Abstract

This thesis aims to create a design of occupational safety and health management system in PT. Ridwan Jaya Agung that in accordance with the Government Regulation Number 50 of 2012. The design of the system consists of several stages which are initial audit, interviews related to the company's capabilities, analysis of the company's initial gap, policy determination, design of K3 implementation, design of K3 monitoring, introduction of K3, and new audits. In the initial audit, the company could only fulfilled 1 out of 122 criteria; equivalent to 1%, which according to the Government Regulation is not a good or ideal auditing results. Therefore, through this thesis, the researcher had created a design of occupational safety and health management system that meets 119 criteria; equivalent to 98%, and can be said to have fulfilled the implementation of occupational safety and health management system.

Abstract

PT. SMART, Tbk. is an agribusiness company focused on the production and processing of palm oil into industrial and consumer products. The compatibility of actual quantity with nominal quantity that declared on a prepackage is one of the quality specifications that must be met in the cooking oil filling process. Quantity compatibility is controlled to minimize oil loss while meeting the policy of prepackaged. The company controls quantity compatibility by evaluating the filling machines’ performance monthly.  The purpose of this study is to design dashboards as machine performance analysis tools of Thimonnier 4, Thimonnier 5, Thimonnier 6, and Emec 16N at PT. SMART, Tbk. Microsoft Excel is used to design the dashboards and Statistical Process Control (SPC) method is used for machine performance analysis in this study.  Cp, Cpk, and sigma level are the statistical parameters used to measure machine performance. The result of the analysis is machines’ precision and accuracy level are still low in producing products that fit the target specifications.

Abstract

CV. Santoso Jaya is a company engaged in logistics. The company never identified any hazards before, work accidents that often occur in the company are workers hit by goods when they are about to load goods, goods fall, and lifting positions are not ergonomic. Work accidents such as falling goods very often occur, within 1 month there can be more than 1 incident. Therefore, the purpose of making this final project is risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control (HIRARC) in CV. Santoso Jaya to minimize and eliminate the risks. The risk identification process is carried out on loading and unloading activities in the company's warehouse. Collecting data by observing and interviewing workers. After conducting observations and interviews, the authors then carried out risk identification, risk assessment, and risks control. The results from this research activity are that of the 13 sub-activities in central warehouse and branch warehouses, there are 2 sub-activities with a moderate risk rating, 6 with a significant risk rating, and 5 with a high risk rating. From the potential risks that have been identified, the researcher proposes risk control in the form of 1 type of elimination, 5 substitution, 5 design, 6 administration, and 6 PPE.

Abstract

Currently, PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk wants to increase the capacity of the bagging off process to 13,400 sacks per shift. The bagging process capacity of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk, which has an average of 11,371 sacks per shift, cannot meet the new bagging off target. This new bagging off target is given to anticipate the surge in feed demand. Efforts to increase production capacity need to be done to meet the new bagging off target. Calculation of standard time and simulation method is done in an effort to increase the capacity of bagging off. The average number of actual productions of the bagging off process shows that the bagging off process has reached 89.98% of the maximum capacity. The remaining 10.02% of maximum capacity lies in uncertain lost time. Proposed capacity improvements include improving lost time handling procedures, adding robotic arm machines, adding bagging off machine lines, and combining all proposals. Based on simulations, proposals that can help meet production targets are the addition of bagging off lines and a combination of all proposals. The proposed addition of bagging-off lines can increase bagging-off capacity to 33.1% and the proposed combination can increase bagging-off capacity to 40.16%.

