Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the use of the word isim and fi’il in the Qur'an. This research method is to process data related to the books of fi’il and isim that have relevance aspect to the language of the Qur’an. Among the results of this study are: the nature of isim is not only a noun, but also adjectives, state, pronouns, appoint, name, and mashdar. Isim divided into seven categories there are (mudzakkar, muannats, simplex, mutsanna, and plural, and ma'rifat nakirah, munsharif and ghair munsharif, maqshur and manqush, jamid and musytaq, mu'rab and mabni). While fi’il consists of three parts, (simple past fi’il madhi, simple present fi’il mudhari ', and simple future fi’il amr). DOI: 10.15408/a.v1i2.1143

Abstract

The primary goal of language teaching is to enable students to understand the proper and clear language expression that he listens, or reads, or writes; in order to achieve a very lofty goal namely communication between human beings. It is recommended that we start teaching Arabic language to children since their early age. It is that a child spends hundreds and perhaps thousands of hours listening to his mother tongue, to recognize their voices, and to distinguish between them and finally to produce words and sentences. Abstract

Social constructivism, which is often called Vygotsky’s constructivist theory, is the latest teaching and learning approach which emphasizes on the importance of culture and social context or social interaction for knowledge development. Social constructivists view learning not only as individual process but also as a social process. Guided with social constructivism, this article aims to discuss its application in reading teaching. The implication of the models of learning recommended based on social constructivism are collaborative learning, cooperative learning, peer-scaffolding, reciprocal teaching, and contextual learning. DOI: 10.15408/a.v1i2.1145

Abstract

This article analyzes the phenomenon of Arabizi ( عربي - إنجليزي ), using Arabic in Latin letters and numbers that mixed with dialects and foreign languages . This phenomenon is widespread in social media and can be used as one way to learn Arabic language independently with internet or social media. This paper is not intended to support the phenomenon, but rather as an alternative study to use of learning media more creatively. The results of this study indicate that Arabizi is an Arabic style that needs to be studied related to the contents and variety of language and Arab culture. DOI: 10.15408/a.v1i2.1146

Abstract

This article is result of research on the validity of the college entrance test. College entrance test including programs of study must have the characteristics of a good test especially predictive validity. Entrance test study program Master of Arabic Education (PBA) FITK UIN Jakarta consists of four types of tests; the Academic Potential Test (TPA), TOAFL, TOEFL and interviews, the four must be able to predict exactly when the students join the program. That is, students who earn higher test scores should be able to follow the course as evidenced by the value of IP and or higher GPA compared with the results of the entry test lower. Similarly in predicting students graduate on time, which requires in addition to success in the lecture was also successful in the final project / Thesis which some students a frightening specter. Its mean that students with higher admission tests should be faster in completing the study compared with the lower value of the entry test. If not, then it must be held meta-evaluation of the instruments and implementation of entrance tests which have already become standards.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1300

Abstract

Learning a language means learn to communicate. The goal of learning Arabic by using communicative approach is to stimulate the student to be able to master both receptive and productive skill. Receptive skills includes listening and reading skill, while productive skills includes speaking and writing skills. The objective of this study is to describe the streaming radio as a strategy in Arabic learning for the student of Arabic Department at Cot Kala Langsa State Islamic Institute. The result at the study shows that the streaming radio strategy gives a good response in conducting the Arabic class. Means that streaming radio can enhance the quality of teaching and learning Arabic at this institute.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1480

Abstract

Motivation plays important role in language learning. When the language learner’s motivation is decreasing then he is being in a demotivation stage. Several previous studies in reveal that demotivation could diminish the student achievement in language skill. The phenomenon of this demotivation is rising in Arabic language learning in Indonesia’s madrasa. Using qualitative method with short essay from 105 students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Cianjur, this study shows two major factors that cause demotivation in Arabic learning: external and internal. Specific external factors come from: (1) complexity of Arabic language; (2) learning material and method; (3) learning facility and environment; and (4) teacher’s behavior and personality. While internal factor sources are: (1) basic skill and previous learning experience; (2) negative attitude to Arabic subject. These factors need to be considered by teacher and other stakeholder as basic reference to increase student’s motivation in Arabic learning.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1511

Abstract

The objective of this study is to get empirical evidence whether there is a significant difference between the class which is taught by andragogy technique and which is taught by conventional technique. This article describes that technique is one of the important factors in conducting Arabic class. This study categorized as an experimental research. The data is collected by giving the test for both experimental and conventional class. The result of the study shows that experimental class which is taught by applying andragogy technique get higher score than the conventional one. Means that Al-Ittihad Islamic Boarding School get higher score than Ulil Albâb. It seems that technique influences the quality of teaching and learning Arabic.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1512

Abstract

Pedagogic & professional competence at the teacher is needed in the teaching & learning Arabic. Therefore it is needed a good preparation to support bath at competences in the teaching & learning Arabic. objectives of this study is to describe the important role of pedagogic and professional competence of Arabic teachers in Bandung, and their efforts to enhance both competences. The method used in this research is Naturalist Inquiry, by using Pedoman Penilaian Kinerja Guru Kemendiknas tahun 2010 for forty five Arabic teachers in Bandung. The result of the study showed that the degree of professional & pedagogic competence of Arabic teachers are normal (C). A caused by the linearity of their education. To be a Muallim Najih fi al-lughah Al-Arabiyah it needed a good professional and pedagogic competence.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1513

Abstract

Grammar is one of the important components in studying a language. It is related to stimulate language skills includes: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This article discusses the teaching of grammar in pesantren . The pesantren used salafiyah and modern curriculum. The study is conducted for 22 students in the last class. The method used is a correlational study. The result of the study shows that there is a positive correlation between grammatical mastery and language performance in teaching & learning Arabic. Means that grammatical mastery is one of the important factors to perform a good Arabic language.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1516
