Abstract

This quasi experimental research with the matching only pretest posttest control group design was aimed to describe the effectiveness of chemical representations based animation to improve students representational ability on chemical equilibrium topic. Population on this research was students of XI IPA at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in 2016-2017 academic year, with XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 as research sample which was taken by total sampling technique. The instruments were animation, pretest and posttest, attitude and activity asessment sheets. Data analysis techniques were posttest and n-gain value calculation. The results showed that the average posttest value of the experiment class was higher than control class and n-gain value of the experiment class was classified in medium criteria. Moreover, the chemical representations based animation was effective to improve students representational ability.Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest posttest control group design ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas animasi berbasis representasi kimia dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016-2017, dengan kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 sebagai sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik sampel total. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa media animasi, pretes dan postes, lembar penilaian sikap dan aktivitas. Teknik analisis data berupa perhitungan nilai postes dan n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol dan n-gain kelas eksperimen tergolong dalam kriteria sedang, dapat dikatakan media animasi berbasis representasi kimia efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi siswa.Kata kunci: kemampuan representasi, animasi, kesetimbangan kimia

Abstract

Research And Development has the objective to develop science process skills based assessment (KPS). The method used in the research and development is a Research And Development (R D). Characteristic assessment generated by finite trials are as follows : 1) Test the opinion of interesting 76,45% of student at the high category, 2) Test the suitability of the content of the material ini the opinion of the teacher 82,78% is very high category, and 3)Test readability 83,8% according to the teacher’s category is very high category and amounted to 76,4% according to the student’s category is high category. In the process of the development of this assessment, there are obstacles that faced some problems are difficult to describe both macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic that the translation of assessment is a simple matter becomes difficult.Keywords : Assessment, KPS, Acid Bases

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of LC 5E learning model in improving communicate skills and mastery of concepts students on the material chemical equilibrium.  The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA in State Senior High School 1 Natar academic year 2012-2013.  Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique.  The sample in this research was first class XI IPA2 as experiment class and class XI IPA3 as control class.  This research used quasi-experimental research design with Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Effectiveness is measured LC 5E learning model based n-Gain increased significantly between the control class and the experimental class, with using two different test average.  The results showed the average value of n-Gain skills for communicating control and experimental classes respectively 0,54 and 0,74; and the average value of n-Gain mastery of the concept for the control and experimental classes respectively 0,41 and 0,55.  This suggest that the LC 5E learning model effective in improving the skills of communicating and mastery concept of chemical equilibrium students on the material.Kata kunci:  model pembelajaran LC 5E, keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep

Abstract

The quasi experiment research using non equivalence control group design aimed to describe the effectiveness of POE learning model in order to improve the ability of the original thinking of solution acid base materials for the students. The research sample are first year secondary student (XI IPA 1 XI IPA 3) at Senior High School in Bandar Lampung which were sampled by cluster random. The result of this research showed that n-Gain average in the ability of the  student’s original thinking of control and experimental class were 0.39 and 0.55 respectively.  Based on t test of n-Gain has significant difference for both of class. Has an effect size value of 0.53 with “moderate” category in the control class and 0.78 with the “high” category in the experimental class. Based on effect size test has a great influence. This research concluded that POE learning model is effective in improving the ability of the student’s original thinking of solution acid based  topics.Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalence Control Group Design ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran POE dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 3 di SMA Negeri di Bandar Lampung yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan cluster random. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata rata n-Gainkemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,39 dan eksperimen sebesar 0,55.  Bedasarkan uji t  nilai rata-rata n-Gain kedua kelas penelitian berbeda secara signifikan. Memiliki effect size sebesar 0,53 dengan kategori “sedang” pada kelas kontrol dan 0,78 dengan kategori “tinggi” pada kelas eksperimen. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran POE efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa.Kata Kunci: asam basa, kemampuan berpikir orisinil, POE

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness pollution by tofu liquid waste problem-based learning model to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The method used was quasi experiment with the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The Samples of this research were XI MIA 8 as experiment and XI MIA 5 as control class, that obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used parametric statistic with t-test and n-gain calculation. The results showed that the posttest average value in the experiment class (73.33) was higher than the posttest average value in the control class (55.2) and the average n-gain of experiment class in medium category. Therefore, it is concluded the implementation of pollution by tofu liquid waste problem-based learning model was effective in improving the students’ critical thinking skills.Keywords: problem-based learn, pollution of tofu liquid waste, critical thinking skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah pencemaran oleh limbah cair tahu dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIA 8 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI MIA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol, yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan uji t dan perhitungan n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata postes dikelas eksperimen (73.33) lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata postes siswa dikelas kontrol (55.2) dan  n-gain rata- rata di kelas eksperimen berkategori sedang. Dengan demikian,  dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pencemaran oleh limbah cair tahu efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: pembelajaran berbasis masalah, pencemaran limbah cair tahu, keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

