Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media video pembelajaran yang layak dan efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif bagi siswa kelas IV SD Gugus Pacarejo, Kecamatan Semanu, Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini menggunakan langkah pengembangan menurut Borg Gall, tetapi desain pengembangan media video pembelajaran ini hanya meliputi 9 langkah, yaitu (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan produk awal, (4) uji coba awal, (5) revisi produk awal, (6) uji coba lapangan, (7) revisi produk hasil uji coba lapangan, (8) uji coba lapangan operasional, dan (9) revisi produk akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media video pembel-ajaran layak digunakan menurut ahli materi dan ahli media dengan kategori “baik”. Produk yang dikembangkan juga terbukti efektif meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas IV SD Gugus Pacarejo. Rata-rata skor motivasi dan nilai hasil belajar kognitif pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol.Kata Kunci: media video pembelajaran, motivasi belajar, hasil belajar kognitif DEVELOPING INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO TO ENHANCE THE MOTIVATION AND LEARNING OUTCOMES OF 4th GRADE STUDENTS AbstractThis research aims to produce an instructional video media that is feasible and effective for increasing the motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of 4th grade students of SD Gugus Pacarejo, Kecamatan Semanu, Gunungkidul. This research is a research and development study from Borg Gall model, but the design of an instructional video media consists of only nine steps, including (1) preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) preliminary product development, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product revision, (8) operational field testing, (9) final product revision.The results are as follows the developed instructional video media is fit use according to the media expert and material expert, which is in a good category. The developed instructional video media is effective for increasing the motivation and learning outcome of the 4th grade students of SD Gugus Pacarejo. The average score of motivation and the value of the cognitive learning in the experimental class which is higher than that of the control class. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan realistik terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di kelas dan pengaruh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan realistik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain pre-tes post-tes dengan kelompok non-ekuivalen. Penelitian ini menggunakan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Karangasem Yogyakarta dan SD Negeri Sarikarya Yogyakarta yang dipilih secara acak dengan teknik undian. Variabel bebas pendekatan pembelajaran, sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah motivasi dan prestasi belajar. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan instrumen prestasi belajar siswa melalui pretest dan posttest. Data motivasi didapatkan menggunakan skala motivasi. Untuk membandingkan motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa, data dianalisis dengan uji t2-Hotelling’s dan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara pendekatan matematika realistik terhadap motivasi siswa pada taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,000 0,05;(2) ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara pendekatan matematika realistik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada tarafsignifikansi 0,042 0,05.Perolehan gain untuk variabel motivasi dan prestasi pada kelas kontrol secara berturut-turut adalah 0,0045 dan 0,0897, sedangkan perolehan gain untuk variabel motivasi dan prestasi pada kelas eksperimen berturut-turut adalah 0,745 dan 0,434.  The Effect of Using Realistic Mathematics on Motivation and Learning Achievement of Primary School Students Abstract This study aims to find out (1) an effect of the realistic mathematics approach on the students’ motivation, (2) an effect of the realistic mathematics approach on the students’ achievement. This was a quasi-experimental study. The research employed the one group pretest-posttest designnon-equivalent group. The research used to experiment class and control class. The sample comprised all grade 5 students of SD N Karangasem Yogyakarta and SD N Sarikarya Yogyakarta established using random sampling technique. The learning approach was the dependent variables, while motivation and achievement were the independent variables. The data were collected using a learning achievement test. The motivation data were collected using an achievement motivation scale. To compare the motivation and students’ achievement, the data were analyzed using t 2-Hotelling’s and MANOVA. The result of the study shows that: (1) there is an effect of the realistic mathematics approach on the students’ motivation at the significance level of 0.000 0.05, (2) there is an effect of the realistic mathematics approach on the students’ achievement at the significance level of 0.042 0.05. The gain score of motivation and achievement in the control class are 0.0045 and 0.0897, while the gain score of motivation and achievement in the experiment class are 0.745 and 0.434.Keywords: realistic mathematics, motivation, achievement

