Abstract

Pematang Duku is one of village in Bengkalis Distric, Bengkalis Regency. It’s difficult to find some clean water in this village, because has red brown color. The color of water will be sticky, if we use it for showerring and washing. When it rains, people collect the rain water with simple tool like bucket, but it can’t fulfill their needs for long time. In order to fulfill their needs of clean water, we need to apply technology in rain harvesting in Pematang Duku Village Bengkalis Distric, Bengkalis Regency. The research uses behavior model method that using of Rain Cycle 2 software with data input consists of daily rainfall data in a year (mm/day), effective wide of the roof (m2) coefficient of drainage from the roof and data of water needs according to the number of families (m3/day). Abstract

Analysis of irrigation water requirements by using a manual analysis model will make calculations longer, repetitive simulations and calculations will require high accuracy and require a relatively long time. We need the fastmodel, the fastmodel is a numerical model where repetitive calculations and repetitive simulations will be faster. What is the numerical model for calculating the needs of irrigation water with a variety of patterns and optimal planting time that is valid in solving the problem of need for comprehensive irrigation water. Result of rain data calculation was validated with several tests, by testing Outlier Test, Calculation of Effective Rainfall, Calculation of Evapotranspiration, and water requirements. It was found that numerical model for calculating the needs of irrigation water with validation and obtained results that were not much different. Optimal irrigation water requirements which use a small amount of channel water.Keywords : analysis of irrigation water needs, numerical models, calculation validation

Abstract

Machines that operate under certain conditions will experience a performance degradation that will cause vibration, one of which is caused by unbalance symptoms. Machines with unbalance conditions that occur under safe conditions can damage components in a machine. One of them is the damage to the bearing and the entire shaft system of a machine. Efforts to overcome this matter required preventive maintenance with the contact measurement method by attaching a vibration sensor in the form of an ADXL335 accelerometer with the help of Arduino. Accelerometer ADXL335 is attached to the engine component that is operating with the sensor output measurement in the form of vibration signal amplitude. The unbalance indication of the test is characterized by the presence of the dominant frequency at one rotational speed (1xRPM). From the test, the result of balancing of normal condition in one rotor are 0.0165 G with balancing efficiency 78.47 %. The addition of unbalance mass on one rotor obtained balancing result that is 0.01593 G with efficiency of balancing respectively 78.09%.Keywords: vibration signal, unbalance, balancing, Accelerometer, Arduino, ADXL335, unbalance mass

Abstract

High Volume Fly Ash (HVFA) is a concrete with green building concept. The quantity of fly ash each year increases as coal production increases. HVFA Concrete offers a short-term solution of the growing need for portland cement. Concrete with the use of pozzolanic material has better strength in reducing the effect of organic acid from peat water than Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). This research examines the compressive strength of OPC concrete and HVFA concrete exposed in peat water environment with a variation of fly ash as many as 50% of the weight of the cement volume. Concrete samples were made with a cylindrical mold with a height of 210 mm and a diameter of 105 mm. The number of samples made in this study was 18 pieces. The OPC and HVFA culinder concrete were cured for 28 days. Later, the specimens were put in a container and cure with peat water for 7 and 28 days. The results of fresh concrete test showed that the greater the amouny of fly ash used in concrete mix, the workability decreased. For the case of specimens immersed in peat water for 28 days, its concrete strength was 31,05% higher than that of immersed in fresh water. Based on the results of these tests it was concluded that HVFA concrete was able to reduce peat acid attack compared to OPC concrete.Keywords: HVFA, compressive strength, peat environment

Abstract

This paper discusses the use of corn oil and mixing of vegetable oils with mineral oil (shell diala S4 ZX-I) to be used as an alternative material of liquid insulation. Vegetable oil samples used are corn oil before water content reduction, corn oil after water content reduction, and methyl esters. The focus of the study was to examine the characteristics of the mean breakdown voltage in a sample 100% pure vegetable oil and the mixing sample which was then compared with the results of the mean breakdown voltage test on a 100% pure mineral oil sample and according to IEC standard: 156 - 1995 & IEC : 6056 - 1995. The amount of comparison used between the two samples, ie 25% vegetable oil : 75% mineral oil, 50% vegetable oil : 50% mineral oil, and 75% vegetable oil : 25% mineral oil. The test results show the mean value of average breakdown voltage on the 100% sample of pure corn oil before a reduction in water content, 100% pure corn oil after water content reduction, 100% pure methyl ester, and 100% pure mineral oil are: 18.6 kV/2.5 mm, 35.7 kV/2.5 mm, 34.8 kV/2.5 mm, and 34.1 kV/2.5 mm. From the test, it is seen that 100% pure corn oil before the reduction of water content has not fullfilled the IEC standard: 156 1995 & IEC: 6056 - 1995. Meanwhile for a sample of corn oil mixture before reduction of water content with mineral oil and corn oil mixture after reduction of water content with mineral oil also have not fulfilled the standard of IEC: 156 -1995 & IEC: 60156 – 1995, while for some samples the mixture of methyl ester with mineral oil have fulfilled IEC standard: 156 1995 & IEC: 60156 - 1995. The addition of vegetable oil into mineral oil can also increase water contaminants and viscosity in oil mixed samples. The highest water contaminant and viscosity in each oil mixed sample are in the ratio of 75% vegetable oil : 25% mineral oil.Keywords: vegetables oil mixture, corn oil, metyl ester, oil insulation, breakdown voltage.

