Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between (1) interpersonal communication with managerial effectiveness, (2) teamwork with managerial effectiveness, and (3) interpersonal communication and teamwork together with managerial effectiveness. The research method used in this research is survey with correlation approach. In the sample size was 61 respondents taken by proportional random sampling. The study was conducted to senior high school principals in East Jakarta. The results of the study pointed out that: (1) there is a positive relationship between interpersonal communication with managerial effectiveness, (2) there is a positive relationship between teamwork with managerial effectiveness and (3) there is a positive relationship between interpersonal communication and teamwork together with managerial effectiveness.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to obtain the relationship between communication with the headmasters’ performance, decision making with the headmasters’ performance, communication and decision making with the headmasters’ performance in subdistrict Kramat Jati East Jakarta. The research method used is survey method with correlation and regression approach. The respondents were elementary headmasters’ who are at subdistrict Kramat Jati East Jakarta as many as 75 samples selected by simple random sampling technique. The finding of the research are: (1) there is a positive relationship between communication with performance; (2) there is a positive relationship between decision making with performance; and (3) there is a positive relationship between communication and decision making with performance.Based on these findings, it could be concluded that any changing or variation occured at headmasters’ performance might have been associate with communication and decision making. To minimaze the variation which occurred in headmasters’ performance, these factors such as communication and decision making are necessary to be taken into account.

Abstract

This research tries to elaborate and analyse the dynamic growth of pondok pesantren (pontren) Al Ittifaq, Bandung West Java as a religiously-based educational institution. In a detail, the research elaborates "how commmunity based education (CBE) implemented in al Ittifaq pontren", focusing on: 1) the objective condition of the CBE implemented in the pontren which covers autonomy of pontren, its curriculum and learning strategy carried out, empowers the community for the sake of their economic development and the community involvement, or participation, (2) managerial characteristics of CBE implemented, deals with its planning, organization, leadership, and control used in the pontren, (3) development of community-based education in pontren. With the qualitative approach by using a single case method, the writer highlights some findings as follows. First, pontren Al Ittifaq is a CBE institution in which it has certain characteristics, namely: (a) kyai-based education autonomy, (b) local need and community based-curriculum, (b) improving the community life quality through community empowering programs, and (c) developing a symbiotic mutualism model of participation, Second, there are some managerial characteristics of the CBE developed in the pontren Al Ittifaq: (a) Kyai has a dominant authority in the case of formulating and establishing the vision, mission, orientation, objective and policies of the Pontren, (b) developing the professional and familism-based organization which is carried out by building the synergic collaboration amongst Kyai, Government (both local and central), higher education institution, non-governmental organisation, companies, and local community, (c) applying the charismatic-professional leadership model, (d) implementing the internal controll based on the principles of trust, amanah, and God’ blessing. Third, CBE model in the pontren is potentially developed extensively.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of accreditation policy of Junior High School period 2005-2009. This research was conducted in the implementation of policies in DKI Jakarta Province with Descriptive and explanations of secondary and primary data methods. The result of research are as follows : (1). The government of DKI Jakarta Province has implemented the accreditation policies are carried out accreditation agency (2). Accreditation agency performance is not optimal due to the change of regulation policy implementation accreditation. (3). There is Junior High School in DKI Jakarta is not feasible in providing educational services, (4). The grade of acreditation inclines to describe the result of quality education, meanwhile the grade of acreditation of international school (RSBI) always describe the result of quality education. It implies that the implementation of accreditation in DKI Jakarta Province, although there are still schools that have not been feasible, but most school accreditation results tend to have a description the actual quality of education.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to study the effect of organizational culture, organizational justice, and job satisfaction to organizational commitment in the National Education Department in around the Government of Gorontalo’s Province. Sample study involving 310 civil servants. The research used survey method and structural equation modelling’s technique.The results are: (1) organizational culture directly positive affects organizational commitment, (2) organizational justice directly positive affects organizational commitment, (3) job satisfaction had a directly positive impact on organizational commitment, (4) organizational culture directly positive effects job satisfaction, (5) organizational justice directly influence job satisfaction, (6) organizational culture directly positive effects organizational justice. Based on this research, the factors of organizational culture, organizational justice, job satisfaction and organizational commitment should be take into consideration by leaders at the National Education Department in around the Local Government in Gorontalo to raise the organizational commitment.

