Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengusulkan langkah-langkahkonkrit yang dapat dilakukan oleh para pihak pengambil kebijakan pendidikan dalam upaya islamisasi sistem pendidikan Aceh. Strategi yang diusulkan di sini dipengaruhi oleh rekomendasi-rekomendasi empat seri Konferensi Dunia tentang Pendidikan Islami yang dilaksanakan di Mekah (Arab Saudi), Islamabad (Pakistan), Dhaka (Bangladesh), dan Jakarta (Indonesia). Selain itu, buah pikiran dalam artikel ini jugadipengaruhi oleh teori Pendidikan Islami yang dikembangkan oleh Prof. Syed Naquib Al-Attas dan Prof. Syed Ali Ashraf. Aspek-aspek pendidikan Islami yang dibahas terbatas pada Islamisasi landasan filsafat dan tujuan pendidikan, Islamisasi kurikulum, Islamisasi buku pelajaran, dan Islamisasi metode mengajar. Pembatasan ini mengikut pada aspek-aspekyang dibicarakan dalam ke empat seri konferensi dunia yang dirujuk. Disebut strategi baru karena hasil ke empat konferensi tersebut belum pernah dirujuk oleh Majelis Pendidikan Daerah (MPD) Aceh sebagai lembaga yang diberi tanggung jawab mengembangkan konsep pendidikan Islami di Aceh.

Abstract

In the process of learning, is often found a tendency to minimize the participation of students in the class. The dominance of the teacher in the learning process leads to the tendency of students become more passive. In the implementation, assessing the learning process of the subject of Social Sciences is boredom because of its monotonous and expository presentation so that students are less enthusiastic, resulting of less interesting in the subjects. Having observed this classroom situation, it is necessary to think about ways of presenting and learning atmospheres. The suitable learning process of social sciences subject for students is that the learning community based model. This learning focuses on the processes and interactions in the social context. Interaction and social process should be a concern in achieving the learning objectives.Learning community based model is a concept of the creation of learning communities in schools, the learning process between teachers and teachers, teachers and students, students with students, and even among the school communities with the community outside the school, so that the student achievement can be improved. This design of this study was based on the classroom action research at the Junior High School, SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. The study found that the learning community based model has improved student learning outcomes in both first and the second cycles. Thus, the learning community based model was found to be a suitable way of improving students’ achievement in learning the subject of social sciences at the SMP Negeri 2, Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study - through content and descriptive analyses - seeks to explore Ibn Jama'ah thought about his ethical code educators in Tazkirah al-Sami'. To that end, the book Tazkirah al-Sami' will be discussed in depth. The study obtained that the code of ethics educators in Tazkirah al-Sami' generally consists of three categories, namely; The first, code of personal ethics educator, consists of 12 chapters sequentially explain the relationship between educator and God (verse 3); glorify science (3 verses); ascetic (4 verses); the use of science (paragraph 2); away from the action and place reprehensible (fourth paragraph); implement and support the symbols of religion (4th paragraph); maintaining practice sunnat (4 verses); norms of social interaction (paragraph 13); purify themselves of bad moral character and cultivate commendable (second paragraph); the deepening of knowledge (paragraph 6); learn from the juniors (second paragraph); and write (4 verses). Second, the code of ethics educators in teaching, which consists of twelve chapters sequentially explained about: preparation before teaching (3rd paragraph), praying and teaching behavior (paragraph 7), classroom management (paragraph 5), the initial act of teaching (4 verses ), hierarchy  and transfer of knowledge (paragraph 6), voice teacher and an opportunity to ask (third paragraph), the function of discussion in Majlis (fourth paragraph), the role of educators in the discussion (paragraph 3); fair, intelligent and fair (paragraph 6), an appreciation of non-regular students (second paragraph), the cover learning (6 verses) and professional (third paragraph). Third, codes of conduct interaction with the student teachers, which consists of fourteen chapters, each associated with; the purpose of teaching (verse 9); directing learning objectives (3 verses); motivator (paragraph 6); treat students like their own children (4 verses); attention to student ability and openness delivery of science (4 verses); earnest and convincing (fourth paragraph); ability test (paragraph 5); reward, motivation and learning groups (paragraph 3); the intensity and scale of learning priorities (paragraph 3); learning resources (paragraph 4); to be fair and considerate (4 verses); monitoring and warning (paragraph 5); moral and material support (paragraph 6); humble and meek (fourth paragraph).

Abstract

In highly competitive era in the educational sector, the performance of private education unit manager, especially in terms of the quality of revenue and financing management process should be realized according to the plan to support the achievement of the expected goals. Therefore, all schools in Banda Aceh, as the manager it is necessary to measure the optimal level of school budget and revenues that have a functional planning, execution, control and supervision. Budget surplus was a dominant issue. This study focusses its analysis on the issues of schools’ budget in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The study found that the performance of schools’ budget and revenues was not functioning optimally. Using the diagram method, this study then identified the causes of suboptimal performance, also undertake a review of policies of financing managemnet that already exist to seek improvements to optimize performance. By minimizing the causes that exist and by using the principles of Kaizen, which repairs, are carried out continuously and showed an increase in the performance of budget and revenues who proved the use costs of less than the plan during the empirical test period. By optimizing the performance of budget and revenues is very supportive for the school manager in Banda Aceh in formulating policies to achieve the desired goals.

