Abstract

Career choice is one of the most important decisions in a student's life. This article is a systematic literature review that aims to analyse the role of parents in influencing college students' career choices from the perspective of Roe's personality theory. It collects and analyses relevant research in this area to gain a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between parental roles and college students' career choices. The results of this literature review indicate that parents have a significant role in influencing college students' career choices. In addition, factors such as gender, parents' educational background, and family structure can also influence parents' influence on students' career choices. However, research also shows that other factors beyond parental influence, such as individual interests, educational experiences, and environmental factors, also have a significant impact on students' career choices. Therefore, it is important to consider other interacting factors in understanding students' career choices holistically.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying often occurs not only in Indonesia, but also in other parts of the world and can be experienced by everyone. Cases of bullying in Indonesia have attracted the attention of many groups, especially in the world of education, which occurs in school environments. This research aims to determine the causal factors and their impact on student learning activities.  The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. To test the validity of the data using a credibility test with the triangulation technique. The results of this research prove that the bullying that occurred at SMP Negeri 42 Palembang, both verbally and physically, was caused by the students' inability to defend themselves, thus making the perpetrators of the bullying carry out these actions continuously. The role of the family, childhood experiences, and the school environment have an impact on bullying and learning activities. The role of guidance and counseling teachers is needed to provide counseling services to victims and perpetrators of bullying so that it does not happen again and to create a safe and comfortable environment in the school environment.

Abstract

Human emotions can be categorized into two main types: pleasant and unpleasant feelings. Positive emotions, such as happiness and love, enhance well-being, while negative emotions, such as anger and sadness, can significantly impact individuals. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in improving emotion regulation among students of Ibnu Katsir 2 Jember. The method used is a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design, involving both experimental and control groups. The participants consist of 38 students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis using t-test shows a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), with the experimental group experiencing improved emotion regulation after the intervention. These findings confirm the effectiveness of REBT in reducing negative emotions and contribute to the field of guidance and counseling.
