Abstract

Productivity is one of the materials studied in ecology courses. As a result of the interview, many students still have difficulty in understanding this material and lecturers also have difficulty designing learning that connects context with the environment. Therefore, student learning activities need to be designed with a STEM approach. The research aims to produce a learning trajectory to help students on productivity materials using STEM approaches. The method used in this research is a design research type validation study consisting of three stages: preparing for the experiment, experiment in the classroom (pilot experiment & Teaching experiment), and restrospective analysis. The research subjects were 6 students and 3 lecturers. Research instruments in the form of interview sheets for students and lecturers and using student metacognitive questionnaires. The results of this study show that through a series of activities that have been done, learning using STEM can help students understand productivity materials and become a starting point in the learning process

Abstract

The bioactive compounds contained in cinnamon bark have been extracted. Extraction carried out using ethanol, methanol and water as solvents. The type of compound extracted identified by gas chromatography - mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) technique. From result the identification carried out, obtained as many as eight types of compounds, namely: using ethanol as solvent: (1) cinnamaldehyde, (2) bornylester of acrylic acid, (3) alpha-copaene, (4)Cumarine, and (5) methyl isoheptadecanoate; generated with using methanol as solvent: (6) trioctanoin and (7) 1-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyldecane; and that produced using water as a solvent is (8) 2,5-cyclooctadienol. of the eight Of these compounds, the most dominant is cinnamaldehyde. This shows that the bark Sweet has the main content, cinnamaldehyde. Because the main content is cinnamaldehyde, then cinnamon bark has the potential to be developed in the future as an ingredient herbs for, among others, as anti-diabetic and anti-viral therapy, due to cinnamaldehyde has the character of being able to lower blood sugar levels and is very attractive to weaken the virus. Abstract

The development of science and technology requires teachers to use information technology-based learning media in the learning process. One of the efforts made by teachers is the use of electronic modules (e-modules). The e-module is an innovation from the print module that can be accessed via smartphone or personal computer (PC). E-modules can display images, videos, audio, and animations, so that the learning process become interactive. This study aims to analyze the practicality of using e-modules for teachers and students. Practicality is the ease of use of the product being develop. Meta-analysis is done by collecting similar articles by searching for articales from several journals via the internet. The sample used in this study was 10 articles related to the use of e-modules. The result of the study found that the average practicality level of using e-modules. The result of the study found that the average practicallity level of using e-modules by teachers was 0,893 in the very practical category, while the average practicality level by students was 0,879 in the very practical category. Based on the result of the analysis of the use of the developed e-module, it can be categorized as practical so that it is suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and information affect many fields, including education. In field of education, the development of technology and information can be observed in the use of e-learning in learning activities. E-learning is a systems that allows learning activities to occur without being limited by space and time so tha learning activities can be carried out even though teachers and students do not meet face to face. One of the easiest to use e-learning is edmodo. Edmodo is an e-learning platform that has easy acces like the facebook social media platform. Research on edmodo was carried out with the aim of producing valid edmodo learning media. The research was carried out using the Research and Development (R&D) method with 4-D model. Validation is carried out on four main aspect, namely the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics. From the validation process on these four aspects, the validity value is 89,51% with valid category. Therefore, the edmodo learning media that was developed was valid.

Abstract

Nitrogen fixing bacteria are often called diazotroph bacteria which are able to use air nitrogen as a nitrogen source for their growth. Nitrogen fixing bacteria have the ability to increase the efficiency of N- available in the soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphological and biochemical characters of nitrogen-fixing bacteria from the roots of mung bean and tomato plants in Belu Regency. Isolation of nitrogen fixing bacteria by scratch method and spread on NA media. While the selection of nitrogen fixing bacteria using Jensen agar media. The results of the isolation obtained 12 isolates. Six isolates from roots of tomato plants and six isolates from roots of mung bean plants. The morphological characters of the 12 isolates were generally round in shape, small in size, flat in elevation and milky white in color. The selection results showed that 3 isolates grew on Jansen agar media, namely RKHB05, RKHB06, and RTB06. The result of gram staining showed that RKHB05, RKHB06 isolates were gram negative and had cocci cell form, while RTB06 isolates were gram positive with bacillus cell forms. The 3 isolates were positive for motility test, Citrate test, TSIA, and Catalase test

Abstract

Gelodok or mudskipper fish is a type of Gobiidae family that are dominant fishes in the mangrove forest, one of them Mangrove forest in the Coastal Cirebon. This study aims to identify species of mudskipper fish in the coastal Cirebon based on morphometric and meristic characters. This research method using purposive sampling, with two areas: Mundu Pesisir and Kanci river estuary. The mudskipper are collected when low tide use manually collection and uses the net fishing. The collected samples were then identified based on 17 morphometric measurment and 10 meristic characters. The identification results were compared with key identification books.The results shown that Periophthalmus chrysospilos has an elongated body shape with a rounded tail, brown body colour with golden spots, the dorsal fin has a black upper part while the dorsal fin has a golden spot accompanied by a black line, has eyes on the top of the head that can rotate around, inferior mouth. Body length 6.8–10.6 cm.

Abstract

The weakness of online learning in human anatomy and physiology courses is that the expected final ability cannot be achieved which has an impact on the quality of learning that is less and less than optimal output. There needs to be a learning process in which there is the use of integrated learning media, innovative learning approaches, one of which is the approach of science, environment, technology, and society. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning SETS integrated with learning media on students' critical thinking skills. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of learning SETS integrated learning media on students' thinking skills with a significance value of anaova test of 0.00. The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive influence between the use of SETS learning integrated with learning media on students' critical thinking skills.
