Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to investigate the eighth-semester students’ dominant errors on reading skills for TOEFL at English Study Program FKIP Riau University. The eighth-semester students of the English Study Program in the academic year 2020/2021 were the population of this research. Eighty six samples were selected using the proportional random sampling technique. This quantitative research used the Reading TOEFL Test as an instrument that was distributed via Google – form. The test consisted of 50 questions adopted from the TOEFL Best Preparation book by Shania Kaitlyn and Thomas Logan. The data from the Google form was analyzed to determine dominant errors by observing the number of wrong answers in each reading skill. This research revealed that the dominant errors on reading skills for TOEFL made by the eighth semester were the first on skill IV Implied Detail Question the percentage of error was 61.40%. Second, was on skill I Main Idea Question, with 58.47% of errors, and then skill II Stated Detail Question with 46.03% of errors.Key Words: Investigating, Errors, Reading Skills, TOEFL.

Abstract

Abstract: Kandoushi stated that outou has different functions so that the translation procedures used are different. There are fourteen procedures for translating Japanese kandoushi outou into Indonesian, while in this study two procedures were found, namely component analysis translation procedures and direct translation. Kandoushi outou is translated using the word for word translation method. This study aims to explain the procedure for translating Japanese kandoushi outou into Indonesian by the translator. The method used in this research is qualitative method. One Piece comics were used as the data source. The results of the data analysis of the kandoushi outou translation procedure in One Piece comics found that five data were translated using the component analysis translation procedure and three data using the direct translation procedure. Sou, soudana, arya, aie, saana were translated using the component analysis translation procedure. Un, e, fu-n are translated using the direct translation procedure.Key Words: Kandoushi Outou, Procedure Translation.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the occurrence of various problems during the election of regional heads both at the preparation stage and at the stage of holding the elections in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The formulation of the problem in this study is how are the perceptions of the beginner voters in Sungai Pinang Village towards the 2020 Kuantan Singingi Regional Head Election. The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of the beginner voters in Sungai Pinang Village towards the 2020 Kuantan Singingi Regional Head Election. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The data collection instruments used in this study were questionnaires and interviews consisting of 20 questions with 2 indicators. The population in this study is the Beginner Voters in Sungai Pinang Village, amounting to 66 people. The sample in this study was the entire population, namely Beginner Voters in Sungai Pinang Village, amounting 66 people. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average percentage value of the dominant respondent’s alternative answers was 84,3%, where this range was in the “Good” category with an existence in the range of 51%-100%. Thus, it can be concluded that the perception of beginner voters in Sungai Pinang Village towards the 2020 Kuantan Singingi Regional Head Election (Pilkada) is in the “Good” category.Key Words: Perception, Beginner Voter, Pilkada.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of Table Tennis Extracurricular Activities at SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru City in terms of Student Interests – Facilities and Infrastructure. This research started from various information obtained about the implementation of table tennis extracurricular activities at SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru City which were not carried out as expected, many factors that influenced these extracurricular activities including student interest and facilities and infrastructure. So the purpose of this study is to describe how the interest of students and the condition of facilities and infrastructure in the implementation of table tennis extracurricular activities at Nurul Falah High School Pekanbaru City. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe the interests of students and the condition of facilities and infrastructure in the implementation of table tennis extracurricular activities at SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru City. The population in this study were all students of SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru City, amounting to 176 people. The sampling technique is proportional random sampling, which is taking 25% from each local, so there are 30 students as a sample. Data collection in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The data was processed using the Sudjana frequency tabulation. From the analysis of the research results, it can be illustrated that students' interest in participating in table tennis extracurricular activities at Nurul Falah High School Pekanbaru City is 52%, and the condition of facilities and infrastructure can be described as 58% towards the implementation of table tennis extracurricular activities at Nurul Falah High School Pekanbaru City. For this reason, it is hoped that the attention of all parties so that the implementation of extracurricular activities goes well and in accordance with what is expected. Abstract

Abstract: Biopesticide is the result of extracting certain parts of plants from leaves, fruit, seeds or roots which have compounds that are toxic to pests or organisms that interfere the plants. The basic ingredient used as a biopesticide in this research is red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) extract as a biopesticide to pests on spinach plants (Amarantus sp.). This study used a quantitative approach and the type of research was completely randomized design (RAL). The results showed that the effective concentration in the use of biopesticides was at a concentration of 100% with the level of damage being in the mild category with a damage value of 11.66%. The results of the red ginger extract research can be used as a source of learning and the resulting learning media is in the form of a booklet.Key Words: effectiveness of biopesticides, red ginger, spinach plants