Abstract

PT X is a growing company and still does not have a department to carry out engine maintenance. Machine maintenance is still carried out when the machine is damaged. Implementing machine maintenance is still carried out by the production department so that the production department cannot focus on production activities. The technical department is designed to maintain the stability of machine performance and support production activities. The design of the technical department as the responsible department of machine maintenance is carried out by conducting interviews with technical supervisors and technicians who carry out the machine maintenance process. The results of the interviews were then processed and made into various requirements for the formation of a technical department. The design of the technical department as the person in charge of machine maintenance is carried out so that the company can have data on the cycle of damage to machine components, spare parts used and expenses incurred for machine repair. The results of the technical department design include departmental structures, job descriptions, machine maintenance process flows, data collection documents, SOPs and work instructions as well as technical department reports. This can support the company in the engine maintenance process and data collection on the use of spare parts for the engine repair process.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the causes of the problems faced by PT X. The company is currently only able to make 46% of the 84 shipments in 2018. This is caused by the accumulation of isotank in the customer's area for a long time. Therefore, the company wants to invest in the addition of permanent storage in consumer areas, simulations are needed to find out the results obtained after the installation of storage. This research was conducted using Promodel simulation software to describe the current situation. The study was conducted in 2 stages, first modeling the initial conditions to obtain a basis for the proposed model, then simulating the proposal and analyzing whether the proposal that was carried out was influential or not. Results of simulation results show that with the addition of permanent storage, the total shipments owned by the company increased to 56% and got its investment capital back after 6.1 years and have present worth value Rp943.839.385.

Abstract

PT Y is a liner company that delivers cargo across the archipelago. PT Y would like to improve the performance of its marketing department to give the best services in this industry. One of the tools can measure performance is Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Therefore, the PT Y wants to redesign its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) so that it can capture the business update. This study aims to produce a design for Key Performance Indicators for the marketing department of PT Y. The design is based on PT Y's vision, mission, and quality policy. It is constructed via quality objectives, and a strategic map based on four balanced scorecard perspectives (financial, customer, internal business processes, and learning and growth). It also considers the marketing manager's perspective as the company representative. The four perspectives will be described in terms of their relationship through strategy map. The design can capture the company's vision, mission, and quality policy.

Abstract

Company X is a company engaged in the manufacture of wheels, especially wheels for cars. This research was conducted to reduce the percentage of defects in the production process of wheels at company X. The most common defects in the wheels include leaks on the wheels, the wheels are porous, and the edges of the wheels are not flat. The percentage of defective products on wheels in 2019 was 7.97%. The defect occurs when the wheel manufacturing process takes place so that the wheels may experience defects due to errors in the wheel production process. The fix for the problems that occur in this study uses the six sigma philosophy. In the Six Sigma philosophy, there are methods used to solve problems, namely DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). The DMAIC method helps research by finding out the root problems that occur in the wheel production process. The tool used to find the root of the problem is a fishbone diagram. The results of the fishbone diagram show defects that occur up to the deepest roots so that the main cause of the defect can be identified. The proposed improvement is then determined using the 5 why analysis method. The prioritized design of improvement proposals to be carried out is to supervise the operator, give a dividing mark between the operator and the printing equipment, use a temperature gauge, and provide training for operators.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OS&H) is an important factor to be implemented and carried out in a company. “X” university wants to provide a sense of security, comfort, and health to all of its civitas, by designing a SMK3 manual based on ISO 45001:2018. Before (OS&H) is implemented, it is necessary to have a design first. There is an internasional organization that discusses standardization related to occupational safety and health, namely ISO 45001 in 2018. The design is carried out by observing the “X” University environment, collecting data, determining the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 clauses 8 and 9, auditing data by comparing university conditions with standards ISO 45001:2018 clauses 8 and 9, designing a manual for the SMK3 management system with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 clauses 8 and 9, and conducting validation. Before designing, “X” University have nineteen Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and four supporting forms. After designing, “X” University has twenty eight SOP and four supporting forms.

Abstract

Awareness of the various leadership styles will help people to work more effectively by understanding how and why they do what they do, as well as helping them identify where and when they need to adjust their style, especially for supervisors at PT. X. This is because they are in charge of leading and maintaining a department. PT. X is a company engaged in the production of medicines. The company then wants to design training with the help of training modules and videos to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the training. The analysis was conducted to determine the most dominant leadership style supervisors possess at PT. X is done in two ways, namely analysis based on field observations and analysis based on the theory of Peter G. Northouse. The results of the two analyses indicate the most dominant leadership style possessed by supervisors at PT. X is democratic leadership. The design of training modules and videos considers the criteria for the correct training modules and videos and has been validated by the company.