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of mathematics exam tests in elementary schools using the Rasch model. This research is a type of descriptive quantitative research. The subject of this study were all items of School Examination Mathematical Questions in SDN Region III of Donri Donri Subdistrict, Soppeng Regency. The Mathematics Problem is 40 items. Besides that, in this study, 125 answer sheets from the participants were collected from 125 participants. The technique of data collection is done through documentation. This data collection technique is used to get a set of questions, answers, and a list of names of examinees. The data obtained were analyzed using the Rasch Model. The results showed that based on the Rash Model of 40 items on the mathematics exam 33 items (82.5%) were in a good category, while the other seven items (17.5%) were in a bad category. Test results indicate that the test information value is 13.8 on the ability scale -1.5 with a measurement error of 0.26.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran tematik-integratif pada tema “Pengalamanku” berbasis sosiokultural yang layak bagi peserta didik kelas 1 di SD N Serayu, dan (2) mengetahui efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran tematik-integratif pada tema “Pengalamanku” berbasis sosiokultural untuk peserta didik kelas 1 di SD N Serayu. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu langkah yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall. Desain pengembangan tersebut dikelompokkan atas empat prosedur pengembangan, yang meliputi: (a) eksplorasi, (b) pengembangan draft/prototype, (c) uji coba produk dan revisi, dan (d) validasi akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek silabus, aspek RPP, aspek media pembelajaran, dan aspek soal tes hasil belajar menurut ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli evaluasi berkategori “sangat baik”. Penerapan perangkat pembelajaran secara umum dapat terlaksana dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Terdapat perbedaan hasil akhir antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran tematik-integratif berbasis sosiokultural dengan p 0,05 kemudian terjadi pula peningkatan yang signifikan dengan p = 0,0001. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, tematik-integratif, pembelajaran berbasis sosiokultural DEVELOPING SOCIOCULTURAL-BASED TEACHING KIT FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AbstractThis research aims to: (1) develop an integrated teaching kit on the theme “Pengalamanku” based on socioculture, that is eligible for the first grade students of SD N Serayu, and (2) reveal the effectiveness an integrated teaching kit on the theme “Pengalamanku” based on socioculture, that is eligible for the first grade students of SD N Serayu. This developmental study refers to the model suggested by Borg Gall. The developmental design was grouped into four developmental procedures, consisting of: (a) exploration, (b) development of draft/prototype, (c) product testing and revisions, and (d) final validation. The research finding reveals that the teaching kit in terms of the syllabus, lesson plans, learning media, and achievement test aspects is categorized by subject matter, learning media, and evaluation expert "very good". Generally, the implementation of the teaching kit falls in the “very good” category. There is a difference in the learning achievement between the experimental class and the control class after the use of the integrated thematic teaching kit based on socioculture with p 0.05, and there is also a significant increase, with p = 0,0001.Keywords: teaching kit, integrated thematic, sociocultural based learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh media video terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPA, (2) pengaruh media video terhadap hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPA, (3) pengaruh media video terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar kognitif peserts didik pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment. .Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V se gugus 04 Palangka Raya. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala motivasi dan tes. Pengujian hipotesis dengan teknik MANOVA. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif pada pembelajaran IPA yang menggunakan media video dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran IPA yang menggunakan media gambar terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar kognitif pembelajaran IPA.Kata kunci: media video, motivasi belajar, hasil belajar kognitif. The effect of video media on learning motivation and learning outcomes in natural science subject of the fifth grade students of elementary schoolsAbstractThis research aims to describe: (1) the effects of the video media on students’ learning motivation related to the natural science subject; (2) the effects of the video media on students’ cognitive learning outcomes related to the natural science subject; (3) the effects of the video media on students’ learning motivation and cognitive learning outcomes related to the natural science subject. This research is a quasi experiment. The population was the students of Fifth Grade Students of Elementary Schools Location 04 Palangka Raya. The sample was established using the cluster random sampling technique. The data collection used a motivation scale and test. The hypotesis testing used the MANOVA. The result of the research shows that there to know the difference of learning motivation and cognitive learning result in natural science subject of the fifth grade students of elementary schools location 04 Palangka Raya between before and after using video media.Keywords: video media, learning motivation, cognitive learning result.