Abstract

In Indonesia especially in Aceh Province, the public universities aremost prefered by students, because the public university has high quality and prestige compared to private university. However, recently some publicuniversities show low performance indicates by low accreditation grade. Thisstudy aim was to evaluate impact of the works system which is adopted by certain university on the key performance indicator of the university and to evaluate the influence of performance of the university on the student trust. This study was conducted in Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. This university has grade C of national accreditation for 2009-2014 periode. This is the descriptive and verification studies where the survey method was used by using the questionnaire. The linear regression model was performanced to evaluate the effect of dependent variables on dependent variable. A total of 170 responds were involved in this study comprises of academic staffs, students, supporting staffs, parents of student.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of learning approach and belief in the ability of reasoning of natural sciences subject at the secondary schools in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This study uses experimental method to design treatment by level 2 x 2. The population of the study is all students of secondary schools in Tanjung Priok subdistrict, Jakarta during study years of 2012-2013. The sample of the study is all students of SMPN 140 Jakarta. Sampling was selected using Multi Stage Random Sampling in order to obtain a sample of 40 students. Research hypotheses were tested using the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study found that; (1) reasoning ability in the group of students who were given the approach of Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) is higher than the reasoning ability groups of students were given the conventional approach in the subject of natural sciences, (2) there is an interaction effect between learning approach and belief in the ability of reasoning, (3) the ability of reasoning group of students who were given a higher VAK approach of a group of students who were given conventional approach to groups of students who have a high belief, and (4) the ability of reasoning groups of students were given lower VAK approach of a group of students who given the conventional approach to groups of students who have a low belief. The finding of this study would be beneficial for science teachers and for teachers of other subjects in general to implement VAK approach in enhancing and improving the reasoning ability of student in the subject of natural science.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the polemic on the importance of class attendance in a learning process in the institutions of higher education. This article aims to examine the influence of class attendance on students’ grades using quantitative approach. Primary data was collected from four classes of Department of Islamic Banking Diploma (D-III PS) and Department of Islamic Economics of State Islamic University (UIN) Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. Data was then analysed using several stastistical techniques from the SPSS. The result showed that statistically there was a significant positive correlation between class attendance and students’ grades. The findings clearly demonstrated the importance of class attendance in attaining the good grades among university students within the two departments. Nevertheless, analyzing the results more closely indicated that class attendance was not a direct factor in enhancing the students’ grades. It only functioned as a mediator and trigger for the emergence of other factors, i.e. motivation, persistence, and cognitive ability

Abstract

This article is aimed at discussing descriptively the important role of educational institution in Aceh in producing the entrepreneurial-minded graduates. Limitations of jobs available for graduates of educational institutions, especially in Aceh require educational institutions to be able to produce the graduates who can create employment opportunities, rather than seize the existing jobs offered by the government and private agencies. A formal and an informal entrepreneurship-based education are believed to be able to offer alternative solutions to create job oppotunities, and in turns will solve economic problems of Aceh by boosting economic growth and enhancing welfare of the people of Aceh. In order to create the entrepreneurship education become more effective and be able to produce young entrepreneurs in Aceh, the educational institutions there should reformulate curriculum-based entrepreneurship, enhance the cooperation and partnerships with the private sector, and attract more supports from the government and public sector. The quality, skills, and experiances of the entrepreneurial teachers/tutors must also be countiously improved

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the ways to improve students' ability in designing and developing an Educational Game Equipment (EGE) and increasing the activity of students in the subject of Early Childhood Learning Technology (CLT). This research is the action research based on the lesson study model. In conducting the research, researcher assisted by colleagues to plan and conduct lectures for twice action study in order to improve students' ability in designing and developing the EGE and increasing the activity of the students in the instructional technology training courses of CLT. Data of the study were gathered from observation and questionnaires, which then was analyzed using the analysis of the average. The sample of the study was 34 students of Teacher Education-ECD, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University who were taking the courses of CLT Learning Technology at the second semester of academic year 2014/2015. Students were divided into 5 groups, resulting in product 5 EGE. The result showed that the activity of students in cycle 1 were in the very good category with the average score of 4.2 and the second cycle were in the very good category as well with the average score of 4.25. As for media design data of CLT, the result was in the category of very good with the average score of 4.5. Finally, in designing the APE, the study found the average score of 3.5, which was in the category of good.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of government spending on education and per-capita income to the development of education in the province of Aceh by using panel data. The literacy rate, enrollment rate of primary and secondary schools were utilised to measure the development of education sector as the dependent variable, while public spending on the education sector and per-capita income were used as the independent variables.  This study covers 23 districts/cities in Aceh province over a period of years 2008-2012. Based on the Random Effect Model of panel data analysis, the study documented that the government spending on eduaction and percapita income positively and significantly impacted the literacy rate. However, the government spending on the education sector did not significantly influence the enrollment rate of primary school, junior high school, and senior high school. Although the percapita income have no significant impact to the primary school enrollment rate and junior high school, but it has an effect on the enrollment rate of senior high school. The results of this study imply that in order to promote the development of education in the province, the government should increase the budget allocation of income and expenditure for the education sector
