Abstract

Pencak Silat is an Indonesian martial art which is an ancestral heritage that must be maintained and defended. Rokan Hilir including one of the areas that still keep the art of Pencak Silat, it is proven there are still some universities that still preserve martial arts, which has hundreds of students and even successfully create athletes who excel. But there is no training center that canaccommodate the athlete's training specifically and the availability of good athletes coaching facility, so that the activity of coaching becomes limited. This makes the regeneration of Rokan Hilir athletes difficult to develop and impact on unsatisfactory achievement. For that we need a building that meets the ideal conditions as a place of education and training. The design of this Training Center with the theme of Architecture Metaphor, aims to adjust the concept of design as the object of one of Pencak Silat motion is "Hand Attack". The Training Center will bring up the parable character of a Hand Attack and the properties into the composition of each element of the building, so hope will elicit responses from people enjoying or using their work. so it is hoped thatthe creation of a complete facility container for training activities, so that all athletes can improve theachievementbetter.Keywords: Pencak Silat,Training, Architecture Metaphor

Abstract

Traditional Market Design is intended to meet daily needs of the society. Traditional Market in Rengat is not enough to accommodate shopping area, especially in the district of West Rengat, Pematang Rebah located near the capital city. Based on records of Market Department of Indragiri Hulu until 2016, West Rengat sub-district does not have any Traditional Market yet. Traditional Market in Rengat also has discomfort such as dirty environment and management of internal space and outer space that is not regular. This condition becomes the background of this design. Traditional Market Design by using Form Follows Function approach. Research methods used trought field surveys, literature reviews, and building analysis. Approaches are applied partially or completely to the market building. Form Follows Function prioritizes planned spaces according to their function that isintended to meet human needs. The concepts used in this design are Trade Values in Modern Concepts. The application of this concept is contained in the Traditional Market design which includes layout of buildings that have functionality of the site, the spatial placement inthe building in accordance with needs and functions, arrangement of circulation inside and outside the building that facilitate activity of buying and selling, a convenient utility for users, and building facades that are result of the concept.Keywords: Traditional Market, Form Follows Function, Trade Values in Modern Concepts Rengat.

Abstract

Kubang Raya Road section is a district road linking between panam pekanbaru with left Kampar, this road has 2 lanes, length 17 km, and witdth 6 m. visually there has been road demage such as ctacked roads and potholes. The prolonged destruction of road infrastructure will result in cracks of the damage it self, in other words a damaged road if not repaired then the damage will get worse. For that matter need handling of road damage optimally. To overcome this can be done by giving layer added. The goal is to calculate the added layer by the pd T-05-2005-B Method based on the deflection obtained by using the Benkelman beam tool. Also analyze the couses of deflection that occur using image deflectometry. From this research, it is found that the layers are divided. Into 3 alternatives, each of which consists of several segments as an alternative of 1 segment of read of 26 cm, alternative 2 consists of 2 segments of 19 cm and 32 cm, while alternative 3 consists of 4 segments of 20, 24, 26 and 25 cm. As for its deflectometry analysis, the stations with poor pavement conditions are Sta 01+200 until sta 02+400 and sta 03+000.Keywords: Layer added, Pd T-05-2005-B, Deflectometry, Benkelman beam

Abstract

Fire hazard can bring serious problems to reinforced concrete buildings. At combustion temperatures, heat from the fire propagates from the surface into the core of the concrete. This study aims to model the heat transfer on concrete and the results were compared to numerical method proposed by Wickstrom (1987). The specimen used in this study was a concrete cylinder with the diameter of 150 mm and the height of 300 mm. The specimen was exposed to a combustion temperature of 800oC with the combustion duration of 3 hours. The model carried out in the LUSAS v.16 program. Measurements were made at the distance of 19, 38, 56, and 75 mm from the perimeter of cylinder. The results of the study showed the difference in temperature increase using 2D, 3D, and Wickstrom model. For comparison between Wickstrom and 2D at a depth of 19 mm is 15.96%, for 38 mm is 43.57%, for 56 mm is 66.95%, and for a distance is 75 mm of 89.93%. Moreover, the results gained from 2D finite element analysis was 2,05% higher than 3D finite element analysis. The greater the depth of the review, the results between model and Wickstrom method will be much different. The average value of these results can be used as a reference value of the temperature increase at the point of review at a certain distance from perimeter of cylindrical concrete model under high temperatures.Key words: heat transfer, thermal conductivity, specific heat , LUSAS v.16, Wickstrommethod.

