Abstract

Abstract: Research on the application of cooperative learning model Round Robin has been conducted to improve student learning achievement on the topic elektrolit-nonelektrolit and redoks at class X SMAN 1 Seberida. This research is experimental research with randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The sample took in the 10 Maret – 24 April 2014. The sample consisted of two classes, X3 class as experimental class and X1 class as control class. Experimental class is a class that is used cooperative learning model Round Robin, while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on analysis of data obtained tarithmetic > ttable is 3,43 > 1,67, means that the cooperative learning model Round Robin can improve student achievement on the subject of reaction rate in class X SMAN 1 Seberida where the effect of an increase is 15,96%.Keywords: cooperative learning, round robin, learning achievement, elektrolit- nonelektroli and redoks

Abstract

Abstrack: The research aims to increase student learning achievement on the subject structure of atoms and the periodic system of elements in class XI science SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu. This research was of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were the XI science 3 as the experimental group and XI science 1 class as the control group. In experimental group was applied cooperative learning snowball throwing model, while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on analysis data tcount>ttable is 2,7 > 1,67, means that the application of model cooperative learning snowball throwing can improve student achievement on the subject structure of atoms and the periodic system of elements in class XI science SMAN 1 Pasir Penyu by category increase achievement (N-Gain) high at 0.73.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Cooperative snowball throwing, Atomic Structure and Element of the Periodic System.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to develop the student’s activity paper on the subject of reaction rate. The type of this research was reserach and development (R & D) with the 4-D development model which include Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research was to develop phase and be continue with a definite tryout. This research was conducted in FKIP Riau University. The object of this research was the students’ activity paper based on the concept hierarchy. The data analysis technique used for this research was descriptive statistic descriptive. The descriptive analysis done by calculated the percentage of validation value. The average score of valuation to four expediency aspect of student’s activity sheet by validator’s team, such as the content properness, the language properness, course and the graphical has expediency value continued is 86.88%, 91.25%, 81.25% and 85.93%. Thus, the average score totality of student’s activity paper based on the problem solving subject of salt hydrolysis is 90% which is in valid criteria, means that the LKPD Developed is proper to be use. Whereas percentage response of student or collegian is 93% to LKPD with positive criteria.Key Words: Student Activity Sheet, Concept Hierarchy, and Reaction Rate

Abstract

Education in the 21st century requires students and teachers to master various skills including critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is an aspect that has been researched in recent years with the aim of seeing the thinking skills and cognitive abilities of teachers and students. Therefore this study aims to analyze students critical thinking in answering questions about chemical bonding topic. The sample of this study was 171 high school students in Pekanbaru. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 by looking at the frequency of students in answering questions and elaborating on the answers. The results of the study showed that students were still at a low critical thinking stage based on the frequency of students in explaining and answering the questions given. Based on the results of this study was expected to provided information for teachers to be able to improve cognitive thinking and critical thinking of students and develop a variety of critical thinking questions so that students have a lot of experience in describing problems and understand well the concept of chemical topics.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to determine the improvement of student achievement by applying collaborative learning strategy type of predict discuss explain observe discuss explain (PDEODE) to improve student’s achievement of solubility equilibrium subject in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The study was an experiment with randomized control group pretest-posttest. The sample in this research is class XI MIA 1 as experiment class and class X1 MIA 2 as control class which is determined randomly after normality test anda homogeneity test. The experimental class is treated with the application of collaborative learning strategy type of predict discuss explain observe discuss explain (PDEODE) while the control class without the application of collaborative learning strategy type of predict discuss explain observe discuss explain (PDEODE). Data analysis for hypothesis testing is done using right-t test. Based on the results of data analysis obtained tct = 4,60 and ttable = 1,67 with= 0,05, dk = 56. tcount > ttable is 4,60 > 1,67 means the application of collaborative learning strategy type of predict discuss explain observe discuss explain (PDEODE) can improve studentachievement on hydrocarbon subject in class X SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar. The percentage increase in learning achievement in the experimental class is 27,43%.Keywords : Collaborative learning strategy type of predict discuss explain observe discuss explain (PDEODE), learning achievement.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to develop constructivism-based modules on periodic systems pf elements that are valid and practical . This development research uses a 4-D model that has 4 stages, namely, Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. To produce a valid module, the module validity test is carried out which includes four aspects of assessment, namely the characteristics of the module, aspects of quality elements, linguistic aspects and aspects of presentation. To see the practicality of the module a limited test was conducted at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru and SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. The results of the study that have been validated by 3 validators state that the percentage is 91.06%. The results of the test questionnaire were limited to 30 students, 90.54% and the results of the responses from 2 chemistry teachers were 90.38%. Based on the results of limited validation and testing, constructivism-based modules on periodic system material elements are declared valid and practical.Keywords: Module, Constructivism, Periodic System of Elements

