Abstract

The use of peat water is often used as concrete mixing water in areas difficult to obtain clean water. Peat water containing a low pH is not recommended as concrete mixing water because it can reduce the quality of concrete. Mineral materials such as Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) used in the concrete mix to increase the density and strength of the resulting. This study aims to assess the compressive strength and physical properties such as porosity and water sorptivity concrete using peat as concrete mixing water. Type of cement used in the concrete mixture is OPC, PCC, and OPC POFA 10%. Peat water for the research came from Rimbo Panjang, Kampar and POFA derived from PKS GAS, Kandis. Research results show that the peat water can still be used to mix concrete is still above the minimum strength of 90% of the normal compressive strength.Keywords: OPC, PCC, palm oil fuel ash(POFA), peat water

Abstract

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is a process of identifying damage by Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE). The flexible and lightweight membrane properties cause testing methods that require contact between the sensor and the specimen can not be performed. The method can be done by non-contact method. In this study a non-contact method was proposed to monitor the membrane by utilizing the sound signal as an excitation. This method has the advantage because it is not costly to set-up testing. Recorded data in the form of time domain is transformed into a frequency domain using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) method. With the domain data frequency response and domain data excitation frequency can be processed into data FRF (Frequency Response Function). FRF in matrix form is used to estimate the mode shape. The first natural frequency of the mode shape is transformed using a 2D-CWT wavelet to detect the location of the damage. The study was performed on membranes under normal and damaged conditions. The research was done by experiment. The results of the research show that the proposed method can detect the location of the damage properly and accurately.Keywords: SHM, Membrane, Signal Sound, FFT, FRF, Mode Shape

Abstract

West Sumatra is one of the Province in Sumatra Island and Padang as capital City.West Sumatra has lots of potencies such as natural resources and human resources that show highest culture value and local wisdom. Nowaday, era globalization gives impact to degradation of social morality. Then it have decreased care and enthusiasm about local art and culture. Therefore, aim of this research to design West Sumatra Culture Center that include laboratory and display of art culture. Padang is the right choice for the site of culture center because good potency and strategic location, historic value, and culture haritage city. Minangkabau Culture Center is designed by emphasis Neo Vernacular architecture that focuses on shape of mass. Design strategy such as site analycis, room programming, zoning, shape of mass, landscape, interior, and facade. The result of this research is to produce a design of Minangkabau Culture Center that represents minangkabau lokal wisdom itself, especially Rumah Gadang in modern movement.Key words; Culture Center, Minangkabau, Neo Vernacular, Padang.

Abstract

In Kasang Kulim zoo there are so many animals less of health attention. The cause of this problem is because there is no Animal Hospital Facilities (AHF) in this zoo. This is the reason why Animal Hospital is needed to fulfill health requirements in this zoo. The purposes of this research are to identify the supporting facilities needed, describing the characteristics of tropical architecture into the design of Animal Hospital, and formulating the concept into the design of Animal Hospital in Kasang Kulim Zoo. The methods of presenting the Animal Hospital design are through concept, zoning, mass order, outdoor planning, mass formation, indoor planning, structure, utilitiy, building facade, and design result. The research approach is applying the principle of tropical architecture. The tropical architecture principles applied are responsive to the environment and combined with the design concept, Garden Hospital. In this design, the building is divided into two building. The first is Animal Hospital building which is intended for pets, and second one is Animal Health Center which is intended for animals in Kasang Kulim Zoo. The combination between the concept and theme will be the characteristic from this design, that is every existed room will get natural lighting and air sirculation.Keywords: Animal Hospital, Tropical Architecture, Garden Hospital.

Abstract

Microstrip antenna as a communication device has small dimension with good receiving signal ability, this microstrip antenna is a technology that can be used on a wireless network application with high rate data speed. Microstrip antenna is very suitable for long term evolution applications. This microstrip antennas are small, designed in such a way that can be used daily without causing bad image effects for user appereance. The antenna is designed by using CST STUDIO SUITE software, the designed result are : frequ…ency 2.3 GHz with return loss ≤ -10 dB, and VSWR ≤ 2.Keyword : microstrip antenna, long term evolution for handset, return loss and VSWR.

