Abstract

Vegetable oil with high FFA derived from off grade palm oil can be used as raw material for making biodiesel. ZnO is currently developed as a heterogeneous catalyst in the reaction of biodiesel production. This research aimed to produce biodiesel from low-quality raw materials and determine the effectiveness of the process by looking at the effect of process conditions such as reaction temperature, mole ratio and catalyst concentration on the yield of biodiesel. The process of making biodiesel is done with two stages of the reaction of esterification and transesterification reactions. Esterification reaction carried out at a temperature of 65oC, the mole ratio of oil: methanol 1:12, and 1% catalyst concentration. Variations in operating conditions transesterification reaction include reaction temperature (45oC, 55oC, 65oC), the mole ratio of oil: methanol (1:10, 1:14, and 1:18), and catalyst concentration (0.5%, 1%, and 2% / w). The highest yield of biodiesel obtained as much as 94.26% under the conditions of reaction temperature of 65oC, the mole ratio of oil: methanol 1:18, and 2% of ZnO catalyst concentration. The characteristics of biodiesel produced in the form of density, kinematic viscosity, acid number and flash point are in according to the standards of Indonesian biodiesel.Keywords: biodiesel, esterification, off grade palm oil, transesterificationi, ZnO

Abstract

Precast system is a system which offers quality controlled implementation, they are neat, fast and economical, thus included systems that fiil the criteria for green construction. Precast concrete construction has many advantages than conventional systems. The advantage of this system are, quality assured, fast and massal production, rapid development, environmentally friendly and tidy with good product quality. For buildings precast system have been researched, developed, applied and proven reliability by the Ministry of Public Works and the various national construction industry since 1995, especially in support of the development program of massal simple flat throughout Indonesia. One of the buildings using precast system is building Rusunawa Pekanbaru. This Rusunawa using RJP-type system of precast concrete. Part of the concern is a precast system on beam-column connections. Beam-column relationship is a critical area in the event of earthquake loads. Earthquake load has a complex effect on the structure. In this study has compared the moment capacity between conventional beam-column connections with precast type of RJP. The results are there differences in the precast concrete RJP peak voltage at the connection angle (A), exterior (B) and interior (C) in the amount of 53.85 MPa, 54.31 MPa and 54.31 MPa. RJP moment the total capacity are equal to A = 140.35 kN.m, B = 116.96 kN.m and C = 116.96 kN.m. Peak voltage difference and the connection moment capacity caused by configuration differences longitudinal reinforcement.Keyword : precast, RJP, conventional, confined, connection

Abstract

The growth of economy in Pekanbaru is taking the private sector to participate in the development of Pekanbaru city. One of the example is the construction of Network Buiding of Pekanbaru. This project is an interesting project to observed due to the stature of Telkomsel as a giant company that has worked on the flield of construction for over than 50 years and employing 100 works which are having high risk of work accident. Therefor it is necessary to conduct a research about the evaluation of SMK3 application on those project in accordance with PP N0.50 Tahun 2012 thus the work accident can be reduced to minimum. The method used in this research is quantitative method, Univariat analysis and qualitative descriptive. Quetioner are distributed to 19 respondent for staffs and 108 respondent for workers. This research yields the results of evaluation for the level of succes for SMK3 application at 77,01% which is classified in category two with the range of accomplishment at 60-84% meaning good achievement. As for the succes level of SMK3 Audit result, the value is obtained at 84,34% and classified in good application with 24 minor incompatibility. The factors that affect the workers in the application of SMK3 is psycology factor and the condition o project environment.Keywords: Network Building, Telkomsel, SMK3, Evaluation, Audit.

Abstract

Project Housing development has growing fast, Not only in the central city but also in the suburbs area. PT. Tiga Berlian Sejahtera developing housing project at Jl. Pekanbaru-Bangkinang, Rimbo Panjang, Kab. Kampar. The object object of this research is Berlian Kuok sejahtera’s housing with 3 Ha area and 141 housing units will be marketed. This construction by using alternative is 30% equity and 70% loan. The purpose of this thesis is to determine investment feasibility of project housing development Berlian Kuok Sejahtera with indicator of investment feasibility using method Net Present Value (NVP), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). Then, sensitivity level will be tested of investment, interest rate, benefit, and cost. From the financial terms, the return on investment with a period of 3 years can be fulfilled with a value of NPV Rp 2.141.123.359,44, IRR amount to 20,42%, and the BCR at 1,07. From the sensitivity analysis, housing development Berlian Kuok sejahtera still feasible to limit investment costs increased to 11,32%, the interest rate increased to 63,38%, the sensitivity of benefit decreased 9,47% and sensitivity of cost increased by 136,34%.Keywords : Investment, Housing, Investment Feasibility Analysis, Sensitivity Analysis, Berlian Kuok Sejahtera, Kampar.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find the properties of hard and fresh concrete when using steel slag as sand substitution material on concrete with 25 Mpa f’c strength. The research conducted involves the study for workability, chemical resistance, split tension strength and flexural tension strength. The percentage of steel slag used are 0% and 30% of the sand weight. The results of the research show that the 30% slag tend to increase the water required on concrete. Upon the chemical resistance test for, the compression strength increase at 0.37% for concrete aged 7 days and 0.26% for concrete aged 28 days compared to normal concrete. On the split tension strength test for 30% slag substitution the increase on the strength is at 0.44% for concrete aged 7 days and 0.48% for concrete aged 28 days compared to normal concrete. As for flexural strength test, the strength for 30 % slag substitution increase at 0.29% for concrete aged 7 days and 0.11% for concrete aged 28 days compared to normal concrete.Keywords : steel slag, workability, split tension strength, flexural tension strength, chemical resistance.