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve student achievement in the subject reaction rate through the implementation of learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) in class XI IPA SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. Type of research is experimental study using pretest-posttest design. Research conducted at SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. Samples of this research is class XI.IA4 as experimental class and the students in the class as a class XI.IA6 control, this sample was randomly selected after tests of normality and homogeneity in both samples. In the process of classroom learning and classroom control experiment using the scientific approach to the curriculum SBC beracuan. Experimental class is the class that was given treatment by using model Think Pair Share (TPS), while the control class is the class that was treated using the usual method implementation discussion. Based on the results of hypothesis testing data analysis obtained t> t table ie 1.83> 1.67, this shows the differences in learning outcomes of students before and after the study material reaction rate with and without the use of learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) in class XI IPA SMAN 5 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: The research has been conducted at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru which aims to improve student learning achievement on the subject of ion stoichiometry in class X MIA. This type of research is an experimental study with a design Randomized Control Group pretest-posttest.. The sample from the study was students of class X MIA 1 as an experimental class. The experimental class is the class applied to the type Novick learning model. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on the results of the data analysis test, t count> t table is 1,91> 1.67 meaning that the application of Novick learning model can improve student learning achievement on the subject stoichiometry in class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru with categories of achievement improvement learning in the experimental class based on Score (N-Gain) is high, which is 0.81.Key Words: Probing-Prompting Learning, Learning Achievement, Stoichiometry

Abstract

Abstract : It has been applied the REACT strategy to improve students learning achievement on the subject of colloid in class XI MIA SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. The research is an experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were the students of class XI MIA4 as the experimental class and the students of class XI MIA1 as the control class. They were randomly determined after given the tests of normality and homogeneity. Experimental class is a class which was given a treatment by applying REACT strategy in learning process. The data were analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it obtained tscore > ttable (2,73 > 1,67), it means that the application of REACT strategy can improve student learning achievement on the subject of colloid in class XI MIA SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. The improvement category of student achievement at experiment class was high category with normalized N-gain which is 0,73.Key Words : REACT strategy, Learning Achievement, Colloid

Abstract

Abstract: The research about the process of oriented guided inquiry learning strategy has been conducted in SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The purpose of this research is to improve the student achievement on the topic equilibrium solubility in class X1 SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The type of this research is experimental research with experiment design randomized control group pretest-posttest. Sample of the research consisted of two classes, a class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class (implemented the process of oriented guided inquiry learning strategy) and class XI IPA 2 as the control class (without the process of oriented guided inquiry learning strategy). T-test was used as analysis technique. Based on the data analysis obtained t > t table i.e 2,40 > 1.67, meaning that the application of the process of oriented guided inquiry learning strategy can improve the student achievement on the subject equilibrium solubility in class X1 SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. The influence of POGIL strategy to improvement of the student achievement (Logistic Regression test) as high as 10,9%.Keywords: Student Achievement, The Process Of Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Strategy,Equilibrium Solubility.
