Abstract

This paper investigates the influence of edge detection as a pre processing method for a capital letter handwriting recognition system on the accuracy of nearest neigbor classification system. The experimental results show that the use of edge detection did not  significantly enhance the recognition accuracy in comparison to the selection of large structuring element size in the dilation operation. Keywords:     Sobel edge detection, nearest neighbor, dilation morphology, binary image, handwriting recognition

Abstract

This paper is aimed at answering the needs of SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah students to get information from the Student Service Center using Information Kiosk System concept. There is a tendency that students need up-to-date information to support their school work. This system will help improving the information service quality to meet the students’ need for more accurate information. The service will be an added value for SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah –Bekasi in competing with other schools in Bekasi area. SDLC used in this paper is the Water Fall type. It is expected that Student Service Centre designed for SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah can be the solution to the information problem, especially information for the students. Keywords: information, information system, information kiosk, student service center, student requirements

Abstract

Separable Programming is the approach used to solve nonlinier problems with the Simplex Method. This method is proven to solve nonlinier problem, which until now has no way like the standard linear programming problems. This paper tries to compare the process and results of  Separable Programming approach to the Kuhn-Tucker Condition. Proved that both give similar result, but in a different way. Abstract

Nowadays, technology increases extremely especialy computer technology. It can be used as a device for communication between software with hardware. Because of  the technology, the serial communication driver will be made by using ModBus ASCII protocol, which in this papers show the application in counter production for industrial garment. In this project, it uses Visual C++ programmer as a serial communication program and Visual Basic as the display. As the result of the experiment, the serial communication program can send the receptive data from counter to computer and can be monitored by computer directly.  Keywords: serial communication, protocol, driver, modbus

Abstract

The mastery of communication and information technology has become a crucial matter for every computer science graduates in Indonesia. For this reason, a research on e-learning model was conducted aiming at finding out whether the model can be an enabler to improve the students’ learning creativity and competence. This research implemented confirmatory research method using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) as the statistical analysis tool to test the hypothesis. SEM is applied to study the relation between the construct and the indicators used to measure the construct. The writer used the AMOS 6.0 software in the data processing. The data collected from the questionnaire were primary data since they came from the students as the main source. The research findings were expected to offer additional references for educational institutions as well as lecturers in Indonesia to adapt learning technologies to improve students’ creativities and competences.   Keywords: e-learning, enabler, creativity, competence, open source
