Abstract

In order to fulfil the need for higher water supply, water from the swamp may be used as an alternative. If one is to use the usual clean water centrifugal pump to operate in swampy condition, problem such as decreased in the pump head maybe encountered. This study aims to explore the modifications needed to counter the mentioned problem. Pumps with number of blades from 7 to 10 are tested to obtain optimum operating conditions. Peat water pump design is used in the modelling using Computational Fluid Dynamics technique. The results show that the head deviation difference between CFD and theoretical calculations is -5.85 % for clean water and 0.4% for peat water. For best operating conditions, the number of blade that generates the best result is 10 with head and efficiency of 70.23 m and 0.63 respectively.Keywords: Peat Water, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Centrifugal Pump, Impeller, Volute

Abstract

Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport Pekanbaru serve domestic and international flights, this airport is also a home base for Squadron 16 and Squadron 12 Roesmin Nurjadin air base. The noise level is affected by flight activity in the airport. The purpose of this research is to determine the intensity of noise at the airport and the surrounding residential area, duration of noise exposure, and mapping of noise spread pattern. Noise measurement method based on KepMenLH No 48 of 1996, and the device used is Sound Level Meter (SLM). Measurement of sound pressure level (Lp) lasted 1 day. Based on the results of data processing of the 5 points of measurement, results showed the level of noise in the airport area is 77.72 to 91.82 dBA . Noise control can be performed by making of noise barriers and using noise-absorbing materials in the construction of houses.Keyword : noise, airport, sultansyarifkasimII

Abstract

The world is faced a crisis on food availability for consumption, it is due to erratic climate condition, the lack of agricultural land, and many farmers choose to plant crops because it is moreprofitable than farming in paddy fields. Rice Cultivation Education Center is a place for teaching, training, research, and recreation on agricultural science, it is about planting and cultivating ricein paddy fields to avoid world food crisis, including in Indonesia. The design uses a method of transformation of concepts and characteristics of tropical architecture that utilizes the deficiency ofthe tropical climate and making it as an excess that can support the function of the building and therefore it contributes to mass formation, mass orientation, the order of landscape, and circulationpatterns inside and outside of the site. The concept of ‘Ruang-Ruang Cahaya’ (spaces of the light) is applied to the design of the building to take advantage of sunlight as energy saving and making it as aesthetic when the light enter the room through the openings. It is applied to the function ofdifferent rooms, an is focused on circulation which connect each room inside the building. The necessity of designing The Rice Cultivation Education Center with Tropical Architecture approachmay provide benefits to the surrounding environment and the activities in the building.Keyword: Rice Cultivation Education Center, Natural Lighting, Tropical Architecture

Abstract

Pekanbaru City which is now a metropolis with a population of more than one million also will require a wide range of facilities that can support the ease and comfort and security for residents and visitors who come to town there and this, that's the reason for the construction of residential vertically. In the design of the apartment, design approach emphasizes the aspects of green architecture with the goal of keeping buildings designed to minimize the adverse effects of the energy crisis, the adverse effects on the environment, natural, or user of the apartment itself. However, to support this design is more in the concept captured the "movement", the concept is applied to the movement in the form of building and landscape. Abstract

Riau has a vision as Malay culture center in southest asia 2025 will not materialize without community for conserve and develop Riau Malay culture. One of conserve Riau Malay culture is developing of heritage such as culinary and handicraft. This become a reason to develop foodcourt and handicraft about Riau Malay culture. This place will sell all culinary and handicraft about Riau Malay culture. this place also for a picnic and gathering with friend and family while enjoying playpark. In the design, use tropical architecture like a responsive to solar radiation and rainful, cros ventilation, vegetation and roof forms. characteristic of this place use concept recreation. its like a view, color, nature, movement and activity people. it has five volumes, that is a handicraft fasilities, culinary facilities and main fasilities. Abstract

Connoisseurs of artwork of Pekanbaru is out a lot. It could be seen from the enthusiasm that people show in many artwork activities, such as exhibitions that were usually being held in malls and hotels. However, art connoisseurs have to move from places to places to enjoy the art itself. This phenomenon shows that there is a lack of resources to satisfy people needs in facilitating these artwork. Therefore, a design of Fine Art Gallery wouldoffer its benefit to appease art connoisseurs in Pekanbaru. According to Frank Lloyd Wright, Organik Architecture is a philosophy that emphasize the harmonious relation between human habitation and nature, and its well integrated of unity, harmony, and simplicity. A Compatibility of art is applied as concept, harmony is displayed and a set of categorized artactivities is established in the design of Gallery. Abstract

Setanau Island is one island that is unsettled and located at Pulau Tiga Subdistrict, Natuna regency. Setanau Island has the potential to be visited by tourists, both local and foreign tourists. Therefore is needed accommodation tourist activity on the island of Setanau. The concept of Setanau Island Resort was designed by "Pearl", which is implementation form Natuna regency vision as a district that has a natural wealth worth selling. Pearl concept is applied through a transformation by analogy approach forms the pearl applied in the design of landscape patterns resort area. Designing Setanau Island resort also adopts the principle of Island Coastal Architecture Setanau. The principle was applied to the mass of the building in terms of both use of materials, orientation of buildings and structures. Abstract

Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) and Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) is a security protocol on the VPN is used to improve the security of an Internet network. Comparison of the use of these protocols may affect network performance or Quality of Services (QoS). The QoS measurement parameters measured by delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss. Network modeling scenarios using the bus topology model. Results of this study was to compare the performance of each protocol which is VPN IPSec and L2TP by measuring the QoS performance without using the protocol as a benchmark to compare their effects on QoS by using the tunneling protocol.Keywords : Virtual Private Network, IPSec, L2TP, Quality of Services

Abstract

Sumatra island has 3 interconnecting transmission lines of 150 kV are in the North Sumatra, Sumatra central and southern Sumatra. Teluk Lembu substation is a substation that is connected to the 150 kV Interconnection System Central Sumatra.Blackout is a disruption of the 150 kV transmission system which caused a total blackout. In order to overcome such interference, when the blackout substation Teluk Lembu can secede from the 150 kV interconnection system (Island Operation). Where Power-generator which is connected to the Teluk Lembu substation only supply power to Teluk Lembu substations.Keywords : Teluk Lembu Power plant, Teluk Lembu substation, Blackout, Island Operation.
