Abstract

The use of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) is widely installed at a specific tilted angle. This condition causes the solar PV panel will not get optimum solar radiation from the sun. Therefore, to overcome this situation, a solar panel based sun tracker was designed and installed. The sun tracker was using two LDR sensors to detect the position of the sun. An ardunio microcontroller was employed as controller system to inquiry the motor servo, in order to drive solar panel toward the sun location. Four different titled angles of solar panel such as 0 °, 15 °, 30 ° and 45 ° were compared with sun tracker based solar panel to obtain the energy gaining. It was found that the sun tracker based solar panel gave a significant energy boost. The energy gaining compare with 0 °, 15 °, 30 ° and 45 ° was 12%, 16%, 20% and 22%, respectively. From the real condition test, it can be concluded that there is a high potential of energy gaining when solar panel is equipped with sun tracker.Keywords: Arduino, Data Logger Shield, LDR, Servo Motor, Solar Photovoltaic

Abstract

The implementation of contraction Project is often delay schedule and there has cost overrun. This paper machine project has a set time and cost limit. When the time and the cost have been exhausted but there hasn’t finished the jobs. Therefore, the cost overrun analysis and factor causing are needed to analysis. The analysis used the conceptual method of the result value and interview, which supported by primary and secondary data. Primary data gotten by interview and documentation. Meanwhile, secondary data gotten by written materials as project data. The research result on august showed that the value of variance schedule (SV) is late -0.70%, the variance cost (CV) is reach -0,32%, the variance budged (BV) is 3,19%, schedule Performed Index (SPI) is late 0,96 and cost performed index (CPI) 0,83.The calculation of Estimated At Complication (EAC) is Rp. 59.511.620.988. The cost overrun presentation to the end of the project is 3.5% or Rp. 2.287.285.802 to the contract value. The caused cost overrun are improper cost estimates, incomplete information project, difficulty implementation schedule, the changes of implementation project and weather factor.Keywords: Cost overrun, schedule variants.

Abstract

The Study of the solar absorber with cobalt oxide as the heat absorbing surfaces has been conducted. A dip-coating technique has been used to deposit cobalt oxide coatings on aluminum substrates. A solution of cobalt oxide was prepared in a bath by first mixing Co(NO3)2.6H2O, ethanol and a small amount of propionic acid. The sol prekursor was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. Pieces of aluminum with size 2x4x0.5cm were cleaned using a solution of phosphoric acid 10% at temperature 50oC for 10 minutes. The coating was synthesized by varying molar percursors 0.1M; 0.2M; 0.3M and the number of dipping-drying cycles 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x and 10x, then annealed at temperature 550 oC for 1 hour. The solar absorptance and emittance were parameters to characterize the performance of the absorber. In practical terms, this generally corresponded to absorbing short wavelengths up to a certain cut-off wavelength (solar spectrum, UV-VIS-NIR), and a low thermal emittance in the IR wavelength region. Consequently, this research attained high performance solar selective absorber of which solar absorptance was 80,14% and emittance was 7,65% on 4 cylcles. Values of selectivity, α/ɛ = 10,48 were obtained. XRD test showed the crystal structure of cobalt oxide, SEM test showed the surface structure of the coating was relatively homogenous and adhesion test showed the adhesion between the coating and the substrate can be categorized as very strong (5B scale ASTM D 3359).Keyword : coating, solar selective absorber, sol-gel dip-coating

Abstract

Nowdays traffic jam oftenoccurs at the crossroad of traffic light in Pekanbaru. It is caused by the increasing number of two-wheeled vehicles, four-wheeled vehicles, or more. Besides at the traffic light used are also still active based on the length of time that has been set by the system.it makes more of the long quene on that road, because the time needed for green lamp to be active at every intersection is same. Therefore, it is needed a controlling of traffic lights between can detect any traffic jam. This research makes anapplications of Smart Light Traffic(STL) control system between Tengku Bey street – Kaharudin Nasution street Pekanbaru, crowded uses LD Microsoftware. STL controllingsystem controls the functional length green lamp based on crowded a reading of the traffic light on the thirdcrossroads by proximity sensors. Traffic light active sequence is equal to clockwise traffic light will be actively started with red lamp, followed green lamp and yellow. For normal condition of STL, green lamp actives 20s, yellow lamp3s, and red lamp actives 49s.in peak condition of STL, green lamp actives longer 5s (be 25s), yellow lamp actives still 3s, and red lamp actives 59s. Abstract

The need for clean water in Kecamatan Kandis increases with population growth. The community of kecamatan kandis utilizes water source from rain water and Samsam River water. The water obtained will be transmitted to the IPA to be processed into clean water. The minimum plunge of Samsam River was obtained at 217.89 liters / sec. The net water demand after 20 years is 127 liters / sec. In this research, the plan of raw water transmission pipeline system is divided into two networks that will be simulated with EPANET program. Old network along 14674.54 meters and new network along 33708,86 meters by using HDPE pipe. The head and debit values obtained from the simulated results determine which pump to use. This pump is a type of Grundfos type 2 pole pump. This transmission network simulation is expected to be a guide in PDAM planning in Kecamatan Kandis.Keyword: Transmission, clean water, EPANET, HDPE,PDAM.