Abstract

The research aimed to develop a learning media in form of board game about waste sorting for fourth grade students due to the lack of students’ awareness about the purpose of waste sorting. The research used descriptive method to make a description or representation about a fact from real phenomenon, which was about waste sorting that considered less important in society and must be informed since early stage. Strategy of the research was linear strategy that consisted of some phases: (1) Data Collection Phase, (2) Data Analysis and Processing Phase, (3) Product Design Phasee, and (4) Testing Phase. The approach of the research was mix method, combination of qualitative and quantitative. Research subjects at testing phase were 42 students of fourth grade of St. Theresia Marsudirini 77 Salatiga, an Adiwiyata Elementary School. The result of the research showed that, (1) 95 percent of students more interested in learning using a game, (2) “Pilah Sampah” board game was well successfully delivered the learning material about organic and non organic waste, (3) using of board game as learning media alternative was rated good both by teacher and board game expert, based on product questionnaire.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan prestasi belajar pada ranah pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan melalui metode inquiry pada pembelajaran tematik integratif siswa kelas IV SD Kasongan Bantul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Kasongan Bantul sebanyak 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, dan observasi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes uraian, pilihan ganda, dan rating scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode inquiry pada pembelajaran tematik integratif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan prestasi belajar dalam ranah pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, prestasi belajar, metode inquiry. Improving critical thinking and learning achievementthrough inquiry method on grade IV elementary schoolAbstract This study aims to improve the ability of critical thinking and learning achievement in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and skills through inquiry method on integrated thematic learning of the fourth grade students of Elementary School Kasongan Bantul. This research was classroom action research (CAR) which was implemented in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The subjects were 20 grade IV students of Elementary School Kasongan Bantul. Data collection techniques used were tests, and observations. The instruments used were an essay test, multiple choice test, and rating scale. The results show that the application of the inquiry method on thematic integrative learning can improve critical thinking skills and learning achievement in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and skills.Keywords: critical thinking, learning achievement, inquiry method.

Abstract

The study aimed at attaining an overview on teaching experiences by means of guided inquiry model of the scientific approach in order to inculcate the scientific attitudes among the students of Luqman Al Hakim International Integrated Islamic Primary School Yogyakarta. The study was a qualitative research using the ethnographic classroom approach. The subjects in this study were the headmaster, the homeroom teachers of Grade 4A students, and the Grade 4A students. In collecting the data, the researchers conducted interview, observation, and documentation. Then, the instruments that the researchers employed were the interview guidelines and the observation guidelines. The data in this study were analyzed using Lankshear and Knobel models and the analysis also included the data that had been attained from both the observation and the interview. In order to test the data validity, the researchers conducted the subject triangulation and the method triangulation. The findings in this study thus revealed that the teaching activities that make use of the scientific approach consists of seven strands of learning cycles and these strands include the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, interpersonal, cultural, and social aspects. Each aspect has specific purpose and, as a result, by implementing each aspect the students will have the scientific attitudes similar to those owned by a scientist in solving their problems. The recounted teaching experiences, which made use of the scientific approach, have shown similarities in that teaching activities become more meaningful if they are conducted realistically with various learning activities both inside and outside the classroom. The constraints in the application of the scientific approach are varying the teachers’ ability in understanding the scientific approach, varying the learning styles and the learning abilities, and varying the learning process for the students who need special assistance.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a picture-story book based on scientific approach through the discovery learning method to improve students’ creative thinking and collaborative skill. This research was a research and development which adopted a model proposed by Borg Gall which step including (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary product, (4) prelimi-nary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product revision, (8) operational field testing, (9) final product revision, and (10) dissemination and implementation. The subject consisted of 50 students from the experimental class and 25 students from the control class. The result showed that (1) the picture-story book based on scientific approach through discovery learning method developed valid for use based on expert assessment and test result at the school with “very good” category, (2) the picture-story book based on scientific approach through discovery learning method could be used to improve students’ creative thinking and collaborative skills.
