PENINGKATAN KEAKTIFAN DAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPS MELALUI MODEL LEARNING CYCLE 5E Laila Fatmawati

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keaktifan dan pemahaman konsep IPS dengan mengguna-kan model learning cycle 5E. Tahapan learning cycle 5 E meliputi engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, evaluation. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa PGSD UAD kelas D yang berjumlah 46 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Penelitian berlangsung dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi: observasi, tes hasil belajar, wawancara, catatan lapangan, serta studi dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan mengacu pada model Miles Hubberman, dan kuantitatif berbantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keaktifan dan pemahaman konsep IPS pada mahasiswa dengan menggunakan model learning cycle 5E.Kata Kunci: learning cycle, keaktifan, pemahaman konsep IPS. INCREASING THE ACTIVENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF SOCIAL STUDIES CONCEPT THROUGH LEARNING CYCLE AbstractThis research aims to improve the activeness and understanding of social studies concept through learning cycle with 5e. Steps of learning cycle with 5e consist of engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, evaluation. The subject is college students of class D of the Elementary School Education Department, Ahmad Dahlan University who are 46 students. This research is a classroom action research. This research has two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection used observation sheets, tests, interviews, field notes, and documentation study. The collected data was analyzed used qualitative referred to Miles Hubberman model, and quantitative assisted by SPSS. The result of the research is the college students’ activeness has increased through learning cycle with 5e.Keywords: learning cycle, activeness, understanding social studies concept.

This study aimed at generative a proper and effective Adobe Flash Interactive Multimedia for Grade IB Students under the sub-theme “My Food is Healthy and Nutritious” in SD Negeri Glagah Yogyakarta. This research and development study referred to the stages that had been developed by Borg Gall. The development design was put into four stages, namely: (a) exploration; (b) product development; (c) product testing and revision; and (d) implementation. The subjects of preliminary field testing consisted of 15 Grade IV students in SD Negeri Glagah. Then, the subjects of expanded field experiment consisted of 30 Grade IV students in the experimental group and 29 Grade IV students in the control group; all of these students came from SD Negeri Glagah. The data were gathered using the interview guideline, the interactive multimedia product evaluation sheet, and the test items. The data that had been gathered were analyzed using the independent sample t-test with rate of significance 0.05. The results of this study have generated the interactive multimedia that according to the material experts and the media experts belong to the “Very Good” category. However, there have been differences in the pre-test results and the post-test results between the experimental group and the control group after both groups were exposed to the interactive multimedia with p 0.05. These differences imply effectiveness improvement with p = 0.005.

The objective of the study is to describe the effectiveness and the fitness of the STEM-Integrated encyclopaedia as the enrichment for the learning materials of Temperature and Heat among Grade V Students in the elementary school degree. Concerning the objective of the study, the nature of the study is Research and Development (RD). In conducting the RD, the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model had been adopted. In overall, the Analysis was directed toward the problems that had occurred among the students, the Design was related to the media that should be presented to the students, the Development referred to the model of the media that had been in accordance to the needs of the students, the Implemented was related to the Development that had been performed and the Evaluation was directed toward the media that had been developed. In gathering the data, several techniques had been applied namely interview, test administration and questionnaire distribution. Then, in analysing the data both of the qualitative and the quantitative approach had been adopted. Furthermore, in testing the hypothesis, the paired t-test had been administrated to identify the results of the effectiveness of the study. Based on the results of the assessment by the media validator, the material validator and the learning validator, it might be concluded that the STEM-integrated encyclopaedia has been fit for the implementation of the learning process among the Grade V students within the elementary school degree. In the same time, the results of the test show that the effectiveness of the STEM-integrated encyclopaedia has been significant since in the conduct of the hypothesis test (t-test) using the paired t-test it is found that the t-count (10.325) the t-table (2.048). Besides, it is also found that the significance (p-value) has been 0.000, which is lower than the α 5.00% (0.0000 0.050) from the results of the comparison between the pre-test and the post-test. Therefore, the use of the STEM-integrated encyclopaedia has been fit for implementation in the elementary school degree.

