Abstract

A descriptive study on learning atmosphere in the excellence BiologyTeacher’s Education Program, The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education,University of Riau has been conducted in the Even Semester of the AcademicYear 2012/2013. The objective was to find out the learning atmosphere inEnglish for Biology II courses. As much as eighteen students have been defined asthe total respondents by total sampling technique. Data of seven indicatorslearning atmosphere, namely: (1) cohesiveness, (2) lecture support, (3)involvement, (4) investigation, (5) task orientation, (6) cooperation, and (7)lecture equity obtained by questionnaire What Is Happening In this Class(WIHIC). The questionnaire was valid (rxy0,54>critical values0,3) dan reliabel(r110,96>critical values0,7). The questionnaires were directly ditributed to therespondents at the end of the semester. Supplements data were taken by videorecording during the learning process. All data were analyzed descriptively. Theresults showed that learning atmosphere English for Biology II were consideredvery conducive from aspects of cohesiveness of relationship between students,task orientation, cooperation and lecture equity. While the lecture support,involvement, and student investigations were considered is enough conducive. Inclonclusion, the learning atmosphere of English for Biology II by using Research-based teaching were considered was enough conducive. However, the learningatmosphere of English for Biology II is still needs to be improved in order tobecome very conducive, especially with regard to indicators of lecturer support,student involvement and investigation.Key Words : excellence biology teacher education programs, english for biologyII course, learning atmosphere, research-based teaching

Abstract

Abstract : The research on application of probing technique has been done to improve of student achievement on the subject of solubility and solubility product in SMAN 3 Pekanbaru. Form of the research is experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The sample consist of two classes, namely class XI IPA 4 as the experimental and class XI IPA 5 as control class which randomly selected after had tested normality and homogeneity. Experiment class was given implementing probing technique while the control class was not given implementing probing technique. Data analysis technique used the t-test. Based on the result of the final data processing t-test formula obtained tarithmetic>ttable (5,64 > 1,67) means the application of probing technique can improve student achievement on the subject of solubility and solubility product in class SMAN 3 Pekanbaru, with category increased student achievement on experiment class including high with the normalized gain scores (N-gain) about 0,71. Abstract

Abstract: This classroom action research was aimed to find out if Word Mapping technique in Brainstorming can improve the speaking ability of the students on Hortatory Exposition Text at grade XI Science Class 1 of SMAN 3 Merbau. The participants of this research were all of the students grade XI Science Class 1 of SMAN 3 Merbau (28 students).The procedures applied were: (a) explaining the objective of the learning, the teaching material, material, the text type; hortatory exposition, and the steps in using the technique, (b) dividing students into some groups of discussion and the teacher delivered the learning instruments needed such as flip chart and markers, (c) explaining about Hortatory Exposition Text to the students, (d) choosing the topic together, (e) asking asked to work in their group in limited time to generate ideas related to the topic as many as possible, (f) facilitating students in discussion, and (g) presenting the ideas in front of the class. The data were collected by using tests, observation sheets, and field notes. The level of achievement in this research was 70, based on the standard minimum criteria of achievement of English subject in SMAN 3 Merbau. The research finding showed that  the implementation of Word Mapping technique could improve students’ speaking ability both at the first and second cycle. Based on the data analysis, the students’ score improved from 39,66 in the pre-test, to 56,72 in post-test 1, and up to 72,16 in post-test II. Therefore, the implementation of Word Mapping technique could improve students’ speaking ability on Hortatory Exposition text at SMAN 3 Merbau. Abstract

Abstract: The research describes about the use of the meaning of aspectuality in ~tari suru. The purpose of this research is to know and inform about the meaning of aspectuality in ~tari suru. Aspectuality is associated with the element of time. Aspectuality only reffering to time from the situation ( beginning, the initial progress or at the end of a situation that is nondeictic). In the Japanese language as well, aspectuality as a function semantic category refers to situations when the element internal/external may be disclosed through the disclosure of internal variability iin the morphology and functional context in syntax level. Descriptive method is the method that applied in this research. The writer used the data from Japanese books, there are N3 ‘Nihongo noryoukushiken bunpou mondai taisaku’ by Shigeno Mie :2005, Japanese a Compreherensive Grammar by Kaiser, Stefan. 2001, and A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar by Seiichi Makino & Michio Tsutsui. 1994. Abstract

Abstract - This study aimed to find out whether or not Think-Pair-Share Strategy could increase the ability of the first year students of SMAN 1 Tembilahan Kota in comprehending narrative texts. The subjects were 22 students from class X.1 at SMAN 1 Tembilahan Kota. This study was classroom action research which was divided into two cycles, in which every cycle consisted of four stages which were plan, action, observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques consisted of observation, field note, and tests (pre-test, summative tests, and post-test). Observation sheets and field notes used to gain the record of the classroom activity during doing the treatments. Pre-test was done before action, summative tests were done after treatment given in each meeting, and post-test was done after the second cycle finished. In analyzing the data, the writer used formula by Hatch and Farhady (1982). The findings of this study indicated that TPS Strategy could increase the students ability in which there were 17 students or 77.3% of the students could achieve the standard minimum criteria of achievement (KKM) with average was 74,5. In addition, the percentage of students’ activities was also increased from the first to the last meetings. Moreover, the result of observation sheets and field notes showed a positive behavior in a process of learning and it also helped students to increase their reading ability and more active in learning and it also helped students to increase their reading ability and more active in learning process.   Keywords: Think-Pair-Share, students reading ability, narrative text