Abstract

Currently, the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Riau is still using paper documents for internship and final project registration. Thus, the archives that have been stored in a place will be potentially be lost. This is due to human error in management or other reasons. All paper documents need a lot of time, resulting long response to be completed. To overcome this problem, a revolution of online information system is needed in order to save time and provide fast response. The designed online information system is successfully performed using Basic Language and Ms Access as a database for standalone, and MySQL database for website application.Keywords: Internship, Thesis, Database, Website.

Abstract

Providing clean water is a major concern, because water is a basic need and is essential for life and health of mankind. Rainwater is a source of high quality water which is available every rainy season and has the potential to reduce the pressure on the use of fresh water resources (fresh water sources). Rainwater coming from the roof of the house is usually the cleanest water alternatives that can be used as a source of clean water one of them in the village of Teluk Papal, Bantan District, Bengakalis Regency. This study aims to find out alternative clean water that can be used in the village and determine the volume of rain water storage and rainwater harvesting design plan or Rain Harvesting. In this research, modeling Rain Cycle 2 is a rainwater harvesting modeling that uses some of the data, the data are derived from primary data adn secundary data in the form of extensive data roofs society, data on water requirements based on the number of family members , and the data of showers field. The results of this study rainwater harvesters with a communal system using a tank capacity of 14 m3 in Teluk Papal village. The rain harvesting in communal system gives a large percentage of fulfillment where the storage volume can be planned optimally to fulfill the needs of clean water.Keywords : Rain Harvesting, Rain Cycle 2, Communal System

Abstract

Tower Crane is a material transfer tool that is widely used in the construction of high rise buildings. The purpose of using this tower crane is to facilitate the transfer of building materials from one place to the desired place, and using tower cranes will also speed up the process of building a multi-storey building. The large number of building buildings in the midst of a crowd threatens the lives of people who are around the construction area. This is because the arm range of the tower crane that is installed reaches out of the construction area, which is certainly no safety limit. To determine the level of security of the tower crane when working on a predetermined load, analysis of tower crane components is carried out from the load capacity and manual loading analysis and using inventory software on the arm of the tower crane. Based on the result of manual loading analysis, the minimum safety factor value is 6.54 and using software inventory is 6.28.Keywords : Specifications, loading analysis, maximum voltage, yield stress, safety factor.

Abstract

In asphalt concrete mixture. Filler has the smallest percentage composition compared to coarse and fine aggregates. Portland cement, lime stone ash and fly ash are commonly used as filler but they are relatively expensive. Therefore, it is composition to find alternative cheap materials. Clam shell ash is one of those materials that can be found relatively cheaper. The aim of this research is to examine the performance of clamshell ash filler in Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC) mixture that comply with Bina Marga 2010 revision 3 spesification. The type of asphalt used in this research is Pen 60/70. In the determination of KAO, the approximate variations of optimum asphalt content were 5%, 5.5%, 6%, 6.5% and 7%. Clamshell ash proportion used 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%.The results of this study showed that the performance of AC-WC mixture using shell ash filler has better stability value than without it. Recommended shell ash filler content for AC-WC mixture that comply with the spesification is 4%.Keywords: shell ash, General Specification of Bina Marga 2010, filler, Marshall, AC-WC

Abstract

Pulau Gadang village is one of the villages that located in Kampar of Riau province. Recently, there are many people from Riau also from other cities visited Pulau Gadang village because Ulu Kasok region has a beautiful nature. Therefore, it needs designs area to facilitate so it can develop existing potential, such as facilitation of recreation, home stay, and resort so it can increasing tourists for visits. The disign method for these designs are using approach neo-vernacular architecture by apply principles and design ideas that existing in Lontiok house by adding modern elements in it. The concept that used is transformation of return to village that result patterns of region structure, circulation that follows line and contour pattern so that the result of designs make the region become neatly and attraction it self for tourists.Key word: Resort, Lontiok House, Neo-Vernacular Architecture