Abstract

Limitations possessed by compos in the form of bulk are in the process of spreading easily carried by the wind and easily drift when carried by the water, and requires a large space during storage, and difficult in the process of distribution. Therefore it is necessary to conduct a study that examines the physical quality of a solid organic fertilizer one of them is by making Granul Organic Fertilizer (POG). This study aims to observe the effect of adhesive concentration on physical quality (POG) produced. The methodology used in this research is variation of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% clay adhesive by calculating the value of bulk density, percentage of granule size (2-5 mm), durability value, water absorption value, time dispersion. Abstract

Concrete is the main ingredient in the construction world, because the concrete is easy to work and economical in terms of cost, but the concrete is considered to have low tensile strength compared with the compressive strength, so the need for effort in improving the mechanical properties of the concrete mixing fiber in concrete mixture is wrong One attempt to improve the mechanical properties of concrete one of them by using fiber wire bedrators formed into "U" with a total length of 9 cm. The specimen consists of a cylindrical specimen with a diameter of 150 mm and a height of 300 mm and a beam with a length of 600 mm, a width of 150 mm, and a height of 150 mm. The fiber length used is 9 cm with 0.0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% 1.0% of the fiber mass variation from the aggregate fraction. Non-fiber concrete is made for comparison. The method of mixing fiber into the concrete mixture is randomly after the concrete is evenly mixed. The results showed compressive strength, splitng tensile strength and maximum bending strength at 0.5% fiber variation. According to the results of the study, the addition of wire fiber to concrete mixture can improve the mechanical properties of concrete and in the optimal fiber variation can be at 0.5%.Keywords : fiber concrete, fiber wire bedrators, compressive strenght, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength

Abstract

This study is aimed to design and analyze bidirectional converter three phase by using method SPWM on electric bike. This study discusses the three-phase inverter with Sine Pulse WidthModulation (SPWM) method as a three-phase induction motor drive and also the rectifier which has function to convert the AC voltage of the source of three-phase AC into DC voltage that ismodeled by using Matlab / Simulink. The purpose of this study is to get the design of the threephase inverter SPWM as a three-phase induction motor drive 500 W, 30 V, and 50 Hz. Theinverter design using battery voltage 48 V. Besides that to getting rectifier mode design that is aimed to fill a 48 Volt DC battery that is a driving source an induction machine when that isnot driven from PLN. The results of the analysis inverter mode performed on the motor no-load conditions (zero load). Through simulation with Matlab software is then obtained curve ofsinusoidal voltage box 48 Volt, current 2,5 Ampere, and speed of the motor by SPWM controlled system. Then, the simulation results in rectifier mode is done with Matlab software value obtained 52.03 Volt battery charging voltage and battery charging current is 7.977 Amperes.Keyword : Three Phase Inverter, Sine Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM), Three Phase Induction Motor, Matlab/ Simulink, Electric bike, Rectifier.

Abstract

The surface roughness of a machining process is a very important factor in the field of production that is one of the turn-milling process. Turn-milling is a combined machining process of turning and milling with complete tools (cutting) where workpieces and tools rotate together. The turn-milling process can generally be categorized in orthogonal turn-milling, tangential turn-milling and co-axial turn-milling methods. The resulting surface quality is also affected by the parameters of the machining process in the form of rotation of the workpiece and the rotation of the tool. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of parameters on surface roughness and optimal parameter to surface roughness by doing tangential process of turn-milling. By varying the parameter variables, the surface roughness generated in this study is influenced by the rotation of the workpiece and the rotation of the tool. The higher the tool rotation the lower the surface roughness. Conversely, the higher the rotation of the workpiece the higher the surface roughness. The optimal parameter is a rotation tool of 25000 rpm with a rotation of 630 rpm objects found in the roughness class N7 with a roughness value of 1.321 μm where the roughness value is lower among other N7 roughness classes.Keywords : Turn-milling, Tangential Turn-milling, Rotation, Roughness.

Abstract

Villa Melati Permai I has equipped by FTTH (Fiber to the Home) network facility, later on the villa melati Permai I has been extended into villa melati permai II, in this villa melati permai II has not been equipped by FTTH facility. This paper, proposes to design villa melati permai II FTTH network according to parameter standard of Villa Melati Permai I equipment. The analysis parameters containing Link Power Budget, Rise Time Budget and BER for permormance system that simulated by OptySystem. From the calculations of link power budget, the total attenuation result is 21,35 dB for downstream and 22,13 dB for upstream. The loss of receiver result is -19,85 dBm for downstream and -20,63 dBm for upstream. For system performance parameters are generated from the simulation BER OptiSystem, BER values obtained 1,64