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect on the performance of the union board member participation in Sri Mersing Union in SMK N 1 Selatpanjang. This research was conducted in the savings and loan Sri Mersing UnionSelatpanjang from March to Mei 2014. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The population is all members of the Sri Mersing Union. 61 respondents were selected as a sample of union members who are not serving as manager and supervisors. Data collection instrument used was a questionnaire with Likert scale for the dependent variables : participation of members (Y) ; independent variables : the performance of the board (X). Data analysis techniques used are statistical techniques with simple linear regression. From the results, it can be concluded that : (1) the performance of the board affect the participation of members of the Sri Mersing Union; (2) the effect of the board's performance against the participation of members of the Sri Mersing Union Selatpanjang amounted to 49.4 %                                  Key words : union, performance, participation

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find the contribution of arm power and leg power on the result of 100m sprint of 7th Grade in SMPN 7 Tapung Hulu, Kampar Regency. This research was done in October 2020 - August 2021 in SMPN 7 Tapung Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar, meanwhile the population in this research whis is the 7th Graders that consists of 34 students. Sampling technique used in this research was sampling purposive. The samples in this research were male students in 7th grade of SMPN Tapung Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar, which was 20 students. Based on the result of this research that the writer has wrote on the previous bab (aku ragu bab tu inggris e ape wkwk), we can conclude that: 1) Based on the result of arms power's contribution in 100m sprint of 7th Graders in SMPN 7 Tapung Hulu Kabupaten Kampar has contributed 38,81%. 2)Based on the result of leg power's contribution in 100m sprint of 7th Graders in SMPN 7 Tapung Hulu Kabupaten Kampar has contributed 49,81%. 3) There is a contribution of both arm power and leg power in 100m sprint of 7th Graders in SMPN 7 Tapung Hulu Kabupaten Kampar which was 57,76%.Key Word: Arm Power, Leg Power, Sprint Run Result

Abstract

Abstract: The formulation of the research problem is how high the commitment of organizational members to the activities of youth mosque organizations in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency. Then the purpose of this study was to determine the level of commitment of organizational members to the activities of youth mosque organizations in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency. This research is descriptive with a quantitative approach that aims to describe the results of research with numbers. The sampling technique used a proportional stratified random sampling technique, namely sampling used when members of the population are not homogeneous consisting of homogeneous or stratified groups proportionally (Sugiyono, 2012: 93) the percentage of member commitment to the activities of mosque youth organizations in Tebing Tinggi District, Islands Regency Meranti as a whole from the first indicator of affective commitment which states Very Often (SS) 38%, Often (S) 36%, Sometimes (KK) 18%, Rarely (J) 8%, Never (TP) 0%. The second indicator is continuance commitment which states Very Often (SS) 36%, Often (S) 39%, Sometimes (KK) 15%, Rarely (J) 10%, Never (TP) 0%. The third indicator is normative commitment which states Very Often (SS) 29%, Often (S) 43%, Sometimes (KK) 11%, Rarely (J) 17%, Never (TP) 0%. From the overall average of 3 percentage indicators (SS+S) 73%, the commitment of members to the activities of mosque youth organizations in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency is relatively high. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the commitment of members to the activities of mosque youth organizations in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency is relatively high. The highest indicator lies in continuance commitment, with a percentage value (SS+S) of 75%.Key Words: Organizational Commitment

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out the system of coaching the achievements of FPTI rock climbing athletes in Pekanbaru city. The research method used is quantitative descriptive research of 12 research subjects and based on a relatively small population is carried out with total sampling techniques. Instruments used in the form of interview techniques and questionnaires are conducted online. Based on the results of research and discussion that the author has outlined, from the test results of 10 athletes, it can be categorized as the level of the athlete achievement coaching system in the FPTI rock climbing sport of Pekanbaru city which is categorized very well 7 people by 70%, then in the good category there are 3 people by 30% and from the point of view of managers and coaches who are very good category with a score of 257 and a percentage score of 78.1%. The findings in this study from the point of view of managers and coaches there are obstacles in finding the seeds of athletes, financial limitations and limitations of facilities, infrastructure used by athletes in the training process.Key Words: Performance Coaching System.

Abstract

Abstract: This development research aims to produce a pocket book on the subject of atomic structure and the periodic system of elements. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. Broadly speaking, the stages of research and development include Analysis (analysis stage), Design (design stage), Development (development stage), Implementation (implementation stage), and Evaluation (evaluation stage). This research was carried out until the development stage and then continued with one-on-one trials and user response trials. The resulting product is a valid pocket book based on content feasibility aspects, linguistic feasibility aspects, presentation feasibility aspects, and graphic feasibility aspects. The average score of the four aspects of pocket book feasibility in a row are 97.2%, 96.9 92.8%, and 97.6%. So the overall average score of validation is 96.1% with valid/feasible criteria. The results of trials on teachers and students obtained an average percentage of 95.8% by teachers and 95.9% by students with very good criteria.Key words: Research and Development, ADDIE, Teaching Materials, Pocket Books, Atomic Structure and Periodic System of Elements
