Abstract

Background Transformational leadership has emerged as a critical factor in shaping school performance in the dynamic and complex educational environment of the 21st century. Purpose This study explores the influence of transformational leadership on various dimensions of school performance, including academic outcomes, teacher motivation, and institutional innovation. Design/method/approach Utilizing a comprehensive literature review and empirical data from multiple educational institutions, this article examines the mechanisms through which transformational leadership fosters a collaborative, motivated, and performance-driven school culture. Results Key leadership components—such as idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—are analyzed in relation to their impact on both teachers and students. The findings suggest that schools led by transformational leaders experience higher levels of teacher engagement, improved student outcomes, and greater adaptability to educational reforms. Contribution/value This paper contributes to the growing body of research on educational leadership by highlighting the critical role of transformational leadership in driving school success in the modern era.

Abstract

Background Changes in education in the digital era demand leadership that not only adapts to technology but also provides creative solutions responsive to both local and global needs. Purpose This study aims to explore how innovative leadership approaches can help navigate changes in global education systems, with a focus on West Kalimantan. Design/method/approach This research employs a qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis in various schools in West Kalimantan. Results The findings indicate that educational leaders who apply innovative approaches, such as integrating technology and enhancing collaboration between teachers and students, are better equipped to overcome the challenges of rapid educational system changes. Moreover, approaches that emphasize collaborative problem-solving contribute to improving teaching and learning quality in schools. In conclusion, innovative leadership plays a crucial role in supporting the transformation of educational systems amidst global change, particularly in regions facing geographical and technological challenges like West Kalimantan. Contribution/value These findings underscore the importance of educational policies that promote innovation and leadership adaptation to meet future challenges.

Abstract

Background Student management is a crucial element in the educational system that aims to develop students' potential comprehensively. Purpose This article discusses various aspects of student management, ranging from creating a conducive learning environment and facilitating effective learning to managing extracurricular activities. Design/method/approach This research employs a qualitative approach with literature study data collection techniques. Results The results show that good student management can create a comfortable learning atmosphere and support the development of students' interests and talents. Additionally, collaboration between schools, educators, and parents also plays an important role in optimizing students' potential. Contribution/value This article concludes that effective student management not only improves academic performance but also develops non-academic aspects essential for the formation of students' character and social skills.

Abstract

Background The role of school principals' transformational leadership becomes crucial. Principals who inspire and empower their staff can drive significant changes in school culture and practices. Purpose This study aims to examine the role of transformational leadership model of school principals in implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) to achieve sustainable quality in vocational schools. Design/method/approach The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study at one of the vocational schools in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and literature studies. Results The results of the study indicate that the transformational leadership of the school principal serves as a cornerstone in the implementation of TQM. Principals who adopt a transformational leadership style are able to create a clear vision, empower staff, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and manage change effectively. Effective implementation of TQM results in improved quality of learning, student satisfaction, and enhanced operational performance of the school. Contribution/value This study concludes that transformational leadership is a key factor in the successful implementation of TQM to achieve sustainable quality in vocational schools.

Abstract

BackgroundThe concept of independent learning is an effort to create a learning environment that is free of expression and free from various pressures, but a fun learning activity. PurposeThe purpose of this research is to describe the concept map of independent learning to prepare the golden generation 2045. Design/method/approachThe method of research is qualitative with literature study techniques. The technique of collecting data is by conducting study studies of books, journals, and articles that are related to the research topic. ResultsThis concept has four aspects that can be used as a basis for preparing this generation. First, the use of technology will make students more critical, active, capable, collaborative, and innovative. Second, the competence of students is needed at the moment. With that competence they have experience, knowledge, they can work faster, problem solving, and they can also adapt very well. Third, the creativity of students will make them more productive, think smart, good work in team, and they can fast adapt to changes. And fourth, with character education, the students become more respectful, learn to be curious, communicative, responsible, and care for the environment.Contribution/valueThe concept enhances students' critical thinking, active participation, collaboration, and innovation through technology, enabling them to solve problems efficiently and adapt quickly to changes.

Abstract

Background Digital transformation in inclusive schools is a strategic step To upgrade the quality of educational human resources. By utilizing technology effectively, schools can create learning environments that are more inclusive and adaptive to the needs of all students. Purpose This study aims to explore how digital transformation impacts the development of human resources (HR) in inclusive schools. Design/method/approach Utilizing a qualitative approach through literature review, this research synthesizes data from recent journals, books, and articles published between 2014 and 2024. Results The findings reveal that digital transformation significantly enhances HR development by providing interactive and adaptive training methods such as e-learning platforms and simulation tools, which are crucial for improving the skills of educators in inclusive settings. Additionally, digital tools facilitate flexible learning and better communication between teachers, students, and parents, thus supporting a more inclusive educational environment. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure, insufficient training, and regional disparities need to be addressed to fully realize the benefits of digital transformation. Contribution/value The study highlights that while digital transformation offers substantial improvements in teaching and HR development, ongoing support and resource allocation are essential for overcoming existing obstacles and maximizing its positive impact on inclusive education.

Abstract

Background The information technologies used include the Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM), info GTK, Learning Management System (LMS) for Guru Penggerak, and various digital initiatives under the Sekolah Penggerak program. Purpose This study aims to analyze the implementation of information technology in supporting the execution of the Kurikulum Merdeka in schools across Indonesia. Design/method/approach The research employed a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were obtained from relevant stakeholders, such as teachers, principals, and education staff from several schools that have adopted the Kurikulum Merdeka. Results The results showed that the use of information technology has enhanced the effectiveness of teaching, facilitated collaboration among teachers, and improved access to more diverse and structured learning resources. However, the main challenges include limited infrastructure in some schools and the need to improve digital literacy among teachers and education staff. Contribution/value In conclusion, information technology plays a significant role in supporting the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka, but its success requires adequate infrastructure and enhanced digital skills.

Abstract

Background By knowing the influence of organizational culture and leadership style, the nagari government can take strategic steps in managing these two factors to create a conducive work environment and encourage positive work behavior from nagari officials. Purpose The purpose of this research is to determine the contribution of organizational culture and leadership to improving work behavior in the Nagari IX Koto Sungai Lasi apparatus. Design/method/approach The research method used was survey with total population was 40 respondents, the data collection method used a questionnaire. Results The results of the coefficient of determination obtained a value of 0.329, that the contribution between the variables Organizational Culture and Leadership Style was 0.329 or 32.9% and influenced by other variables was 67.1%. The t-calculated result of Organizational Culture 0.753 > 2.024 has an influence and is not significant on the Work Behavior. The t-calculated results of Leadership Style < 3.699 < 2.024 have an influence and significance on the Work Behavior and the results of the f test are 9.072 > ftable 3.24 with a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The large fcount value of the ftable value and the significant value is smaller than 0.05 indicates that Organizational Culture and Leadership Style simultaneously or together have a significant and significant influence on the Work Behavior. Contribution/value This study concludes that organizational culture dan leadership is a key factor in the successful of work behavior.
