Abstract

Palm frond is biomass that has not been widely used as a renewable energy source. Torrefaction is a pretreatment process to improve the quality of the biomass as solid fuel. The aim of this research was to determine the condition of the process to the increase in calorific value torrefaction product. Results of the research is the calorific value and the proximate analysis torrefaction products such as moisture content, ash content, volatile content, and the content of fixed carbon. Abstract

Tofu wastewater has COD and BOD concentration of 3,305 and 1,250 mg/L respectively and the volume of waste by 14-20 L/kg of soybeans were process. The low of COD content causes the anaerobic digestion process not optimal to produce methane gas, that needs to be added the other of organic matter such as cow dung. However, lignin and organic polymer in a cow dung causes the mixed of tofu wastewater and cow dung difficult to biodegradable. To improve the biodegradability could be performed by pre-treatment with ozonation process. The aims of this study to determined the effect of pH range (5.22; 8 and 10) and the time of ozonation contact (20; 40 and 60 minutes) to the COD value. The results showed an increase in the percentage of removal COD. The optimum condition was shown at pH 10 time of ozonation was 60 minutes where the percentage of removal COD was 54,8%. The conclusion of this study the higher pH and the longer time of ozonation showed the better of removal the COD.Kata Kunci : Advanced Oxidation Procces, ozonation, biodegradability, BOD5/COD ratio.

Abstract

Open sun-drying was commonly used to dry the bananas. In fact, bananas were spread on bamboo’s tray and exposed to solar radiation without any covers. The banana usually contaminated by insects, animals and dusts which can make the bananas have a low quality. Therefore, an appropriate dryer is needed to overcome this problem. Solar dryer cabinet type was considered as an alternative device. This study was conducted to observe the performance of the solar dryer cabinet by experimental method. A direct solar dryer cabinet was constructed. The dryer consists of solar collector, drying chamber, glass cover and six racks. The drying time was 8 hours. Open-sun drying was also running in the same time as comparison. 3 kilograms banana were dried and take place on six racks. Solar dryer cabinet type gives the maximum temperature of 62,9 °C inside and 31,9 °C outside. Solar dryer cabinet has reduced the mass of banana approximately 49,6 % than initial mass. With open-sun drying could reduce approximately 25,6 % than initial mass. The results show that the banana which dried with solar dryer cabinet has produce brown colour, sweet taste and thin shape than open-sun drying. Beside that, the drying rate was also faster than open-sun drying. The quality of drying was better when using solar dryer cabinet type than open-sun drying.Keywords : Drying, Banana Drying, Solar Dryer.

Abstract

Pasar Pagi located in HR.Soebrantas street takes an imfortant role in fulfilling the needs of the society surroundings, completely to the economic social order. Considering the unsuppported services faced in these public facilities; frequently traffic congestion, insufficient parking space, poor drainage system, and incompletely arranged market spot, redesigning of the Pasar Pagi is a significance to overcome the cases exist. The design method undertaken prior to the project uses the principle of tropical, functional, structural, and esthetical architecture. Since the interactions within the community of the Pasar Pagi are various, those activities developed should meet the standard quality in accordance with the Presidential Decree Republic of Indonesia No. 112 year 2007; traditionally market inside and outside ordering based, well-facilitated principle and responsibly designed tropical architecture. Abstract

This research studies the mechanical properties of polypropylene concrete such as compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV). Application of polypropylene fiber aims to improve the mechanical properties of normal concrete. The specimens were cylinder and beam shapes. The variations of polypropylene fiber used were 0,0 kg/m3, 1,2 kg/m3, 1,4 kg/m3, 1,6 kg/m3, 1,8 kg/m3 and 2,0 kg/m3. The result of research shows the highest compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, flexural strength and UPV occurred at 1,4 kg/m3 addition of polypropylene whereas. The highest splitting tensile strength was occured at 2,0 kg/m3 polypropylene fiber addition. According to the result, additional polypropylene fiber can improve the mechanical properties of concrete, especially compressive strength, modulus ofelasticity, splitting tensile strength and UPV of concrete.Keyword : polypropylene fiber, mechanical properties, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, UPV

