Abstract

ABSTRACTThis Research discussed about the Ability of on Reading Understanding of the first year students at SMP Daniel HKBP Rumbai, Pekanbaru. the Method of this research was descriptive method, which is the data was is explained in research as it is. The technique of this research was test this use technique of tes. this research descriptive about the ability on reading understanding of the first year students at SMP Daniel HKBP Rumbai, Pekanbaru, in aspect of mean indeas, supporting ideas, conclusion, and recommendation of content. the population of this research was 22 students and been the tofal sample. the resvit of this research were (1) the ability on reading understanding in finding mean ideas in medium level, (2) the ability on reading understanding in finding supporting Ideas in lowest level, (3) the ability on reading understanding in finding conclusion in lowest level, and (4) the ability on reading understanding in finding recommendation of content in lowest level.Keyword: Finding mean, Finding suppotting , Finding conclusion, Finding recommendation of conten.

Abstract

This research was about a synonym of tomodachi, yuujin, and nakama in Japanese.Tomodachi, yuujin, and nakama have similar meaning in Japanese, that is „friend‟, but the usageis different in sentence, depend on the context and situation of sentence. The purpose of thisresearch wants to know of the meaning and similar meaning of tomodachi, yuujin, and nakama.The collecting data from some Japanese dictionary, Japan movie, and Japanese books relatedwith this research.Keywords : Synonym, tomodachi, yuujin, nakama, meaning, sentences.

Abstract

This research aimed to understand the influence of the student learning passionfor the program equivalence of education at PKBM Riau Jaya, MarpoyanPekanbaru. The type of research is descriptive with quantitative approach. Thesamplewas the30 participants of the program equivalence at PKBM Mitra Jaya,with 3 programs: PAKET A = 7, PAKETt B = 11, and PAKET C = 12PARTICIPANT. To collect the data, the questionaire is used wit four alternativeunswers. Theresewarch indicators are divided into two parts; that are intrinsicsand extrinsicks. The result shows that the extrinsic aspects is more influencing tothe student learning passion rather than intrinsic aspect. As the whole, the resultdescribe that the student learning passion at the program equavalence of educationis pretty good.Key word:Study, The influence, passion learn.

Abstract

The purpose of study was to find out the role of parents in fostering self-confidence for the fishermen’s’ children studying in college at Bantan Air villagesub-district of Bantan the regency of Bengkalis. The right thing in the study wasthat the parents educated their children until college. The method used in the studywas descriptive and the population of study was parents numbering 30 parents.The writer did not take any sample because the population of study was not much.In collecting the data about the role of parents in fostering self-confidence for thefishermen’s’ children studying in college the writer used questionnaires directedto the respondents or parents. The data which have been collected were analyzedquantitative approach it was product moment correlation technique. Aftercollecting and analyzing the data the writer concluded that there was the role ofparents in fostering self-confidence for the fishermen’s’ children studying incollege at Bantan Air village sub-district of Bantan the regency of Bengkalis. Theanalysis resulted the statistic reliability with amount of 0.951. The score meansthe role of parents in fostering self-confidence for the fishermen’s’ childrenstudying in college. Abstract

Isolation, characterization, and in vitro testing against murine leukemia P-388 cell of flavonoid compounds from Bauhinia hullettii Prain stem bark have beenperformed. Isolation was carried out by extraction and fractionation. Extraction usedmeceration method at room temperature to obtain n-Heksana extract, dicloromethaneextract, and etil acetate extract. Based on phytochemical testing, etil acetate extractcontain flavonoid compounds. Extraxct etil acetate was fractionated by vacumcolumn chromatography, gravitation column chromatography, and flash columnchromatography. The fractionation resulted yellow crystal that having melting pointof 188oC - 189oC. The in vitro testing against murine leukimia P-388 cell of isolatedflavonoid compounds show “medium” activity with IC50 = 22,5 μg/ml.Key word : Bauhinia hullettii Prain, Flavonoid, Murine Leukemia P-388 Cell