Abstract

Banda Aceh is one of the cities in Sumatra that is affected by the earthquake and tsunami Andaman on 26 December 2004. Banda Aceh has a sloping and relatively flat topography, with an average height of 0.8 meters above sea level, making this city became one of the cities with The worst effects of tsunami 2004, and still have the risk of earthquakes and tsunamis in the future. It is necessary for the system in the form of vertical evacuation like escape building, so that residents can take refuge from the tsunami. However, the number and location of the escape building existing only found in the Meuraxa village, so it can not reach all areas of tsunami inundation. This research use network analyst tool to the configuration of the escape building existing to analize the service area of each escape building. From this analysis it can be known that there are still many people who are not able to reach the nearest escape building or toward a secure area before the tsunami waves arrive. The scenarios analysist simulate varying evacuation time conditions, and there are two overload escape building. The simulation result shows that the percentage of residents who are not able to reach an escape building is very small, ranging between 23.73% -10.35%, so it is considered not effective, while the analysis of the escape building existing capacity shows two escape building had excess capacity, ranging between 55.48% - 55,78%.Keywords: Banda Aceh City; service area; escape building

Abstract

Earthquake is a natural disaster that is very difficult to predict, the occurrence is relatively short, but the impact can be very dangerous. Earthquake resistant building design must be implemented in the design of a building. dynamic analysis is necessary to determine structure behavior . In this study, there are two dynamic methods used, they are response spectrum method and time history method. Structures analyzed in this study were Hotel SKA Pekanbaru Building. Abstract

The earthquake is a natural disaster that is very difficult to predict the time and location of occurrence. A relatively short process very inversely proportional to the impact. Planning for building must be considered for anticipated damage that will occur as a result of an earthquake. This study aims to conduct a thorough evaluation of the performance of the structure of the Building Dang Merdu Tower of Bank Riau against earthquake hazards by using the FEMA 310 document. The evaluation was conducted on the evaluation of the first phase of the checklist method FEMA 310, the second phase of evaluation with linear static methods and evaluation of the third phase of the method static nonlinear (pushover). Based on FEMA checklist Building Dang Merdu Tower of Bank Riau does not meet the requirements at the soft story investigation. Stiffness of the first level of less than 70% on the stiffness of the second level. Based on a linear static analysis for equivalent static earthquake load story drift value does not meet the requirements story drift permit SNI 1726-2012 while the earthquake response spectrum meet the requirements. Abstract

The purpose of this research is predict the height of water level of the Siak Sub-watershed Pantai Cermin Station in 2012 by using water level data recorded by Tandun Station and Pantai Cermin Station in the same year. The approach itself uses softcomputing method. Softcomputing method has been widely used as hydrological analysis model, one of them for flood routing forecasting. ANFIS model is one of the softcomputing method that can predict the height of water level. ANFIS models need to be tested reliability of the Siak sub-watershed given the importance of streamflow information to generate management, planning, and early warning system of flood. In this research, ANFIS model which built using AWLR water level data Station Tandun and Station Pantai Cermin for 4 years (2009-2012). ANFIS model was conducted by network model configuration is 2 input and 1 output. The result of water level forecasting by using ANFIS models show that the results of the training, testing and validation that excellent results with value the test statistic parameters of the correlation coefficient (R) is 0,9314 that is in category of very strong correlation, statistic parameters of RMSE (root mean square error) 0,4866 meter, and the test parameters of the average valuation relative error by 14,1439 %.Keywords: Flood Routing, Water Level, Softcomputing, ANFIS.

Abstract

Column failure is one of failure condition in building that most anticipated in civil engineering world, so in designing column required more accurate calculation. One of solution in order to calculating column failure faster and more accurate is using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). ANN imitate how brain working and used to predict column failure. In this research, ANN used to predict reinforced concrete column damage level (DL) thatloaded by static load with variation in: column section dimension, concrete ultimate capacity, longitudinal reinforcement, and steel ultimate capacity. With all variation, total data used in this research is 10962 data. In this research, training and testing composition used is 70:30, hence total data for training data is 7673 data and for testing is 3289 data. Damage level calculated by dividing column strain from finite element software analysis with strain limit from SNI 2847-2013. In this research, column damage level noted as 0 if DL less than 1 and that mean column do not reach failure level, while column damage level noted as 1 if DL more equal than 1 and that mean column reach failure level. Result from testing show that ANN accuracy in predicting damage level reach 98%. This results show ANN can be used for predicting damage level faster and accurate, as well can be used as reference for designing column.Key Words: Artificial Neural Network, ANN, damage level, column, reinforced concrete, static load.