Abstract

This research study the compressive strength and porosity of concrete OPC cement, concrete PCC cement, and concrete with made by combine of OPC+10% palm oil fuel ash (POFA) cement. The specimens cured in distilled water for 28 days. Then specimens were immersed ini peat environment until 28 days. This research result show there was an increase of compression strength of the concrete with made combine of OPC+10% palm oil fuel ash (POFA) cement and concrete PCC cement after 28 days immersed in peat environment. The percentage of porosity for of concerete OPC cement immersed in peat environment increased compared to the speciemens immeresed in distilled water. For concrete with combine of OPC+10% palm oil fuel ash (POFA) cement and concerete PCC cement decreased after immersed in peat environment. The test result revealed that durability of OPC+10%POFA concrete and PCC concrete in peat environment the well of OPC concrete.Keywords: OPC, PCC, palm oil fuel ash(POFA), peat area

Abstract

One of the disaster in Dumai City is a flood. This study tries to solve the problem by using a pump. In order to the pump can be able to function with optimally, it is necessary to be given temporary ponds reservoirs. The reservoirs is used to . Case study area observed is Simpang Tetap street. this study conducted a simulati accommodate the water discharge temporary before it is flow to drainage waster with pump support. The location in this study is Jalan Datuk Laksamana. In this research perform reservoirs simulation and pump, to alternate flood prevention. The discharge had been calculated by Rational method and IDF curve by Mononobe method. Ponds reservoirs sized 15000 m3(100m x 50m x 3m) requires pumping capacity of 1 m3 / sec to handle the floodwaters. So a pump 1m3 / sec can be to pump of water from ponds reservoirs to the Dumai River as channel waster.Keywords: flood, drainage system, ponds reservoirs, pumps

Abstract

With rapid growth of technology, cellphone is very important for human being. The need of cellphone is to connect our friends and family and for daily work. But everyone will have an awkward time is battery died in the hot sun. Then we cannot to connect our friends and family. If we have a sunshade can receive the solar energy to charge our phone. The solar-powered jacket has an embedded flexible solar panel, which can absorb the solar energy and convert heat energy to electrical energy. We will have a converter circuit that will convert the supply to a suitable voltage for cellphone charging. The development of telecommunications today make the need for communication of data quickly and efficiently is also one of his company besar.IPv4 scale to support 32-bit addressing and developed IPv6 supports up to 128 -bit addressing and also developed a routing protocol that works padaIPv6.Routing protocol always to update the routing table, with the use of IPv6 has a huge addressing whether the effect on the quality ofnetwork.Skripsi is structured to determine the Quality of Service of the Routing Information Protocol version 1 , Routing Information Protocol version 2 , and Routing Information Protocol next-generation data networks PT . Pertamina RU II Dumai . Performed using the general network simulator 3 software and software wireshark . Analysis of the results of the design using three perangka trouter counted Quality Of Service obtained the value of total delay RIPv2 routing smaller average 11.2 % of the RIPv1 routing . While smaller RIPng routing of routing RIPv2 19.4 % and 28.5 % smaller than the total packet routing RIPv1.Nilai lossrouting smaller RIPv2 routing RIPv1.Sedangkan 15.9 % from 5.2% RIPng smaller than RIPv2 routing and 20.3 % smaller than RIPv1 routing. The total value of RIPv2 routing throughput greater than routing RIPv1 43.6 % and 63.9 % greater than the total value RIPng.Sedangkan routing throughput greater routing RIPv1 routing RIPng.Dengan 35.9 % compared to the use of six devices total RIPng router routing delay average , total packet loss , and total troghput small compared to most other routing .Keywords: Routing RIPv1, RIPv2, RIPng, IPv4, IPv6, QOS,GNS 3

Abstract

Reability evaluation has purposed to find out the level of reliability in distribution system. This research conducted at 20 kV radial distribution system in Bangkinang Substation with FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis). The reability calculation will be compared to PT PLN Standart procedure and its target to be WCS (World Class Service). The reability index are used SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) and SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index). The method is gathering the data, data proccessing, and analysis. The SAIFI of four feeders in Bangkinang Substation has not reached the PLN standart 68-2 : 1986 which is 3,2 times/years/costumer. For SAIDI that already reached the requirement is 21 hours/years/costumer only Candika Feeder, Pahlawan, and Salo. While, PT PLN Target to get WCS (World Class Service) with 1.2 times/years/costumer for SAIFI and 0.83 hour/years/costumer for SAIDI, all of the feeder in Bangkinang substation still far from the target.Key words : distribution system, reability, FMEA, SAIFI, SAIDI