This research was done in SMAN 9 Bandarlampung that aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve conceptual understanding on reaction rates topic. Design of this research was the matching only pretest-posttest control group with the IIth grade of XI IPA-5 as experimental class and the IIth grade of XI 6 as control class. The effectiveness of scientific approach was determined by the significant difference of n-gains average between the control and experimental classes and the score of activities. The result showed that n-gain of the control and experimental class was 0.36 and 0.64 respectively. Based on hypotesis testing showed that the different of n-gain was significant. The average of percentage score student activities during learning was 80%. So, it could be conclude that the scientific appoarch effective in improving students conceptual understanding.Telah dilakukan penelitian di SMA Negeri 9 Bandarlampung yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan saintifik pada materi laju reaksi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah The Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group dengan dua kelas sampel yaitu XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas pendekatan saintifik ditentukan berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain rata-rata yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dengan kelas eksperimen serta skor aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan n-gain rata-rata kelas kontrol dan eksperimen berturut-turut yaitu 0,36 dan 0,64. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan n-gain rata-rata berbeda secara signifikan. Rata-rata persentase skor aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran yaitu 80%. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa.Kata kunci : laju reaksi, pemahaman konseptual, pendekatan saintifik

Abstract

This research aimed to develop animation media about the solvent based on the value of divinity and environmental awareness material.  This research method was Research and Development, which consists of three steps: 1) preliminary studies, 2) product development and 3) describe the responses of the teachers and students towards the product.  From the teachers responses, the developed animation media has very high content suitability aspect that is 92,20%.  From the students responses, the developed animation media has very high readability and interested of the design aspect that is 80,25%.  From the responses obtained, so it can be concluded that the developed animation media has very well criteria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media animasi materi sifat larutan berbasis nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan.  Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap: 1) studi pendahuluan, 2) pengembangan produk dan 3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap produk.  Tanggapan guru, media animasi yang dikembangkan memiliki aspek kesesuaian isi yang sangat tinggi yaitu 80,25%.  Dari tanggapan yang diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media animasi yang dikembangkan ini memiliki kriteria sangat baik.                                                                                                      Kata kunci:cinta lingkungan, media animasi, nilai ketuhanan, sifat larutan

Abstract

The purpose of this research was describe the effectiveness of discovery learning to increase differentiating ability on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic. This research used two classes as control and experimental class which they were obtained from five classes of the 10th grade at SMA Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung for 2014/2015 academic year by using purposive sampling. The method of this research was quasi experiment with non equivalent pretest-postest control group design. The results showed that the average n-Gain of students differentiating ability in control and experiment class 0.63 and 0.78 respectively. The effectiveness of discovery learning was indicated from differences significantly of the average n-Gain in the control and experimental class. Therefore, it was concluded that discovery learning was effective to increase differentiating ability on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membedakan pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas sebagai kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yang diperoleh dari lima kelas X di SMA Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015 dengan purposive sampling. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent pretest-postest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan membedakan pada kelas kontrol dan eksperimen berturut-turut 0,63 dan 0,78. Efektivitas discovery learning ditunjukkan dari perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain yang signifikan pada kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membedakan pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit.Kata kunci: kemampuan membedakan, discovery learning, elektrolit dan non-elektrolit

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe effectiveness of the learning model of guided inquiry in improving communication skills and mastery of concepts in solubility and solubility product lesson. Samples in this research were students of State Senior High School 1 Tumijajar of classes XI Sciences 3 and XI Sciences 4 even semester School Year 2011-2012 that have equal academic abilities. This research used a quasi experiment method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Effectiveness of the learning model of guided inquiry was measured by significant differences in control class and experiment class, shown by significant gain. Based on the results of this research, average value of N-gain for communication skills in control and experiment class were 0,59 and 0,66; and the average value of N-gain for mastery of concepts in control and experiment class were 0,39 and 0,55. Hypothesis testing in this research used test two average different with t-test.  The hypothesis result test show that class that used learning model of guided inquiry had higher communication skills and mastery of concepts than class with conventional learning model. This indicated that learning model of guided inquiry was effective to improving communication skills and mastery of concepts in solubility and solubility product lesson.  Keywords: guided inquiry, communication skills and mastery of concepts

Abstract

The purpose of research was to find out the mastering comparison of thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model at MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  The population in this research is all of XI grade science students in academic year 2012/2013.  Samples  was taken by using purvosive sampling technique.  We got class XI IPA1 as a class experiment 1 and XI IPA2 as a class experiment  2.  This research used non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  The result of this research showed that there is a difference in score average of mastering thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model.  The average of thermochemical concept mastering by implementing learning cycle 6 phase model is higher than learning cycle 3 phase model, because learning cycle 6 phase model has more detail steps to improve the thermochemical concept mastering.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase pada siswa MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  Populasi dalam penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA tahun ajaran 2012/2013.  Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Diperoleh kelas XI IPA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI IPA2 sebgai kelas eksperimen II.  Penelitian menggunakan rancangan non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  Hasil dari penelitian terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase dan rata-rata penguasaan konsep termokimia dengan model learning cycle 6 phase lebih tinggi dibandingkan model learning cycle 3 phase.  Hal ini karena model learning cycle 6 phase memiliki tahap-tahap lebih terperinci dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep termokimia.     Kata kunci :   model learning cycle 3 phase, model learning cycle 6 phase, penguasaan konsep.