Abstract

An experimental research on the application of the active learning strategy typetrue false chain has been concluded to investigate the improvement of studentlearning outcomes on the subject of the oxidation-reduction reaction in class XSMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. From three classes of the population, it was taken twoclasses as the homogeneous samples, i.e. X.8 and X.7. The X.8 class was a controlclass in which they were used to teach by conventional teaching and learningprocess, while the X.7 class was taken as the experimental class in which theywere given the treatment of the active learning strategies type True False Chainimplementation. The data of the research was gathered by using testingtechniques, namely the pre-test and post-test. Before the pre-test and post-test, thesamples were tested by using a homogeneity test of homogeneity through T-test ofthe two parties in order to obtain two homogeneous classes. The difference inpretest-posttest values was analyzed by using two T-test samples of the party thataimed to test the truth of the hypothesis. Based on the results obtained bystatistical calculation that tvalue> ttable (2.070> 1.67), so it can be concluded thatthe application of active learning strategies type True False Chain can improvestudents’ learning outcomes on the subject of oxidation-reduction reactions inclass X of SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Active Learning Strategy, True False Chain, Oxidation ReductionReaction.

Abstract

Gender merupakan konsep kultural yang dibangun oleh masyarakat. Halinilah yang menyebabkan adanya kesulitan pergerakan untuk menembus perubahanpandangan terhadap gender karena hal ini dibangun oleh sekelompok masyarakat.Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana watak tokoh utamadalam novel Putri karya Putu Wijaya dan perlawanannya terhadap konstruksi genderdalam novel Putri karya Putu Wijaya? Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmendeskripsikan watak tokoh utama serta perlawanannya terhadap konstruksi genderdalam novel Putri karya Putu Wijaya. Penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisisdeskriptif ini, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi. Penerapan teknikdokumentasi yakni dengan mencari data dalam novel Putri karya Putu Wijaya yangsesuai dengan masalah penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 17 masalah genderserta 11 perlawanan tokoh utama terhadap masalah tersebut. Hasil penelitian inimenunjukkan bahwa Putri berhasil melawan ketimpangan gender yang menindasorang lain, seperti kekerasan psikis dan beban kerja sedangkan perjuangan untukdirinya sendiri hanya berupa masalah gender yang tidak diupayakan untuk melakukanpemberontakan lebih besar. Perlawanannya hanya sebatas tindakan kecil untukmenyelamatkan dirinya dari masalah marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotip, dankekerasan.Kata Kunci: Perlawanan, Tokoh Utama, Gender, Feminisme.

Abstract

The purpose of this classroom action research was to investigate the effectiveness ofcooperative learning type Roundtable technique in improving students’ ability inwriting hortatory exposition text at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The participants of thisresearch were 38 students of grade XI who had poor to average level of Englishproficiency. The data mainly gained from the writing test which was divided into pre-test and post-test. The findings indicated that Roundtable technique had a positive effecton the students’ writing ability particularly in each components of writing. It can beseen in the statistical analysis which showed that the mean score in the pre-test was43,9, increased to 60,85 in post-test 1 and 76,37 in post-test 2. It was revealed that theuse of Roundtable technique statistically improved students’ writing ability. Moreover,qualitative evidence showed that students within cooperative learning situation wereactually making meaning for themselves and others. This classroom situation helped theresearcher and the students conducted a creative, effective, and cooperative learningprocess. Roundtable technique was highly effective with creative writing and enjoyablebrainstorming activities. This structure encourages responsibility for the group andteam building.Keywords: Roundtable technique, writing ability, hortatory exposition text

Abstract

This research is a classroom actionresearch aims to improve and enhancethe learning outcomes math. Implementation of the research done in class IIIASDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo, were 22 students the first semester of 2012. Theresearch was conducted by two cycles, each cycle performed three learningsessions and one tests. Quantitative data obtained through testing for learningoutcomes and qualitativedata abaut the activities of teachers and students throughobservation sheet. Quantitative analysis of the result of the analysis showed thatthe average score of the class IIIA SDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo has increased.Quantitative an increase in motivation, interests, and activities of students andteachers in learning of operation of fraction number math with type cooperativelearning STAD. Based on the results of this study concluded that with theimplementation of cooperative learning model type STAD can improve studentlearning outcomes math class IIIA SDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo.Key word: learning outcomes, learning cooperative type STAD.
