Abstract

The abuse of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and addictive substances in Indonesia, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), has reached an alarming level. According to data from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the number of cases and the seizure of narcotics evidence in DIY shows significant fluctuations each year, with the majority of abuse victims being male students aged 15-64 years. Bidayatussalikin Islamic Boarding School plays an important role in assisting teenagers who are victims of narcotics abuse in DIY. This research aims to identify the therapy and rehabilitation methods implemented by Bidayatussalikin Islamic Boarding School for these victims. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, involving musyrif, counselors, and students as research subjects. The results indicate that the Sufi approach, including takhalli (self-cleansing), tahalli (self-filling), and tajalli (self-control development), is applied as a therapy and rehabilitation method, and has proven to have a positive impact on former students who are victims of narcotics abuse, both physically, psychologically, and psychomotorically. This success is also supported by community participation and cooperation with government agencies. This research contributes by highlighting the importance of a spiritual approach in the rehabilitation of narcotics abuse victims and the role of Islamic boarding schools as effective rehabilitation centers

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum Policy is a strategic step in Indonesia's educational reform, and this study is a collaborative effort to understand its implementation at the Senior High School (SMA) level. We aim to conduct an in-depth analysis, with particular attention to the process of understanding, application, and its impact on teaching and learning activities. The research employs a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The primary respondents are teachers, students, and school staff actively involved in the policy implementation, making this a truly inclusive and comprehensive study. The findings reveal that implementing the Merdeka Curriculum Policy in high schools faces challenges, such as inconsistent understanding of the policy among teachers, the need for ongoing training to enhance teacher competencies, and infrastructure limitations that hinder optimal application. Nevertheless, notable successes include increased creativity in learning, active student engagement in learning processes, and the emergence of innovations in teaching methods. Further analysis indicates that active teacher participation and managerial support from the school are critical success factors in implementing this policy. This research is not just an academic exercise but a practical guide for the development of educational policies. By providing insights into the challenges and opportunities of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, we aim to empower policymakers with the knowledge to design more effective implementation strategies. This study also serves as a beacon of hope for other schools facing similar situations, offering practical guidance and enriching the academic literature on the dynamics of educational policy in Indonesia, particularly at the high school level.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies that need to be developed from an early age, as they play a vital role in the processes of analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. Study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of the innovative traditional game "Congkalak Edukatif" in stimulating critical thinking and social skills among 5–6-year-old children during Prasiaga Scout activities at TK IT Asshiddiq. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of this study were children aged 5–6 years participating in Prasiaga Scout activities. The results indicated that the implementation of the Congkalak Edukatif game significantly enhanced children's critical thinking abilities, as evidenced by the increased posttest scores compared to the pretest in the aspects of analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. Furthermore, this game was also effective in developing children's social skills, such as communication skills, cooperation, sportsmanship, and emotional regulation in social interactions. The enjoyable, socially interactive play experience provided by the Congkalak Edukatif game encouraged children to learn teamwork, understand rules, and build empathy towards their peers. Thus, Congkalak Edukatif can serve as an innovative and effective learning media alternative for improving critical thinking and social skills in early childhood, particularly within Prasiaga Scout activities. This article makes a significant contribution to the development of future science by introducing Congklak media as an innovative media that has been proven to be effective in stimulating critical thinking skills and social skills in early childhood, thus opening a new paradigm in learning practices that integrate aspects of analysis, problem solving, decision making, and social interaction from preschool age.