Abstract

Coal in Tanjung Enim Village, Lawang Kidul District as one of Muara Enim Regency is potential region with big Coal production in Indonesia. But in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra is not yet available museum to see how the traces of coal mining activities until now. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design the Batubara Museum which serves to introduce and tell the history of Coal in Tanjung Enim Village of South Sumatra. Research methods used through field surveys, library reviews, and Museum building analysis. The Coal Museum in Tanjung Enim is designed with the theme of metaphorical architecture emphasized on the Metaphor Architecture approach which will feature an architectural work from a different point of view from the actual object. The concept used is crystals because Coal miners themselves call Coal as a valuable black crystal. From the results of the research it was found that the design of this Coal Museum applied the theme of metaphor to the shape and facade of the building by taking the form of an irregular and shimmering crystals.Key words: The Coal Museum, Metaphor, Tanjung Enim, Crystals

Abstract

The design of art marketplace in Pekanbaru is meant to fulfill of buying and selling activities of signature handicrafts and culinary of Riau. This design purpose to the sale and purchase of handicrafts, traditional snacks and souvenirs, the promotion of signature handicrafts and culinary of Riau, and also workshop of Riau’s handicraft such as Siak weaving, embroidery, tekat embroidery, woven, Riau batik, and wood craft , so visitors can see and try the process of making signature handicrafts of Riau. The Art Marketplace uses the design transformation method. This design uses the approach of Riau Malay Architecture. The Riau Malay Architecture Approach is taken from theMalay houses of four major rivers in Riau, that is Kampar River, Siak River, Rokan River, and Indragiri River, that will be transformed into the art marketplace buildings. The concept of designing the art marketplace is Harmony of Cultural Heritage. The concept of harmony is applied through therelationship of building orientation to the site and the relationship between buildings in the art marketplace. While the concept of cultural heritage applied to the transformation of Malay houses from four major rivers in Riau into the art marketplace buildings. The Main Building applies the transformation from the building of Isatan Rokan IV Koto. The Culinary Building applies the transformation from Rumah Lontiok, Kampar. The Workshop building applies the transformation from Balai Kerapatan Tinggi, Siak. Abstract

Concrete exposed to high temperatures decrease its strength. Droped down in concrete strength under strength requirement will make the concrete fail to be functioned. The strength of the concrete can be determined from laboratory test, or mathematic model based on the results from experimental test. This study aims to identify the behavior of the stress and strain of the concrete exposed to high temperatures. The model was carried at using Finite Element Software LUSAS and the results compared to mathematic model proposed by Li and Purkiss (2005) and Chang (2006). The speciment used in this study was cylindrical with diameter of 150 mm and height of 300 mm with a 25 MPa of the concrete strength. The model was simulated burning with a constant temperature that varied from 100°C to 800°C. The result showed that strain stress curve shown from the empirical formula has an elastic phase of 0.6f'c, while modeling based LUSAS has an elasticity phase of 0.45 f'c. The difference between the elastic and plastic phases in the LUSAS model was clearly visible according to the temperature of the concrete, while the models using the empirical formula were not affected by temperature. It can concluded that empirical formula model and LUSAS can be used as a reference for the behavior of concrete when exposed to high temperatures.Keywords : modeling, high temperature, stress, strain, LUSAS

Abstract

Precisely on June 18, 2009 has begun the operation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or Mass Public Transportation Facility (MPTF) and named TRANS METRO PEKANBARU (TMP). TMP bus is expected to be one solution to overcome the problems of transportation in the Metropolitan City. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze include Operational Cost of Vehicle (OCV) and subsidy calculations. The result of OCV analysis for medium TMP buses is Rp.10.275,53. Abstract

Kampar has a natural potential that can be developed into a natural school. School of nature is a method of education by using the condition of the environment is still natural as a medium of learning. Golden Age is a time when almost all of the potential of children experiencing rapid development, so that the education of pre-school children such as early childhood and kindergarten. Applying the natural school method will develop the potential of the child better, make the child become love with the environment, can play freely and learn to socialize. The use of Lontik House Theme as a reference design on the building, the application of the meaning of the home part of the lontik as the order of the period of building and the division of zoning area. Lontik House is a traditional Kampar building with an interesting shape. The concept of Natural Exploration, by utilizing the natural potential that is in tepak so as to produce the order of the region in accordance with the functions and needs of the School of Nature without changing too many natural conditions.Keywords: Kampar, Lontiok House, School of Nature

Abstract

Composting ia a simple and low cost method for reduce a waste to be aeco-friendly product. In composting process, pH, temperature, and moisturecontent conditions must be available for the success of the composting. pH,temperature, and moisture content conditions is a main factor that affected thecomposting process. This research aim to learn pH, temperature, and moisturecontent conditions during composting in both variation of empty fruit bunch(EFB). Variations of raw material are EFB without pretreatment and EFBpretreatment by C. comatus fungi. Both of variations is adding anaerobic sludgewith ratio EFB : anaerobic sludge is (1:3). Result of this research shows the bestvariation is EFB pretreatment by C. comatus fungi. This variation reach C/Nratio 18 with 7 days composting period. Temperature in composting this variationaround (28,6 -38)˚C, pH around (7,6 – 7,98), and moisture content around 90%.Keywords : EFB, Composting, pH, Temperature, Moisture Content, C. comatus,C/N ratio, Composting Period