KEEFEKTIFAN PEMBELAJARAN METEMATIKA MELALUI PENGGUNAAN MEDIA BENDA KONKRET PADA KELAS V SD TIMURAN Novi Kristiani; Zuhdan Kun Prasetyo

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keefektifan pembelajaran melalui penggunaan media benda konkret pada siswa kelas V SD Timuran Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tidakan kelas (PTK), yang terdiri atas dua siklus, yang setiap siklus mengikuti tahapan-tahapan Model Kemmis dan Taggart yang meliputi: observasi perencanaan, tindakan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Timuran Yogyakarta yang terdiri atas 11 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, tes, dan angket. Kriteria keberhasilan penelitian diukur dari (1) nilai rata-rata kelas minimal 75, (2) minimal 75% siswa telah mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan yaitu 75, dan (3) minimal 75% siswa memberikan respon terhadap pembelajaran dalam kategori baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media benda konkret dapat meningkatkan keefektifan pembelajaran. Hal itu terbukti dari tercapainya semua kriteria keberhasilan yang ditetapkan dalam penelitian, di antaranya: (1) hasil tes menunjukkan peningkatkan nilai rata-rata kelas (2) persentase siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM yang ditetapkan sekolah meningkat, dan (3) respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan media benda konkret dalam kategori baik.Kata Kunci: keefektifan, pembelajaran matematika, media benda konkret. IMPROVING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS THROUGH THE CONCRETE MEDIUM TO FITH GRADE STUDENT OF SD TIMURAN AbstractThe aims of this research are to improve the instruction effectiveness through the use of concrete media to the fith grade students of SD Timuran. This research is a classroom action research study consisting of two cycles, each of which follows the stages in Kemmis and Taggart model including: planning, action and observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 11 male student and 14 female students of SD Timuran Yogyakarta. The data were collected through observation, test, and questionnaires. The criteria of success were (1) the minimal average class score was 75, (2) a minimum of 75% students exceeded the minimum achievement criterion, and (3) a minimum of 75 % student gave a good response to the teaching. The results show that the use of the concrete media can improve the instruction effectiveness. It proves that the criteria of this research can be achieved, including: (1) the average of the test results increases, (2) the percentage of the students who exceed the minimum achievement criterion increases, and (3) the students’ responses to mathematics teaching using concrete media are in a good category.Keywords: effectivenes, mathematics teaching, concrete media

The study was detailing: (1) the thematic-integrative content; (2) the scientific approach content; and (3) the authentic assessment content in teacher’s book and student’s book. The study was a content analysis using a qualitative approach. The 2013 Curriculum textbooks for Grade 2 students on the theme of water, earth, and sun which consisted of teacher’s book and student’s book that had been the subject in this study, the thematic-integrative content, the scientific approach content, and the authentic assessment content were the objects in this study. The data analysis technique that had been implemented consisted of unit selection, sample selection, data recording, data reduction, conclusion drawing, and narrative. The results of the study show that: (1) the thematic-integrative contains the aspect of integration and centers on the students’ integration; (2) the use of scientific approach is not always in sequence so that not all indicators in each aspect of scientific approach has been found in each sub-theme; and (3) in terms of authentic assessment content, not all indicators have been found.

Developing inquiry-based lectora multimedia in order to increase the logical ability and the creative thinking Sumandita Noviani; Muhammad Nur Wangid

The study aimed at: (1) developing inquiry-based lectora multimedia which is eligible to increase the logical ability and the creative thinking of the fifth-grade students; and (2) measuring the effectiveness of the inquiry-based lectora multimedia development in increasing the logical ability and the creative thinking of the fifth-grade students. The study was a research and development (R D) effort. The developmental design of the study was adopted from the procedures proposed by Borg Gall. In the preliminary field testing, the researcher involved three fifth-grade students from SD Jetis, Bantul. Then, in the main field testing the researcher involved eight fifth-grade students who were not involved in the preliminary field testing. Finally, in the operational field testing the researcher involved 33 students from Grade VA. The product of this study will be an inquiry-based lectora multimedia. Based on the research and development that had been conducted, 117 material experts and 87 learning experts declared that the inquiry-based lectora multimedia development is feasible with “Highly Valid” assessment category. The inquiry-based lectora multimedia development is effective to increase the logical ability and the creative thinking of the fifth-grade students. From the operational field testing, the researcher found that p = 0.003 0.050 and this finding implies that there is an increase in the logical ability and the creative thinking of the fifth-grade students who had been taught using the inquiry-based lectora multimedia in comparison to the students who were not taught using the inquiry-based lectora multimedia.