Abstract

Magnetite is a material that can be used in a drug delivery aplication. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of temperature and stirring rate on the magnetite crystal size and determine the kinetic equation of magnetite synthesis with Avrami model approach. The magnetite was synthesized using coprecipitation method by reacting FeCl3 and FeCl2 in 2:1 mole ratio and NH4OH 10% at temperature range of 40°C, 60°C, 80°C, and a stirring rate were 300, 400, 500 rpm in a beaker. Samples were taken about 20 mL in every 5 minutes for 30 minutes. Then the sample was filtered to separate solids and filtrate. Analysis of Fe concentrations in the filtrate was using AAS, while the precipitate was washed until neutral and dried at 100°C for 2 hours. Then the magnetite powder was characterized by XRD and SEM-EDX. From the characterization we found a cubic structure of magnetite and crystals size of magnetite is about 10-12 nm formed. The morphology of the magnetite particles tended to be aglomerated but if the temperature and stirring rate increased, the aglomeration of the particles would be uniform. This synthesis of the magnetite could be approximated by the Avrami model with the core of forming function value (n) is ranging from 1.3-1.6. If the temperature and the stirring rate increased, the value of the rate constant of transformation (k) increased too. At temperature 30 °C; 300 rpm obtained the constant rate of transformation of 0.01 min-1 and 0.08 min-1 at temperature 80 °C; 500 rpm.Keywords: aglomeration, avrami, coprecipitation, drug delivery, magnetite

Abstract

Network modeling is a way that must be learned by anyone who wants to build a network, either from the type of topology, or software that will be used. In designing a computer network based on Virtual Private Network (VPN), a networker's must have techniques or methods that are network management, so that the network can be made according to need. Network management recommended by Cisco is the Cisco Lifecycle Service Approach (CLSA) method, which manages the network until the redesign stages without changing the direction of the project's objectives. The purpose of making VPN network modeling is to see the effect of topology differences, multimedia traffic and the number of users. The design uses GNS3 v2.0.3 and VirtualBox software, where GNS3 allows complex network simulations, because it uses the original operating system from a network device such as cisco so that the computer can function like a router or even a switch. In designing this network the measuring value to be in use is throughput, delay, packet loss and jitter. Scenario testing using star topology, then do 3 multimedia traffic conditions and use the condition 1 client and 2 client. From star topology test with 3 multimedia traffic, the average delay obtained at 1 client is 34,53 ms and at 2 client equal to 57,76 ms, the average jitter obtained at 1 client is 75,2 ms and at 2 client of 114.5 ms, where the delay result <150 ms (millisecond) is categorized good according to ITU-T G.107 10 06/2015. While the average throughput obtained at 1 client of 0.150 Mbits/sec and at 2 clients of 0.283 Mbits/sec, the results obtained are categorized fairly well according to ITU-T X.135 08/97 with a good categorization of 0.628 Mbits/sec. Abstract

Biodiesel is one of alternative energy to replace fossil fuels from vegetable oil. The aims of this research were to produce biodiesel from castrol oil using heterogen catalyst La/NZA, to studythe effect of agitation speed and the ratio of impregnation La on NZA to the yield of biodiesel and to determine the characteristics of catalyst and biodiesel. The La/NZA catalyst is made bygrinding the natural zeolite to a size of -100 + 200 mesh, then the zeolite is activated using solution of HCL and NH4Cl, then it was dried. La is impregnated into NZA then dried using ovenand calcination. Production of biodiesel is carried out through two stages: esterification and trans-esterification. Before esterification, degumming process was done to remove impuritiesand gum contained in the oil. While in the trans-esterification process, variation of impregnation La on NZA are 0% La, 1% La and 3% La and variation of agitation speed are 300 rpm, 400 rpmand 500 rpm for 80 grams of castrol oil and methanol with the ratio of oil : methanol 1 : 9 was inserted to trans-esterification reactor, reaction lasted for 120 minutes at 60ºC. The highest yieldresulted on using 3%La/NZA catalyst with agitation speed 400 rpm which is 88.15%. Characteristics of the catalyst that has a surface area and ratio of Si/Al are large enough withbiodiesel produced in accordance with predefined standards (SNI 04-1782-2015).Keywords: biodiesel, La/NZA, castrol oil, transesterification.

Abstract

Early warning system is one of the technology to detect land fires by utilizing wireless sensor network. Continuously delivery of data by the sensor node causes a large energy consumption on the side of the node that can reduce battery life. This study was conducted to determine the battery durability in a long time during a fire and when there is no fire on peatland. The design of a portable power supply management system in the early warning system nodes is now used as a solution to get more energy efficiently and easy to operate. Power consumption savings on peatland fire detection systems using LM35 temperature sensor, Atmega8 microcontroller and HC-12 transmitter module. The results show that the best sleep mode feature on ATmega8 is in powerdown mode with a current of 0.287 mA. The range of distance that can be received by the transmitter module is 87 meters far without any obstacles. By using the time interval sleep / wake up scheduling at the time of data transmission able to minimize the large energy consumption and make long the active life of power supply with life time for 318 days..Keywords: ATmega8, Early Waring System, Power Supply, Sleep-wake up Scheduling.

Abstract

The development and existence of increasing fashion can attract the attention of the people including young people. Pekanbaru becomes the right location for this design because there is no fashion education facility and public interest to fashion so that it is needed a place that accommodates fashion education activity in Pekanbaru. Fashion Education and Training Facility is a place that accommodates the activities to explore the world of fashion and equipment by keeping up with the times from time to time. The development of the fashion world in line with the development of contemporary architecture that is varied and innovative both from the shape and appearance and use of materials that will support the look of contemporary architectural style. This design aims to be able to support the activities of the fashion that is educative. The research methods that is used include field data collection, literature study, and empirical studies. The results of this study is a design of the building with a concept of "Dynamic" that is superior in the field of fashion with the principles of Contemporary Architecture in terms of varied forms, neutral building colors, flexible material use and create something varied-innovative on buildings appropriate to the time.Key word: Fashion, Architecture, Contemporery Architecture1