Abstract

Abstract: Evaluation is one of the component parts that holds a very important role in learning system. One evaluation conducted is evaluation students learning result. The evaluation students learning result generally ranked students on normal curve, so that most of the students are or approaching the median (KKM), as well as a small portion is above the average and below the average. Information was obtained from high school PGRI Pekanbaru, even semester examination results grade X IPA on chemical subjects classified was not ranked students on a normal curve. There are 69 students who reach scores of above KKM and only 1 students under KKM. The KKM score is 80 for students to get completeness . Until in fact the exam result curve was obtained a curve right set. So it needs to be done analysis grains of question which has been used on that examination. Analysis grains of question was done as qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result of the qualitative analysis of the 40 questions, there was only 10 questions (25% ) satisfied aspect of the material, the aspect of the construction and language. The propotion of the division on each chapter not balanced and the distribution of the domain of cognitive taxonomic Bloom has not spread equally. Results of the quantitative analysis of 40 questions, there was 1 questions (2,5%) with a category acceptable, 15 questions (37,5%) with categories is fixed and 24 questions (60%) were rejected by category. Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konflik, penyebab konflik dan akibat konflik batin tokoh melawan orang lain, melawan diri sendiri dan melawan alam dalam novel Malam, Hujan karya Hary B Kori’un. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah novel Malam, Hujan karya Hary B Kori’un. Ada pun teknik pengumpulan data  yang digunakan yaitu teknik  dokumentasi atau teknik kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini dengan cara membaca berulang-ulang novel Malam, Hujan sampai bisa memahammi isi novel, kemudian mengelompokkan bagian-bagian yang termasuk ke dalam pembahasan mengenai konflik batin, selanjutnya menganalisis data  dan membuat kesimpulan data berupa tabel. Dari hasil penelitian yang ditemukan dua puluh tiga (23) konflik yang dihasilkan dari dua puluh tiga (23) data dengan sebelas (11) tokoh. Berdasarkan jenis konfliknya, melawan orang lain terdapat 15 konflik, melawan diri sendiri terdapat 5 konflik, sedangkan melawan alam ada 3 konflik. Dan analisis konflik berdasarkan kajian psikologi satra yaitu Id ada dua (2), Ego ada tiga belas (13) dan Superego ada delapan (8). Dapat disimpulkan konflik yang banyak terjadi adalah konflik melawan orang lain, sedangkan berdasarkan analisis konflik berdasarkan kajian psikologi sastra yang banyak adalah Ego.   Kata Kunci: konflik batin, psikologi sastra

Abstract

Abstract: Price, product, location and service quality are some of the factors that influence consumers choose to shop in a shopping center market both traditional and modern markets in general. Learn about consumer behavior can determine how consumers make purchasing process and purchasing process again. This study aims to determine the factors that influence consumers prefer shopping at Hypermart Mall SKA Pekanbaru. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The population in this study are all consumers who happened to be shopping at Hypermart Mall SKA Pekanbaru by Acidental Sampling and sample use of the 100 respondents. The data used is primary data that questionnaires filled out by respondents and secondary data obtained through Hypermart Mall SKA Pekanbaru, literature from books, literature and the internet. From the results of this study concluded that: (1) the price, product, location and service quality factors simultaneously affect the decision to shop at Hypermart Mall SKA Pekanbaru. (2) Hypermart Mall SKA Pekanbaru has a price, product, location and service quality that allows a customer to make a decision to shop at Hypermart and not only that there are other factors even called smart consumers. Abstract

Abstract :This research aims to: a) analyza factors that become a preference for students who choose SMK 1 Bangkinang. b) analyze dominant factors that become a preference for students who choose SMKN 1 Bangkinang.Methot used in this research is descriptive research with total sampling technique. The results of this are a) factors that become a preference for students choose SMKN 1 Bangkinangis prioritied at a sector job. b) dominant factor that become a preference for student choose SMKN 1 Bangkinang is because of want to work stand alone 98,9% c) the category that become a preference a preference for students SMKN 1 Bangkinang for students SMKN 1 Bangkinang, globally show the preference students category choose SMK for hight category amount 55 persons (56%), medium category amount 21 persons (27%), and in low. Category amount 17 persons (17%), it means that preference for students choose SMK is high.   Keywords :Preference

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to produce a learning documents physicsbased learning styles of students in the matter of temperature and heat of class subjectS X SMA valid. The subjects were learning documents that consists of a lesson plan (RPP), worksheets (LKS), medium of learning and achievement test of cognitive, affective, process, and psychomotor. Data collection instrument in this study is an instrument validity device physics-based learning students' learning styles in the matter of temperature and heat subjects of class X SMA. Data analysis in this study is a descriptive analysis of the scores by calculating the validity ofeachindicator validity of the learning documentss. Validity learning documents is determined by the score results of the validation by expert lecturers. Based on the results obtained by the validity of the RPP and LKS format at 100% with the higher category. RPP content validity of 84.14% with higher categories and content validity Worksheet 1, II, III and IV of 75.50% with a high category.rresults media validity of 87.24% with a higher category. Validity tests of cognitive learning outcomes of 84.50% with a higher category. The validity of the test results of the process of learning the skills of 80.19% with a higher category. Validity tests of psychomotor learning outcomes of 91.70% with a higher category. and validity of the test results of 100% affective learning with a higher category, so the learning documents is otherwise valid and ready for use as a learning documents in schools.
