WTP to the calculation of potential economic value . The potential economic value of marine tourism in Berhala Island is Rp. 52,159,000 (in the agenda of the annual holiday). This value was sufficient with still lack of facilities in the Berhala Island and potentially will grow if there are a implementation of the construction and development in Berhala Island region in the future.Key Word: Potential, Marine Ecotourism, Berhala Island

Abstract

The research was conducted on 17 April – 07 may 2015 in PPS Belawan, provence North Sumatera. The purpose of this study was to find the relationshipbetween the fishing trip , the fleet size , engine size and age of the machine to theamount of fuel that will be taken when operating fishing vessels. The method usedis a survey method . A total of 27 units of fishing boats fishing (hand and line)sampled the same engine brand Mitsubishi . To see the relationship fishing trip ,the fleet size , engine size and age of the machine to the amount of fuel carriedaboard the fishing rod back and forth (hand and line) used multiple linear statistics. Results of this study showed that the relationship of the amount of fuel ( Y ) isbrought to the size of the fleet ( X1 ) , the size of the engine ( X2 ) , and the life ofthe engine ( X3 ) is Y = 68.71 to 6.43 ( X1 ) +1.4 ( X2 ) -1.22 ( X3 ) . theinfluence of the independent variable on the dependent variable was 18.2 %Keywords: Fishing Trip, Machine, boats fishing

Abstract

This research was conducted in 17-31 March 2015 in the ocean fishing portBelawan. This research aims to identify the service system unloading fishing botsas well as facilities and equipment to support the smooth operation of loading andunloading of vessel fishing in the ocean fishing port Belawan. The study wasconducted using a survey method. To solve the problem of the unloading serves inthe ocean fishing port Belawan was divided into two stages. First stage was toevaluate the existing capasity of an unloading port. Second stage was to find outof the optimum number of server that should be provided this time and to forcastof the server need in the next five year or in 2018. Data were quantitativelyanalysed by using queuing model and then combined with the total of minimumcost to find out the optimum number of server. The results showed that theoptimum number of the server for an average of ship arrival from january todecember 2014 was 10 servers, while in the lowest and peak season about 3 and15 servers were needed. Furthermore, the forecasting of ship arrival number in2018 showed that there would be about 9.244 ships arriving at PPS Belawan andthe arrival rate of ship per day was 25,33 so it would be about 12 servers.Kata kunci: Optimize, Unloading, Queuing, Server

Abstract

The research was conducted on 10 days in Maninjau Lake waters,West Sumatera Province. The purpose of research is to know the influence of light intensity on rinuak fishes. The method used in the research is the experimental fishing method. The research was conducted at night and the result that there is very noticeable to the influence of different light intensity to catches of rinuak fish. From three lamp power used (35,45 and 55 watt) it was proved the lamp with 45 watt power bring the lightest catches at much as 58 % of total catches, followed by 55 and 35 watts lamp power. The total catches is 98 kg. Fro annova test bring P value < 0,01 which mean the lamp power light bring significant effect on catches of rinuak.Keyword : Rinuak Fish, Light Intensity, 45 watt

This study conducted in May 2015 in the Village Teluk Air, District ofKarimun, Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency , Riau Island Provincial. The aim ofthis study was to determine the effect of shortening of the catches of gill netfishing gear. It is known from research that the shortening gill nets with 20% ofthe catch as much as 95,5 kg, which comprised 246 fishs. By way of fishcaught most dominant snagged. On gill net fishing gear that uses 30%shortening overall number of catches as much as 82 kg, comprising 186 fishs.By way of the most dominant fish caught in etangled. Results of t-test at 95%confidance level showed no effect of shortening of the catches in gill netfishing gear.Key word: Gill net fishing gear, Shortening
