Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the X-ray film profile and X-ray films that have the optimal characteristics. This study was conducted on four X-ray films with different brands that are used in 13 radiology department hospital/health center/Clinics in Semarang, called A film, B film, C film and D film. Characteristic curve of each X-ray film was obtained by sensitometry method and measurement results are used to determine the value of basic fog, contrast film (average gradient), latitude and film speed. The results of the study, the characteristics profile of films that have fog basic values lower or equal 0.22 (≤ 0.22) are A, B and D films except C film. Contrast highest to lowest owned B, A, C and D films. Range from the highest to low of film latitude is D film, C film , A film and B film. Speed films produced relatively similar for all X-ray film. Optimum characteristic profile films shown in the B film. The use of X-ray film in a shooting radiograph should pay attention to the type of object being examined to produce optimal quality radiographs and understand each characteristic profile of X-ray films are used.

Abstract

Infused water is drinking water that has been given additional pieces of fruit so that the water gives a certain sensation of water. Infused water are consumed by the community because the manufacturing process is easy and use local fruits. To determine the vitamin content (A and C), mineral content (K, Ca, Mg) and acceptability of infused water with sample codes (A, B and C). The benefits of this study are to be able to add to the list of healthy and nutritious drinks that are beneficial for health because infused water contains vitamins and minerals. Experiments with Complete Random Design (CRD), Sample code A, B and C in the analysis of vitamin levels, mineral content and acceptability. Acceptance analysis was carried out Friedman test and Wilcoxon test. Vitamin and mineral levels were analyzed by ANOVA and LSD statistics. Infused water contains mineral potassium, calcium and magnesium and contains vitamins A and C, there are significant differences between the sample code A, B and C. Infused water containing minerals, vitamins, and accepted by the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify differences of curing time for gingival bleeding and gingival pocket between the two Chitosan modalities. The study design was Quasi- experimental with pre-post test design. Mouthwash and Chitosan gel formulations were used in the Faculty of Pharmacy Yogyakarta’s laboratory. Respondents were older people in Sari Village, Gadjah Demak Sub-District, and were divided into two groups based on the types of Chitosan used. Respondents were examined and identified their teeth with periodontitis. Measurement of gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth was done three times, on days 1, 5 and 10. The different categories of gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth after treatment were then analyzed using Kruskall Wallis Test. The result showed differences in gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth before and after application of Chitosan gel (p= 0.014, and 0.00, respectively).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the density of flies, fly types, sanitary conditions, and the control efforts in Wage Market and Manis Market Purwokerto. This descriptive research only describes about those 4 points. Data obtained is then analyzed in tabular form by comparing the measurement results with existing standards. The result of the density of flies in Wage Market and Mains Market is 6 tails / grill block. It is categorized as the high density so there should be a protective system against the breeding places of flies. Moreover, there are no efforts to control flies at Wage Market and Manis Market. The conclusions of this study are in the Wage Market and Manis Market there are high densities of flies, so there should be a control for this phenomena. Species found are Musca Domestica, Sarcopaga sp and Phaenicia sp. Some suggestions of fly control efforts are by giving some covers to the common trash bins and waterproof trash bins, and to increase the intensity of transporting trash from TPS to TPA that previously 3 times to 4 times in the Wage Market and 2 times to 3 times in Manis Market.
