Abstract

The purpose of the current study was to find out the effect of the evaluation model on the school counselor's accountability in State Junior High School of East Jakarta in carrying out guidance curriculum. The study employed waiting-list control group true experimental research. The subject of the study was thirty-three school counselors of State Junior High Schools of East Jakarta who were randomly selected and assigned into experimental and control group. The instrument utilized in the study was accountability scale consisting of 3 subscales including Accountability scale in the version of Headmaster, Homeroom teacher, and students. The school counselor's accountability score which was a composite score of three subscales was analyzed using ANAKOVA in order to find out the effect by controlling the variable of attitude toward guidance curriculum evaluation and guidance curriculum evaluation skill. The result of the study showed that accountability-oriented guidance curriculum evaluation model could not improve the whole accountability components of school counselors of state junior high schools of East Jakarta in carrying out guidance curriculum. There was only one accountability component that was affected by the evaluation model namely the component of explaining guidance curriculum to the stakeholder. The result of the study provides contribution to the Educational Service (Dinas Pendidikan) and the school counselors as consideration in carrying out training activity in order to improve guidance curriculum evaluation skill.

Abstract

The current study aimed at depicting the dynamics of self-concept of the Instagram user who possesses two accounts. The first account (public account) exhibits the user's identifiable identity, while the second account (private account) does not show the original identity of the user. The present study employed a narrative qualitative approach aiming at viewing the self-concept dynamics of dual account user. There were three samples who were selected by using purposive sampling. The data were collected by using an in-depth interview. The data were analyzed using data triangulation The finding of the study showed that in the public account, the participants would behave in accordance with self-image or impression they intend to build, while in private account, the participants did not attempt to create a positive self-image or impression. The present study can be used as a reference in understanding the self-concept of the dual social media account user.

Abstract

    The aim of this research is to discover the influence of achievement motivation training to the decr ease of student‟s tendency of academic procrastination. The design of this research is pre test post test control group design experiment. Subjek in this research is 20 people for experiment group and 20 people for the control group. The data analysis are t paired sample test that was used to test the differences between the pre-test and post-test result of achievement motivation training given to either experiment and t independent sample to test the difference between the  gain score pre-post test of experiment group and control group after the students conducted the achievement motivation training. The result of the research shows that there are significant differences of student‟s academic procrastination for those who conduct the training and the others who did not conduct the training. Finally, this research concludes that achievement motivation training can be used to decrease student‟s academic procrastination. This research can be used by all stakeholders, Unit Pelaksana Teknis Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling, lecturer, counselor at the college to reduce the tendency of academic procrastination by providing training on student achievement motivation.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out to what extent the role of peer group at school towards the students’ interpersonal communication This was a descriptive quantitative study. The  number of subject of  this study were 172 students of class the tenth-grade students of all vocational high school in Singaparna sub-district  with taken by using simple random sampling. The data of this study were analyzed statistically by using linear regression test, the coefficient of correlation test, and coefficient of determination test. Based on the data analysis, This study found that there was a significant relationship between peer group at school and students’ interpersonal communication. The result of this study was beneficial for school counselor in directing the students about the importance of positive interaction within the peer group and the importance of developing the students' interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Islam merupakan agama atau aturan hidup yang menggunakan al qur’an dan hadis sebagai pedomannya. Dalam menerapkan dan mengajarkan aturan hidup tersebut, digunakan berbagai cara yang salah satunya adalah konseling.     Istilah konseling merupakan istilah yang berasal dari bahasa Inggris yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Konseling memang merupakan kata serapan yang berasal dari bahasa Inggris counseling. Dalam penerjemahan al-Qur’an maupun Hadis ke dalam bahasa Inggris, ditemukan banyak kata-kata arab yang diterjemahkan counseling atau counsel. Penerjemahan yang dilakukan tidak selalu berasal dari kata-kata yang sama dalam bahasa Arab. Kata Kunci : Konseling, Islam

Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation to learn English through brochures tutoring and group discussions to junior high school students in orphanages orphaned daughter 'Aisyiyah. This research is action research (action research) with reference to the research design and Mc Taggart Kemmis. Subjects numbered nineteen people. Data collection instrument using a Likert scale of learning motivation, observation guidelines, and guidelines for the interview. Data analysis using t-test results showed that posttest Nineteen students are in good category, with a score percentage is between 76% - 100%. Based on the results of this study concluded that the media brochure tutoring and group discussions can increase motivation to learn English junior high school students in orphanages orphaned daughter `Aisyiyah. The results of this study can be used by counselors in helping students improve motivation to learn English through brochures tutoring and group discussions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of peer counseling to increase prosocial behavior of students of SMP Negeri 8 Madiun. The research design study is pre-experimental design. The research subject was eight students taken through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection instrument used a scale of prosocial behavior. The effectiveness of peer counseling test to increase prosocial behavior of students was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test formula. The analysis of data shows that the students prosocial average score change was 61 or 36 % , from a pretest data average was 85 or 49 %, to 146 , or 85 % on average of the posttest data. The results showed that peer counseling is effective to increase prosocial behavior of students of SMP Negeri 8 Madiun. The results of this study can be used as reference material for the guidance and counseling teachers in the preparation of peer counseling program to develop students’ prosocial behavior.

Abstract

Educational leadership is the influence of an educational leader in educating a child by moving, directing, motivating, and balance to achieve educational goals. This research includes issues related to the leadership of parents in educating children, the quality of leadership of parents in educating children, leadership success of parents in educating children, leadership type of parents to educate children, the barriers parents in leadership to educate children and use unggah-ungguh basa and basa semu in educating children. The research method uses qualitative research approach. The number of research subjects 6 people taken by purposive sampling. The technique of collecting data using an unstructured interview. The validity of the data collection tool using triangulation techniques with the examination of the source data. Analysis and interpretation of the data based on the criteria. The Conclusion of the study: 1) Leadership parents educate children in unggah ungguh basa and basa semu less active, less qualified and did not succeed. 2) Parents are not active in providing education leadership to children, 3) parents are less qualified to educate the leadership of children, 4) Parents inactive, less qualified and did not succeed in educating although understanding ungguh upload-alkaline and alkaline quasi-5) Type leadership of parents to educate children in upload-ungguh base in the village community Gilangharjo, Pandak, Bantul is the type of permissive. The research can be used as a guide in developing a curriculum based on cultural values, including local culture, which affects the moral development of children

Abstract

This study aimed to know how big the influence of communication skills to aggressiveness. This was a correlational study. This study was conducted in SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta. The sample of this study was seventy students who were taken through simple random sampling technique. This study employed the Aggressiveness Scale and the Communication Skill Scale. The data were analyzed by using statistical regression analysis. The result of this study showed that the communication skills affected the aggressiveness. This study proved that communication skills were able to repress the students’ aggressiveness. Therefore, the counselors are expected to assist the development of students’ communication skills.

Abstract

This study was aimed at generating the empirical data on the effectiveness difference between Adlerian Group Play Counseling (AGPC) intervention and classical guidance service in improving interpersonal attractiveness based on the social relationship profile. This study was categorized as an experimental study with factorial design. The sample of this study comprised the fifth-grade students of Sukasenang Elementary School and Cihaurgeulis Elementary School. Interpersonal attractiveness questionnaire and sociometry emerged as the instruments of this study. The data were analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance. The result of this study demonstrated that AGPC intervention was more effective than the classroom guidance activity in improving all interpersonal attractiveness categories. The school counselor may utilize the result of this study as an alternative strategy to improve students’ interpersonal attractiveness.