Abstract

The Objective of the research is to obtain information about the effect of personality, emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior on principal’s performance of senior high school. The research was conducted to all of senior high schools principals in The City of Tangerang by using a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hypothesis. The number of 124 school Principal’s as sample was selected by proportional random sampling. The research conclude: (1). there is direct effect of personality on principal’s performance. (2). there is direct effect of emotional intelligence on principal’s performance. (3). there is direct effect of organizational citizenship behavior on principal’s performance. (4). there is direct effect of personality on principal’s organizational citizenship behavior. (5). there is direct effect of emotional intelligence on principal’s organizational citizenship behaviour. Therefore to enhance schools principal’s performance can be carried out by personality, emotional intelligence, and the organizational citizenship behaviour.

Abstract

The objective of this casual research is to obtain informating concerning the influence of information management knowledge and work ethic to teacher competitiveness. The research was conducted by using a survey method with path analysis in testing hypothesis. In this research, 233 samples of teachers were selected in random. The research was focused on three aspect; information management knowledge, work ethic and competitiveness. The result of the research as follow: (1) There is a direct positive effect of information management knowledge on teacher competitiveness in state Senior High School Denpasar, (2) there is a direct positive effect of work ethic on teacher competitiveness in state Senior High School Denpasar, (3) there is a direct positive effect of information management knowledge on teacher competitiveness in state Senior High School Denpasar. Therefore, teachers competitiveness can be improved by gaining the information and elevate the personnel’s work ethic by way of training, and workshops.

Abstract

This research aims to determines compatibility of (1) quality planning, (2) quality improvement, (3) quality control, and (4) quality assurance at quality assurance program of higher education in University of Lampung. Evaluation approach used in this research is objective – oriented evaluation model, with qualitative evaluation method. This research is focus on congruence between the objective of the program and its actual outcomes. Evaluation results showed that implementation of quality assurance in University of Lampung has been implemented since 2001 till now has been running well. They implemented they own concept called Unilaway. But there are some problems must be resolved, so the implementation of quality assurance in University of Lampung would be better so that the purpose of the implementation quality assurance in University of Lampung immedietaly reached.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to determine the relationship between Leadership and Adversity with Motivation . The research was conducted at public senior high school in East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta. The data was collected using survey research methods from 120 teachers as samples and selected by simple random sampling. The research are as follows: (1) there is positive correlation between Leadership with Motivation, (2) there is positive correlation between Adversity with Motivation, and (3) there is positive correlation between Leadership and Adversity collectively with Motivation. Therefore, Based on this result of research, it could be concluded that Motivation would increase if high Leadership and conducive Adversity is exist. Efforts to improve the leadership can be done through the implementation of the school principal leadership tasks in accordance with the main duties and functions. While efforts to increase adversity can be done through good self-management and positive attitude in all matters.

Abstract

The research aims to know about: (1) the correlation of organizational culture with job performance; (2) the correlation of motivation with job performance; (3) the correlation of both organizational culture and motivation with job performance. The research was done in state elementary school in Administrative City South Jakarta. The method of this research is quantitative description approach. The purpose of using this method was to analyze the correlation between two or more variable through hypotheses test and also to research social phenomena in real situation. The results of the research are answering the hypotheses: (1) There’s a positive correlation of organizational culture with job performance; (2) There’s a positive correlation of motivation with job performance; (3) There’s a significance correlation of both organizational culture and motivation with job performance. From the research result, it can be concluded that if organizational culture of State Elementary School’s Principal comfortable, job performance will also increase. The same thing also happens to motivation. Therefore, the Principals’ organizational culture and motivation ought to be improved in order to attain higher job performance. Finally, organizational culture and motivation can simultaneously improve job performance. If they are applied, the Principal can attain better job performance.