The implementation of school-based lesson study at elementary school Purnomo Purnomo

This study aims to describe and interpret the implementation of school-based lesson study in SDN I Kretek. This study uses the qualitative research. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, field notes, and documentation. The data validity was determined through sources and techniques triangulation. The data were analyzed using the Interactive Analysis Model from Miles and Huberman. The results show: (1) the planning of school-based lesson study program at SDN 1 Kretek has been implemented from the beginning of the school year 2014/2015 by establishing school-based lesson study team. This team is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating school-based lesson study program at SDN 1 Kretek, (2) school-based lesson study at SDN 1 Kretek is implemented in three phases, namely planning, implementation, and reflection, and (3) The evaluation of lesson study is conducted by each teacher who has conducted the open class and conducted thoroughly with a meeting by a team of school-based lesson study SDN 1 Kretek at the end of the school year.

The perspective of parents who support student diversity in school will open to a variety of different problems. The attitude is expected to encourage the implementation of integration and harmony among diversity. Therefore, the objective of the study was to describe the views of parents towards student diversity in inclusive education. Diversity from the perspective of parents determines the attitude of agree and disagree, as well as the right view of inclusive. The research method used a questionnaire to respondents of 99 parents from elementary schools in five regencies of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The results showed that the majority of parents still had a narrow understanding that the concept of inclusive was the same with Student Educational Need (SEN). Here, the concept of labeling might understand as a misconception phenomenon. However, the majority of parents agreed to the SEN in regular schools, but an understanding of separate learning is the responsibility of the special supervisor or, interpreted as the inclusion officer. The implications need the education to understand the inclusion correctly and discuss the perspectives of parents to contribute to the success of learning in inclusive elementary schools.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA KOMIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS IV Wahyu Nuning Budiarti; Haryanto Haryanto

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran berupa media komik yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa Indonesia dan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan langkah yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall. Model Pengembangan tersebut dikelompokan menjadi: (1) melakukan penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan informasi, (2) melakukan perencanaan, (3) mengembangkan produk awal, (4) melakukan uji coba lapangan awal, (5) melakukan revisi produk awal untuk menyusun produk utama, (6) melakukan uji coba utama, (7) melakukan revisi produk utama untuk menyusun produk operasional, (8) melakukan uji lapangan operasional, (9) melakukan revisi produk akhir, (10) deseminasi. Subjek uji pelaksanaan lapangan pada kelas eksperimen sebanyak 27 siswa dan pada kelas kontrol sebanyak 27 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) media komik pembelajaran layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Menurut ahli materi dan ahli media pembelajaran produk media komik berkategori “baik”. (2) terdapat peningkatan nilai pretest terhadap posttest motivasi belajar bahasa Indonesia dan keterampilan membaca pemahaman antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Keseluruhan uji dan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media komik berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar bahasa Indonesia dan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa.Kata Kunci: media komik, motivasi belajar bahasa Indonesia, keterampilan membaca pemahaman DEVELOPING COMIC BOOKS TO INCREASE MOTIVATION TO LEARN AND READING COMPREHENSION FOR THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AbstractThis research aims to: evelop an comic books that is eligible for the fourth grade students of elementary school, (2) reveal the effectiveness of the developed comic books toward enchancement of student motivation to learn, and enchancement of student reading comprehension. This developmental research refers to the model from Borg Gall, consist of (1) research information collecting, (2) planning, (3) develop preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product revision, (8) operational field revision, (9) final product revision, (10) dissemination and implementation. The subject of the operational field testing consists of 27 as the experimental class and 27 students as the control class. The research finding reveals that the comic books is proper for the fourth grade students of elementary school.(1) According to the expert of the material and the expert of the educational media, the comic books product is categorized into “good”. (2) There is an increase in the pretest to posttest at control class and experimental class of motivation for study after using comic books, and reading comprehension after using comic books for study. Overall test and the results showed that the comic books take effect that positive and significant to student’s motivation to learn and student’s reading comprehension.Keywords: comic books, motivation to learn, student’s reading comprehension.
